(13) The Last Plank (Docks Tavern)
Re: (13) The Last Plank (Docks Tavern)
Tuurma freezes halfway through the doorway, another patron bumping into her from behind without her even noticing.
"Waaaaait a minute. Cormag, I'll be right back. I think I missed something at the Grotto."
She will dash back and see if Amos is still there.

Mooreen watches Tuurma leave again, awaiting Cormags order.
“That one is a strange bird, no? Is she as unpredictable in combat as she is in daily life?”

Cormag She's a stalwart companion, but she does seem to hear a music that others miss. An Ale for now, and some stew if it's still hot.

Mooreen returns with both ale and stew.
“Now, what’s this matter of some delicacy yer talking about, lad? You need something here done the highland way?”

Cormag will fill her in on the old woman's story about her murdered daughter and ask her if she has any knowledge of rumors of disappearances around the church. We aim too do right by that woman and her daughter, Highland way or other way. He'll move to flirting after that discussion, if our Barbarian friend has not returned.

Mooreen crinkles her pretty nose.
"I don't doubt the old womans word one bit. Those fat priests of Helios act as though they are above the law here, and our coward Satrap does nothing to control them."
She leans in a little closer.
"I heard the thieves at the Grotto of Rel don't like them either. It seems there is a conflict of interest between the two factions, and as usual, coin seems to be the focus over this fight."
She fills the younger Kelts ale mug from her pitcher. "It sounds like a noble cause to me if you help this poor woman out. You will get no support for the temple here."

Moreen clears her throat and starts tapping her foot, the gorgeous woman apparently not accustomed to being ignored.

Re: (13) The Last Plank (Docks Tavern)
Cormag looks up, Indeed, coin is one of the main reasons people do things, though not the best one he says as he winks. But anyway, to business.. It is interesting that the priests don't have the people, that is normally where they get their power. They must draw it from another source, so be it wealth, power, or knowledge. Why do the people say the Satrap tolerates his authority being ignored? It seems a poor strategy for a ruler, be he coward or not. For if one ignores him and lives, so might others.

Re: (13) The Last Plank (Docks Tavern)
"Don't get me wrong, Helios has plenty of followers here in Xambaala, but I think the priests want more. They see what the thieves bring in, and want their piece of that pie as well."
"They don't necessarily thwart the Satraps authority publicly, but they have made their own way for a while around here now. Our leader simply chooses to ignore their greed and gluttony, so he doesn't have to get involved, probably."

Re: (13) The Last Plank (Docks Tavern)
Tuurma enters, looks around for Cormag, and when she sees him, waves and comes over. She nods to Moreen, looks at Cormag, looks back at Moreen, and back at Cormag again, with a slightly puzzled face.
"So, what's going on here?"

Re: (13) The Last Plank (Docks Tavern)
Cormag looks over innocently. Then in a quiet, no-carrying voice, It seems that the priests of Helios are not held in terribly high regard, and the story that the woman told us has the ring of truth, according to other rumors. But that the Satrap turns a blind eye to concerns raised by the common people, for some reason. He'll fill in Tuurma in on the relevant bits of conversation with Moreen.

Re: (13) The Last Plank (Docks Tavern)
Mooreen fills Tuurma a mug, awaiting any more dialog before returning to her duties.
"I don't know this old woman you speak of, but if her situation happened to me, I know I would want my revenge just as badly."

Re: (13) The Last Plank (Docks Tavern)
Tuurma orders an ale as well and sits down with Cormag to plan ahead.
"So, any idea on how to do this? Do we even know where to find him? Preferably in a place without crowds. You've seen me, I have a tendency to ehrm go over the top, when things get rough. I don't want to wake up having eradicated ten innocent families."

Re: (13) The Last Plank (Docks Tavern)
Cormag shrugs as he looks into his ale, as though the answers might be there. Maybe the thieves at the Grotto have some ideas on where to start, did they say anything interesting? Or the woman might be able to tell us where her daughter went with the priest. If all else fails, it seems to me that a temple would be a place to find a priest. Though maybe when it's closed.
Re: (13) The Last Plank (Docks Tavern)
Right, should have asked. OM, any chance we can fast-play us asking the Grotto people were this priest can be found or if they can point us to the couple who had their daughter killed, if they have any clues?

Re: (13) The Last Plank (Docks Tavern)
Sure!
The old woman said you could seek her out if you have questions about where to begin.
They live in a tiny house near the Temple, and she told you to stop by anytime.
If that works for you two, I will start up a new thread for this encounter and we can begin the action there. Cool?
