Re: New Year, New Faces, New Troubles
All Hands On Deck...Grab the Drowning Elf!
The woman standing on the balcony, looking down on the others appears to be getting angrier by the moment. So, when the body of the cultist priest floats to the top of the harbor, she almost literally starts foaming at the mouth! She stammers for a few seconds before pointing at the Calishite standing below.
"Sanchera, deal with this now! Then come see me in my chambers!"
She then wheels around and is gone.
The Calishite, Sanchera, looks at Telurion and Ambergris and says, "I don't know what your friends are doing down there, but this is only the beginning of the shit your in. I suggest you gather whatever is yours and be gone! This holy temple is not for the unfaithful."
And then, there is a great commotion in the harbor just off the pier as the four companions break the surface! Gasping for breath, each of them seems to have a hand on an very drowned (?) Elf. They have brought Trueshot to the surface!
The two servants of the temple whisper to each other, pointing at the group in the water, and then Sanchera says, "You've rescued your companion. Now, leave."
She looks particularly at Telurion, who is standing near the great fountain.

Telurion
The man nods, goes back to the rowboat, and returns with Talian and whomever else of his companions is with him.

Ambergris
Can be surprisingly dextrous, still able to grip and clutch and oar in his hook hand. He will row the boat to wherever swimming companions need rescuing from the harbour water, leaving the temple women to sort out there own distresses.

Has CPR been discovered in the Forgotten Realms? Would Yarl know it? What would I even roll?
Yarl tries to get Trueshot breathing again. He puffs some air into his mouth and pounds in his chest to try to kickstart his friends heart.

Re: New Year, New Faces, New Troubles
Saving the Day
Once all of the companions are above water, having dealt with the threat below, the servants of Umberlee return to their stone temple and seal themselves off from the world again. With two boats and several helping hands, the companions manage to get Trueshot out of the water...and then with Lesh's help, then they manage to get the water out of Trueshot!
Sputtering, coughing, and puking, the archer is pulled from the Elvish afterlife and back into the harsh reality of life in Baldur's Gate. He doesn't look to happy about it, to be honest. But, after a few moments of backslapping and such, he is able to see everyone standing over him, and gives them a thumbs up and a half-smile.
"Blacktongue..." he begins, his voice hoarse and still filled with a bit of harbor water, "you didn't...you didn't mouth-to-mouth me, did ya?"
Talian laughs and this eases the tension among the others. Pretty soon, they are back on the docks and Trueshot is standing up, asking what happened (for he has no recollection after the wave crashed upon them), and if someone has seen his bow. The docks themselves are being swept and cleaned up, the crisis being averted, although the Flaming Fist are still present, overseeing everything with stern gazes and sterner words where needed.
Some good smells are wafting on the air, reminding the companions of the hunger in their bellies...not for adventure, but for lunch! The Elfsong Tavern is just up the street and seems like a perfect place to spend the afternoon. There will be good food and drink, and good company. There may even be an appearance of the Elven maiden for which the place is named.
Maiden or no, it is as good a place as any to share a tankard and a pipe, and renew friendships. Things could be worse.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Thus ends another chapter in the saga of Baldur's Gate.
I am grateful to all of you for playing, no matter how long you've been in this game.
I am leaving 5e behind for good this time. IF I return to this city, it will be with a different ruleset; I know I said that once before, but this time I really mean it.
Axe high friends. I go!
