Do Elcroon and Delx need some kind of rolls to understand Black Dog's message?

Are the existence and mechanics like needing salt against ghosts common knowledge in this universe?
Would black dog know she can't hurt them or does she still need to learn this?

Black Dog would know to fear ghosts. She can't bite them.

Elcroon ... ah, grognardsw, how long were you waiting to make that rhyme?

I noticed you mentioned the axe to be real. Is a disarm possible by biting in the handle and just tugging at it?

Black Dog understands human speech. Is her intelligence in human range but from a dog perspective?

Pretty much, she isn't a normal dog but a weredog.
Allowing her to understand human speech, but still views the world from a dog's perspective. Except with higher intelligence than a dog.
Just some things are a bit alien to her, because to her life is black and white. Bit like when a dog suddenly growls at something that isn't bad at all. From the dog's perspective there is probably a reason until she learns it isn't a bad thing at all.

Am I correct that we have the following options?
- 2 exits at the forge we are currently standing at going north and west.
- 1 exit at the furnace towards the cockatrice scent
- 2 exits at the smelting furnace
- golden double doors at the balcony

aside from the directions - which you are underground and there have been some odd angles, you have no idea - you are correct.

Thoughts in italics are fine.

You move through the Foundry (Depletion [2d6]=6 -> your noses drip from dust and cold) and the Smelter (Denizen? [_3d6]=(3+3+1)=7) through the heavy double iron doors onto the balcony above the Great Hall (Depletion [2d6]=10 -> you're a bit snackish).
We just rested by a warm forge fire and ate, followed by a few minute chat with the ghost and perusal of a room, so I don’t think we’d be cold and hungry again?

That's fair as far as the snackish aspect, but cold dry air will swiftly make noses drip.

Did the gargoyle-ish creature feel super strong or would Black Dog feel she could grapple it out of the sky if she shapeshifts into a weredog?

It's kinda constrained by the steps now anyway, so moot point ... but yes, if this comes up in the future, a weredog could definitely yank down a griffin.

We are rolling toward an end of this "module" I think.

If there's interest in a next module, would you be open to changing rule sets? I have a renewed interest in 2400 Legends, for which I recently promoted a new game in the same world as this one. If everyone likes the current rules, I like them too and will be glad to stick with them. If people are interested in trying something new, I have ideas about how to recast your current characters in the Legends paradigm without losing any of their coolth.
