Don't worry, Rex is great at introducing newcomers to the mechanics and does his best to focus in what we want to do and hide the how as much as possible. Character creation can be convoluted, but don't let that put you off.

Thanks shaidar. I've been looking at Harn since I was a kid in the 80s reading the ads in Dragon magazine. I'm excited to finally play it.

Once you have read through the first 4 posts or so of the character generation thread let me know if you have any questions and you can start rolling whenever you are ready. I like to have an idea of what I want to try and run first but you can just as easily go the entirely random route.

Yeah, I am not going full random. I tend to play characters that I can imagine being myself, so human male at the very least.

Also, let me know if I'm not supposed to read any of the Harn pubs relating to the area in which we're gaming. I own the Kingdom of Chybisa and Genin Trail books.

Also forgive me if I screw up the syntax for the roller. I have been using Orokos so I need to get familiar with the US one.

No problem on either count. Feel free to read Chybisa, 99% of it is general knowledge and would help with getting you familiar with the setting. Just ask here for help with the roller I think everyone in the game is pretty familiar with it and can help out with syntax. I am not a computer person and many on here have helped me with it to get me to where I am at now.

Nope. Only skills less than 50 ML are eligible (those are 68 and 64 ML). Otherwise it would be correct. You will be getting some skill maintenance points shortly for your down time that you can use to try to increase those skills.

There is also the rolls for using Prayer of Elkyri to improve the rolls for the drake armour and I have one last apple to enchant with Eynwif's Apple.

Stealth is a good choice. Especially as you prepare to go hunting. Thanks for the reminder on the armor, I had forgotten about your rolls.
