The tunnel is but a straight path for the most part. Most of the splits and rooms occured a couple hours ago further into the tunnel, so all the group really has going for them is silence and perhaps darkness. In light of this information, would you like to rethink the orders that Deceidon hurriedly gives to the main force?
Even a child that receives one bit of praise has the ability to excel in a single talent, and those who receive regular encouragement can feel confidence, achieve success, and become leading members of society. Because they don’t believe they are worthless, they don’t need to raise a fist and have vengeance against fate or the world at large… ~Inspector Lunge

The soldiers and adventurers nod, taking up positions on each of the tunnel's walls. Once I get a confirmation post from Flynn, we can begin combat and such.

"A dozen?" whispers Flynn. "This will get bloody quickly. " he hisses to Amber, while notching an arrow in his shortbow. "Stand well back. If the battle starts to go bad, you flee back to town. Understand? They will not JUST kill you for being a part of this. If we start to fail...you run."

One last thing, I will need a surprise combat roll (to hit and damage) for Flynn and Whitsell. Deceidon let me know over a PM that he needed me to roll for him, so I took care of that as well as your guys' surprise roll. For the following scenario, Gustov will be unable to attack during the surprise, having thrown himself to the ground.

If Whitsell would like to opt out of the surprise attack, sticking to his code, just let me know and I can move things along.

Surprise Shortbow attack [1d20+4] = 2+4 = 6

Flynn, never liking to get the jump on an opponent, much less cowardly shooting a bow at an unaware foe, takes aim in defense of Amber but shakes as he shoots.

oops, Sorry!
Since Flynn is pretty much just firing into the group, apply damage ad you see fit.

Surprise Shortbow damage [1d6] = 5 [1d6] = 5 [1d6] = 5 [1d6] = 2

Just at the group planned, the forces hid themselves on each side of the tunnel as Gustov lead the group of bandits into the tunnel. After reaching 200' into the tunnel, Gustov "trips", falling to the ground and dropping the torch. As if on cue, the archers of the group start to fire their arrows into the group of bandits. The bandits stand dumbfounded as a bunch of arrows now litter the ground around their feet (a series of unfortunate to hit rolls from the adventuring group), amongst those arrows, 5 hit their targets (all still standing).

Gustov also finds himself in an undesirable situation as one of the arrows pin his clothing to the ground (a soldier rolled a 1, sorry); however, Deceidon is quick to turn the situation around, as a bandit collapses behind the group, a swift sword thrust through the back doing the trick. The rest of the adventuring group joins in on the attack, leaping from the shadows with steel now glinting within the torch light. Flynn said the fight was to get bloody, and he wasn't kidding.

The ambush was an overwhelming success. Captain Hal personally took down 5 of the bandits as his men and the other adventurers quickly finished 5 more. When the smoke cleared, only one bandit remained, or the afterimage of one. He is founding running like a mad man, trying to get away from the tunnel and back into the bandit camp. "WE'VE JUST STARTED," exclaims the excited captain as he sees only one bandit left, "not even worth calling it a warm-up, tsch!" The guards let out a cheer as if they've already won the battle. "Archers! Bring that poor sod down, double time it!"

Deceidon and anyone handy with a bow or throwing dagger will be allowed an attack of oppurtunity. Rolls and actions everyone!

Gustov

Gustov rolls over the arrow pinning his clothing, breaking it and rising to a crouch with a dagger in hand to throw.

Gustov, thrown dagger (THAC0 17): to hit, [1d20+3] = 13+3 = 16, damage, [1d4+3] = 1+3 = 4 Hits AC 1
Gustov, thrown dagger (THAC0 17): to hit, [1d20+3] = 16+3 = 19, damage, [1d4+3] = 3+3 = 6 Hits AC -2

Whitsell will watch this action, unable and willing to fire at a retreating man. He will look around the area for any hiding bandits.

The retreating bandit is quickly put down with a barrage of arrows and thrown daggers; he didn't get far. All is quiet now as the group starts to rearrange themselves back into a marching order. Amberlynn, waiting patiently in the background, is relieved that no one got hurt yet, especially Flynn. Captain Hal approaches Deceidon as he cleans off his blade. "So... what is our next course of action? Shall we storm the gates of the bandit camp now? I doubt that we can pull off another ambush in the tunnel, they aren't THAT stupid those bandits..."

"That last volley depleted their numbers well enough. Still, If there were 50 or more...We should count on another 35 within? And let's not forget, in such a game the pawns usually go first. We're like to find better skilled men within. "

Gustov

"Well, perhaps we can create something that they would have to come and investigate.
Perhaps some loud sounds of drinking and merriment that they are not part of?
There must be some roudy drinking song that the bandits would be familiar with that we can all sing?
I'm sure everyone here is up to belting it out, no?
Let's find a place where this tunnel will echo the sounds maybe.
That would sure burn me up if I was waiting for food to be brought or was stuck on a guard tower."

Gustov cleans his blades and looks over the nearest corpses for anything of interest.

"Aye, that could draw more manageable numbers to us and leave less to handle behind the wall," says Deceidon to Gustov's idea. He whispers an idea to Gustov, for he knows Flynn may be sensitive to it: "It may not be needed, but fair Amberlyn could be a comely tool to lower their guard and help us gain more surprise."

Captain Hal clears his throat so as to get their attention. "With all due respect, I don't think we need to rely on such cowardly tactics. We've more than proven our group's strength in combat, how quickly we were able to take them out. You have but to say the word and my men will charge for you."
