Re: CHAPTER 12e: Out of Motter's Realm
Guys, I think we should get out of here. This thing is just going to keep growing if it eats any of us!

Saiph
The diminutive mutant gulps
"But what if it sees us running with all those eyes?" he whispers

Kurot is fully on board with the "running away" plan. If possible, he'll use his speed to help anyone who is slower.
Re: CHAPTER 12e: Out of Motter's Realm
Based on your observations, you should be able to evade the creature with a rapid escape. The slower members of the party (Silvestri, Denslow, Saiph, Anton) will not be able to keep ahead on the rolling mass before it overtakes them.
Engaging the creature will allow the slower members time to escape. Those that melee attack will subject themselves to a counter attack. If they perform a ranged attack, they will be counter attacked if their Speed is 30 or less.

Re: CHAPTER 12e: Out of Motter's Realm
"Can we leave some of those explosive fruits behind us as we run away like landmines? That might slow it down!"
Re: CHAPTER 12e: Out of Motter's Realm
I don’t think they work that way, says Denslow.
Re: CHAPTER 12e: Out of Motter's Realm
Could Kurot use a hit and run tactic to keep the creature "engaged" while still staying at range and allowing the slower members time to escape?
Re: CHAPTER 12e: Out of Motter's Realm
That sounds like an interesting modification to this power.Anton_E_Gregor wrote: ↑Tue Jun 06, 2023 6:50 pm "Can we leave some of those explosive fruits behind us as we run away like landmines? That might slow it down!"
Yes
Re: CHAPTER 12e: Out of Motter's Realm
Denslow will try the landmine tactic as he flees. He’s darn slow so he doesn’t expect much
Re: CHAPTER 12e: Out of Motter's Realm
Kurot will "hit and run" while keeping at a distance, trying to allow the slower members time to escape.

Podo follows Anton as quickly as possible. "That's a spicy meatball! Let's get out of here!"

Gam’A Zone 371D/81
The aberration appears too dangerous to combat and you attempt to exploit a sliver of an escape route to avoid confrontation. Through insight, Denslow discovers a delayed-blast feature of his explosive fruit that will facilitate this evasion (I will update the mutation chart). Using a series of ranged attacks and movements, you keep ahead of the gibbering mass. Kurot speedily and skillfully performs attacks of distraction, allowing the rest of the group to proceed with an organized withdrawal from the area.
The lightning-created monstrosity ripples with agitation at your departure, unable to match your pace. Not until the creature is out of sight do you express relief and continue your journey to Hagalton.
Hagalton 10D/82
Ther remaining journey is uneventful. Ragged and depleted of resources, you trudge back into Hagalton for rest and recovery.

I'm still in. Maybe we can try to find mission control?
