Is there any XP award for the sword or plate armour, TK?

Wow, lots to address! Here goes:
Alethan wrote:FYI, Innana already does have a magical dagger, as well...
True, although admittedly Lanny kind of dumped the dagger on Innana after receiving it from Saul (Innana was the only one with proficiency in dagger), so I wouldnt necessarily count that as her one permanent magic item. Ideally the dagger would go a magic-user or thief, if they were proficient. Big strong warriors fighting with daggers in melee is a little awkward. It's actually more fitting as a throwing dagger really, because of its enhanced range. Both Innana and Rhys should really have a magical sword! (Come to think of it, so should Tratiln, though Bouv has been eerily quiet on what magic items, if any, he prefers...). Once Innana levels up and becomes skilled in sword (almost there), she will be right up there with Thordin in hit points and weapon skill. So I think her rightful place is on the front line next to Thordin, equipped as he is with a special weapon.
Finglas wrote:Frobozz, I appreciate you thinking about offering up Lanny's elven chain. I know how much that armor means to you. But Bregalad wants the magical plate mail ..... badly.
Totally understandable - Lanny is fine with that as long as the rest of the party is as well. I was just trying to make sure everyone got something (either now, or in the very near future). Btw, Lanny has no special attachment to the +2 elven chain mail, but he will take it if no one else wants it (since he was already wearing it previously).
thirdkingdom wrote:Marodin and Semele are leaving at this point. I know that Innana said she wanted to take on Semele as a henchman at this point.
For the record (and this is just my opinion), I am not a big fan of using henchmen in this game. I guess part of it is that they pretty much function as robots ("Semele, swing mace!" "Semele, shoot sling!" etc.) and really dont have any personality. Im sure Innana would do a good job of instilling a personality in Semele , but I dont think that is in keeping with TK's comments about henchmen basically being NPCs. The other issue is that the XP gain of henchmen does not keep pace with the rest of the party, and as a result the henchmen will continue to fall further and further behind in level to the rest of the group (perhaps to the point of becoming a liability). Also, given that they are facing all the same dangers and fighting all the same battles that the rest of us are fighting, it just doesnt make sense for them to receive only half the XP. If we do decide to keep Semele (or, more accurately, if she decides to join our ranks), then I think she should receive full shares of XP and treasure like the rest of us. If we had only a small group of players, or if we didnt have a cleric in the group, I might feel differently about using henchmen, but with 8 players, I'm just not sure they are really necessary. (As always, though, I will go with flow if the group feels strongly about keeping Semele.)
thirdkingdom wrote:Neither amount has been adjusted for XP bonuses due to chores/high primary Attributes.
TK, I dont suppose Lanny can take a 15% bonus can he? (5% ability scores, 5% chores, and the normal 5% for mapping)? Oh, and while Im on the topic, I was wondering if anyone might be interested in taking over the party mapper and party caller duties for the next adventure. I am happy to keep up all the other pages (standards, players notes, plot hooks, treasure/xp, etc.), but I could use some help with mapper and caller if anyone is interested.
thirdkingdom wrote:The potions/silver items were ordered on the 2nd; the next day will be the 7th. The orders will be ready in 2 days time (on the 9th).
And it looks like the next due date after that (if we want to make a note on the "To Do" list), will be Flaurmont 14 (for the items we just dropped off). Again, nothing has been paid yet for the research and identification services, nor for the potions and silver items we ordered.

Whew! IC post coming up next!

Innana the Fighter:

I can wait for the magical sword that was offered to us by the Duke if Rhys or Traitln want this one. That sword seems like it would be bad ass! . I feel like I can serve the group better if I get the sword, but even more so at my next level.

I am soooo close to leveling!! Omg. Is there like extra credit or something? Can I kill a villager?

Lanny, it meant a lot that you supported me in getting the sword:).

No XP reward for magical items, unless you choose to sell them.

Tratiln wouldn't mind a magical sword though he understands that there are others in the party more ideal at wielding them.

Sorry, wasn't trying to butt in line for magical items. I understand what is fair and there are several who could put it to good use and were in the party first; Rhys is happy to wait a while. Was just saying that in a list of who has what magical items, you left out the magical dagger.

It isn't awkward if you're fighting something that can only be hit by magical weapons and it doesn't get put to use.

The henchmen rules used by TK work fine to me so I am in favour of keeping Semele - and it seems already made a successful deal with her - as a henchman, the same way she is right now. If Innana or whoever else employes henchmen in the future wants to offer a larger share of treasure, fine with me as long as it comes from the employer's own pocket or, otherwise, only if the entire group agrees with that.

With respect to the xp coming from monsters (and not from treasure) I would not oppose to give henchmen an equal share as you suggest but, again, I see no need to change something that is working fine and giving us no trouble (as far as I can see).

A couple of housekeeping items before we start our next adventure:

[*] Treasure List cleaned up. Removed the tower items (journal/crest/symbol) and will add them to Lanny's sheet (unless Bregalad wants to hang on to them, since he originally had the tower journal). Also removed the castle's key and orb from the list, which I added to Lanny's sheet to hold on to them on behalf of the group.

[*] Assuming that we cash in our remaining treasures in the morning, we will have a whopping 200gp to split amongst the group (there is (1) 100gp hatpin and (4) 25gp gems... the other antique treasures were left with Myraal for research)). To keep it simple, we could give a 25gp split to the 7 PCs and Semele, which would enable those that want to take one of the tiger-eye gems for their share of the treasure to do so.

Oops. It looks like the new player has yet to introduce himself IC. I sent GSW a PM, and we'll go ahead and do IC introductions, then I'll move stuff along to GSW.

TK, I meant to ask:

What is your take on granting XP for magic items that are not necessarily sold per se (we would not want to sell the gnoll shaman's holy symbol and bone weapon to anyone), but that otherwise are earned in battle and voluntarily turned in to the appropriate authorities for destruction (even if no GP is granted for them)?

Hey guys just letting you know (and I already let TK know) that I'm stepping down, it's been a great year! Life is just getting busy (2 jobs, kid, fire department, etc.). Hopefully it will calm down a bit in the spring and maybe you'll see a familiar face on the roadside! Best of luck to all (and yes, that means Innana can have the sword if she wants it!)

Hmm. I'm inclined to say "no", at this point. However, let me think on this a bit.

Real life tends to get in our way from time to time. It was a pleasure playing with you Bouv, hope to see you again in the future.

BTW, just realised the game will have been on for a year this month. Thanks for all the effort TK and everyone!
