Experience Points
(Transferred from the OOC thread 02/10/2024)
a) 50 points for surviving a gunfight; (N/A)
b) 40 points for bringing a criminal to justice; (40 x 3 criminals = 120 / 5 characters (including Gideon) = 24 each.
c) 30 points for winning a brawl; (N/A)
d) 20 points for coming up with a brilliant idea that saves the day or resolves an adventure;
e) 10 points for using a work skill;
f) 5 points per hour of real time spent playing the game. (We'll guesstimate this based on the length of posts, RP, and contributions to the story. While trying to be fair to players who aren't as into writing or RP as others. Or who are playing a more tactiturn PC).
g) 10 points per day at the rail camp for resolving the railroad sabotage problem;
h) 40 points for showing up as witnesses for two trials;
i) Up to 15 points for taking rest and recreation.
Participating in the shooting contest earn Reputation, rather than XP.

You're right, 170 is correct. With the 3 work skill successes, 200 total.redwarrior wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 3:43 pm Please check me here and keep me honest. Last XP award: June 30

I’m thinking that comes to 170? I got 140, instead of 125 when I added everything except work skill successes together.

Re: Experience Points
Players can use this thread to keep track of PCs' XP as they go along. For example:
04/01/2024 - 2 Trading successes. Then revising the same post,
04/06/2024 - 1 Thespian success.

Please post your final XP tallies from the Austin part of Chapter 3 here. You don't have to post your calculations, just the final earned XP figure. Please also post your expenditures for advancing your PC's attribute or skills scores or for learning a new skill.

DT: 180 Total
100+ 80 (4 Medical/4 Riding)= 180
100 used to raise Rifle to 2 = 80 (Will upgrade shooting skills then either Fast Draw or Tracking for 250 later)

Strange Pursuit
Running total 31
80+20 (Dr skills) +9 (Smith Boarding house) +22 (Bouchard’s)=131- 100 (Rifle to 3) = 31
Combat:
- Buffalo Hunter stopped murder and brought to justice? Not adjudicated yet

Re: Experience Points
I am not strong in math myself, but it appears Paladin’s XP tally totals 274 +work skills. Andreas and Doos have math errors also, so folks may want to review.
Note that the “10 per skill” line in some PCs was added to the total, which causes a double-count when you tally your skill total. For example, DT’s total of 100 includes 10 already for a skill, so if there were seven skills total the 70 is 60 due to 10 already being included in the 100 total.
Re: Experience Points
Sorry for the math errors. What happened was I did the draft tallies, then revised the XP for time played/RP, then got interrupted for a day, then spaced updating the total sums before posting. Please do check the arithmetic.

I believe, if I counted right 3 LAW successes that man something, and I have spent experience on a +2 to my bow and arrow skill, and I do not have access to my info at my new work site, so I cant dojemmus wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2024 12:39 am

Re: Experience Points
DT gets 20 XP for the tale of Growling Dog/Pooping Puppy story told at the Bouchard residence just south of the Colorado River. All of the PCs get 2 XP for the comfortable stay and wholesome dining. Please record your XP on your character sheets.

Re: Experience Points
Paladin XP
Paladin made it out of Texas and into Arkansas, so it's a new chapter and a good time to figure XP. Here's the chart.
a) 50 points for surviving a gunfight; (N/A)
b) 40 points for bringing a criminal to justice; (N/A)
c) 30 points for winning a brawl; (N/A)
d) 20 points for coming up with a brilliant idea that saves the day or resolves an adventure; (N/A)
e) 10 points for using a work skill; (N/A)
f) 5 points per hour of real time spent playing the game. (We'll guesstimate this based on the length of posts, RP, and contributions to the story).
g) 10 points per day spent resolving a problem; (N/A)
h) Up to 15 points for taking rest and recreation.
f) 5 points per hour of real time spent playing the game. Guessing around 4.6 hours, with additional points for RP moving the story along. 38 XP
g) 10 points per day spent resolving a problem. I'm going to say no XP for uneventful travel by rail from Fort Worth to Texarkana. Train travel is a common and very important part of life in the frontier states and territories in 1873. It's just travel, it's not solving and fixing a problem.
h) Up to 15 points for taking rest and recreation. 15 XP, after staying at a high-dollar hotel in Dallas, having good meals, and going on a highly successful date with a charming young lady.
Next up will be XP for Charlie and Sarge Ezekiel. A whole different set of (and equally rewarding) criteria for them might apply.
Same for the riders currently camping, watching, and closing in on the current occupants of Billy Vitek's house, south of the Colorado River in South-Central Texas. d) 20 points for coming up with a brilliant idea that saves the day or resolves an adventure. That might apply for everyone, in the end.

Re: Experience Points
Thanks, so 53 total for F and H.
I think 69 would be appropriate for grand slamming Constance. Now if it had just been first base, 10; 20 for second; 40 for third base.

And if Constance shows up in San Francisco in a few months with a belly, -100 points. (I'll roll for that tonight when I'm home. No dice roller on the phone).
