Re: Chapter 2: The Highway and Silver Spring
Boff keeps an eye out for the drow while the others "negotiate" or whatever it is they are doing.

The reaction
Morning of Godsday, 18th day of Planting, 597
13th day since leaving Loftwick
Qleceec (AC 1, HP 44/63) (Water Breathing 9 hours)
Hex (AC 0, HP 21/27, Armor 2/8) (Staff with Continual Light Coin)
Boff (AC 5, HP 50/61) (Continual Light Lantern)
Siouxsie (AC 2, HP 45/48) - Otter
Androgost (AC -6, HP 42/65, Armor 15/26) (Glowing Sword)
Nah Olos (AC 4, HP 42/53)
Garrant (AC 3, HP 50/50, Armor 2/8)
Frannie (AC 4, HP 19/26)
Raffi (AC -1, HP 20/21, Armor 8/8) (Glowing Dagger)
Given the actions I am assuming that Hex has dispelled his Alter Self, if there was some other wish please let me know.
Hex while holding the gem has a strong reaction, Boff is confused by the retort and Androgost commands Hex to comply with the deal. Garrant tries to urge Hex on. Hex while holding the gem in his cloak throws the naked gem to Garrant. Garrant is able to catch the Gem in a fold of his cloak and avoid touching it directly.
Qleceec and Frannie are watching the water for any signs the dark elves are coming. Nah Olos is watching the direction of the partially blocked southern-most "exit" from the area.
Siouxsie is out of the water and near her equipment that Raffi had previously been dragging around. She is still in the form of an otter.
Hex and Raffi are heading towards the same exit that the two giants were backing towards. Speaking of the two giants, they stop their retreat with the potential for the deal to be back on and are looking at the advancing Hex and Raffi.

Re: Chapter 2: The Highway and Silver Spring
Hex gestures at Harrant as he approaches. There’s your prize you craven cowards. Good day! he says moving past them both without a backward glance. Raffi scuttles along after his master and they exit the chamber, heading back the way they came.
Greys Campaign.

Garrant shakes his head and goes over to the fire creature.
"OK, let's do this before the dark elves arrive, we've wasted enough time already."

The trade and the walk-out
Morning of Godsday, 18th day of Planting, 597
13th day since leaving Loftwick
Qleceec (AC 1, HP 44/63) (Water Breathing 9 hours)
Boff (AC 5, HP 50/61) (Continual Light Lantern)
Siouxsie (AC 2, HP 45/48) - Otter
Androgost (AC -6, HP 42/65, Armor 15/26) (Glowing Sword)
Nah Olos (AC 4, HP 42/53)
Garrant (AC 3, HP 50/50, Armor 2/8)
Frannie (AC 4, HP 19/26)
Hex (AC 0, HP 21/27, Armor 2/8) (Staff with Continual Light Coin)
Raffi (AC -1, HP 20/21, Armor 8/8) (Glowing Dagger)
Qleceec, Boff and Frannie continue to scan the water looking for signing the dark elves are following them. At least at this time, that water is calm and none appear.
Hex continues to insult anyone that will listen and the duo (Raffi in tow) storms in their plate mail armor with Hex carry his Continual Light coin on his staff out the way the group came in.
Frannie waves to Raffi and then returns to watching the water.
Nah Olos seeing that Garrant is moving up, does not draw his sword, but moves up. He is confused with Hex's reaction and says as he passes "The prize is here, don't miss it."
The giant called, Ismoos that is holding the chest allows the gem to be placed in the chest and the vambraces make their way to Siouxsie that is still in the form of an otter. Ismoos closes the chest after the exchange and holds the chest.
Fire creature sees that the gem is in the chest and says, "Now that that is complete, I owe you two pieces of information. I will keep my side of the deal. First we promised to give you the number of Drow in the area - yesterday there was 42 adults, I know not how many you killed, but I am aware of at least six. I expect most of the remaining group will be coming via the tunnels not the water. Second, all the information I have on the earthquakes. I can tell you that the earthquakes are being caused by a creature from the Para-Elemental Plane of Magma, known as a Ronkard. This Ronkard came to this plane as an infant and at that time it was no larger than I, but as it grows as it absorbs heat. It is doing this by tapping into pockets of magma that are deep under this mountain. Today it has multiple tentacles that are over a league long. It has weakened the rock structures and this entire mountain will soon be a volcano which will keep moving and changing the landscape of this area forever. This gigantic Ronkard must be slain to save the mountain and the surrounding area. I estimate you have about two weeks till this happens, perhaps less. I assume you are going to ask me where this beast is, but that I can only give an good guess - We travelled all this way from the Crossing and did not see it so it must have travelled the opposite direction from the Crossing. If there is nothing else, we to should be on our way."

The Crossing
Morning of Godsday, 18th day of Planting, 597
13th day since leaving Loftwick
Qleceec (AC 1, HP 44/63) (Water Breathing 9 hours)
Boff (AC 5, HP 50/61) (Continual Light Lantern)
Siouxsie (AC 2, HP 45/48) - Otter

Nah Olos (AC 4, HP 42/53)
Garrant (AC 3, HP 50/50, Armor 2/8)
Frannie (AC 4, HP 19/26)
Hex (AC 0, HP 21/27, Armor 2/8) (Staff with Continual Light Coin)
Raffi (AC -1, HP 20/21, Armor 8/8) (Glowing Dagger)
As the group continues their discussion, the light from Hex's Continual Light fades as it gets farther away.
The fire-creature says, "There is a spot well down the highway, much farther than you have gone that allows you to cross between this plane and the Para-Elemental Plane of Magma. If you travel down the tunnels you so call the Highway and pass the river crossing and then it is another 2-3 miles. My friend and I here call it the Crossing. I believe that completes our transaction." The duo start backing away from the group in the direction that Hex departed.

Siouxsie (AC 2, HP 47/48)
Garrant (AC 3, HP 50/50, Armor 2/8)
Frannie (AC 4, HP 19/26)
Qleceec and Nah Olos encourage the group to get back to the Highway. Garrant suggests finding a defensible point, but Qleceec asks where that is in this crazy cave system. By a slim majority the groups starts heading back to the Highway.
I am assuming that Siouxsie will need to transform back into her normal form to to carry her possessions since Raffi is no longer here to drag her things around. If something different is the plan please let me know. This restores 2 HP for Siouxsie. I am also assume that Qleceec wanting to make best possible speed will light her sword.
As the group is getting going Frannie wonder aloud, "What has happened to out gnome and halfling friends?"
The two "giants" once the get out of the large chamber ahead of the party quickly disappear from view.
I have included the map in the basic direction that you came from.

Re: Chapter 2: The Highway and Silver Spring
Androgost is reluctant to move on with a Drow contingent around but he understands that time is pressing on larger issues. "Keep a close eye on our rear and flank - they can strike at any time!"
After he digests the rather large challenge of this magma beast, he wonders, "Challenging odds I will never fear - but tell me how we kill a beast that is miles long?..."

Yes she would light her sword.
She leads the way.
"I am not sure how we will kill it, which is why I asked about banishing it back where it came from. Perhaps it has a gem heart or something like that we need to attack?"

"I do not think my magic is sufficient to defeat this creature or return it to it's real home. I maybe able to provide some protection from the extreme heat. Perhaps a means will present itself as I am not sure that two weeks is enough to return to Loftwick and get help. What is the plan, to return tot he dwarves, find a place to defend from the drow, or should we be moving forwards?"
