And what about a demonstration of the new technology so that we can discuss the fee for its protection and minimizing as many negative impacts as we can? "We should go," Roscoe agreed, "but can we meet at our ship tomorrow? The time is up to you, but I need to show you the technology we will be introdicing here--which might be of use to the mercenary companies as well--and need to know when to be there."

Prerna nods. "Lets say, ten hundred local time?"

“Perfect.” He will tell them where to find the ship, though he is somehow certain that they already know. “I won’t say why in advance, but bring a few items or devices that are perhaps uncommon, but not unique, that I can show you the process with. They will not be damaged, but I don’t want to use something with personal meaning. It has been a pleasure meeting and doing business with you.”

He looked at Jaelah. “Shall we go?”

Walt reckons the inner workings of the focus are beyond his ken but if Bilis could recreate the material that the focus is made of... then maybe the fractured face of the pendant could be "shielded/walled over"? i.e. making the "pendant" a "locket" - for want of a better descriptive.

"So, this little gem leaks power continuously when it’s meant to be controlled? This damaged crystal is both a boon and a massive burden, I can tell. But you, Lannigan, can turn everything or everyone psi off and this down? Another Ancients Artifact or is it just you? Or is it only when the two of you are together?

Lannigan nods once more and then indicates his own head.

Tourmaline adds "It is his gift - he is another "wild" talent. Lannigan is a Psionic "Blank"... an anti-psionic. A happy discovery from the battlefield at Avastan Down. It may have saved his life when he cut me from my power... although apparently... my berserkergang was near spent...".

Jaelah stands and shakes Prerna's hand, and waits to see if T'Lia extends her hand, too. Once done, She leads Roscoe out of the restaurant and to the nearest lift bank. She'd only been this far Upspire once before, so she has to use the datanet's mapping app to find her way downspire to her parents' home district. The whole trip takes about thirty minutes to complete, whereupon the couple finds themselves at her parents' door. She presses the admittance chime and waits.

“I… I expected you would find someone one day,” your mother said, eyeing Roscoe with a shocked look, “but perhaps not so soon. It feels so… sudden. And we don’t even know him.”

“I know I haven't been able to visit, or even message you that much, over the last four years, but a lot of things have changed for the better over the last couple of months. For one, the people I had to deal with here are no longer around. So, I don't have to worry about that anymore, which is why I can visit now."

Your father looks very uncertain, perhaps even suspicious as his eyes narrow. “You were in a very bad place in your head. This doesn’t just feel sudden. My apologies, but it is sudden and I am concerned. No offense, but how long have you known him? How has he swayed you so quickly?”

She takes a breath, wills herself to relax, glances at Roscoe and sends him a quick message. "Please shut down anything that can monitor us while we talk."

"What I'm about to tell you cannot leave this room. It would put you in grave danger. [Insert appropriate timeline here - maybe two months?] ago, I hired on to a new mercenary company in Glisten. The owner was murdered because he had stumbled across an intact Ancients base. I, Roscoe, and our companions explored this base, where we found a huge cache of operational Ancients technology, and it also found us. We are all still the same people we were, but with significant upgrades in our abilities. For one, my natural eyes have been repaired, but I have the enhancements of the implanted ones I bought after Henri was murdered."

"I know this is incredible, but there is much more. So much more, that I will have to show you, because you won't believe me if I were to simply tell you." She turns to her siblings. "Guys, this is really serious, not bad, I promise, but you need to not say anything to your friends about it. Ever."

Metz’ is already openly doing far more than that. His rep will be imprinted all over 268 soon enough if Roscoe and Jaelah have their way. If tempering the negative effect is desirable enough by Tourmaline, she just might part with it for a few hours. Then she doesn’t need to see the process. She just saw me out on my Intelligence boosting medallion. They’ll deduce it’s Ancients tech too. Perhaps leave that as collateral if she’s not desperate enough to outright part with it temporarily?”

Arkar gets the impression that this might very well be a case of "Greek meets Greek" and either a fight and/or bacchanal of legendary proportions. If he tags in he's likely to wake up in a skip* and need major organ refurbishment therapy.

I can’t. Not without scanning the room and manually doing it. This isn’t the ship and we don’t have monitoring equipment in place. That said, I believe the odds of anyone monitoring here are very low.

I’ve head all kinds of crazy rumors about these so-called Ancients, and I have to say it sounds outlandish. Fanciful. How exactly does someone prove crazy stories are true?”

"I don't think we can repair this sufficient to return it to it's original condition. But we might be able to stop the power leak. No guarantees, but a couple of our partners are, quite literally, among the Imperium's foremost experts in Ancient's Tech.

There's two ways of going about this. I can take this to my people...collateral can be arranged.

If that's not acceptable, I can ask if I can bring you to my people.

They look uncertain, but as you are family, they agree.

Nsobi smiles and then blushes again and says shyly "Ankit Ghoshal, would it have been very "forward" of me to have arranged a table for two here? I asked for the indulgence of the Ambassadorial staff and received a personal reply from the Ambassador himself. He said he would be delighted if the Consulate's Diplomatic Mission here could devote any resource to honouring the victor of Spion Kop. He also asked your permission to use the action as a military teaching aid. He would appreciate it if you could deliver a personal account of the action. But... I would understand... if you were busy... or had important duties this evening...".

Kit laughs awkwardly. "Nsobi, first and foremost, I have to insist that you call me Kit. Given the you have set-up the meal and already cleared it with the Ambassador himself, it would be rude for me to say 'No'. I will happily accept, so 'Yes'. In terms of addition information about the SEMC tactics Spion Kop, I would of course need to clear it with the Colonel before revealing an additional information, I of course have certain legal responsibilities as I am sure you understand."

Kit will start to lead Nsobi over to the table, knowing full well that he will get a healthy amount of grief for this from the SEMCers. He pulls out her chair and after the two are seated, he will try to keep his attention and thoughts well grounded in the moment.
