Q&A & Other things OCC continued...
Re: Q&A & Other things OCC continued...
N4 is an interesting idea. It is the only zero level adventure I have ever played in and I have never run one either.

Re: Q&A & Other things OCC continued...
I played in a DCC 0 level game on here or maybe they recruited on here and it was on a different forum but it was interesting starting with 4 PCs and hoping one of them survives to become your main character after the meatgrinder is done. I swear I had something that was 1e or 2e listed as a level 0 adventure somewhere in my digital copies of books.
That aside lost power until almost 9pm so I didn't get the update done as I didn't even get to cook dinner till the power came back on didn't think grilling in the thunderstorm was a wise plan earlier. So needless to say battle update over the weekend.

Fortunately, GMP (the power company) I think has everything fixed in the area power has stayed on the rest of the day.

Good news. At least the temps were in the range where you don't have to have heat or AC to get by.

You guys have a storm or some such up yonder?
Winter is coming...
Re: Q&A & Other things OCC continued...
Not really a storm, but it has been really windy the past few days. Combined with horribly maintained infrastructure of course.

Yup, that's exactly it aging power grid, with lack of preventative maintenance. Does take much for the power to go out these days. I certainly don't remember losing power every time we got a little thunderstom when I was growing up. But I lso don't think anything has changed with the powergrid since the 1980's either. Aside from the name of the company that owns all of it now.

I think it was before the 80's. Vermont is a beautiful place but about as badly run as they come.

I can't speak for the entire state of NC, but our county's infrastructure has gone to shit.
Our illustrious mayor and the city council love their money, and they don't think twice about clearing trees and back-filling swamps if they can squeeze a few townhouses in there, or a gas station, or a fucking car wash.

Re: Q&A & Other things OCC continued...
Alright so it's definately not just the New England states then. The biggest annoyance is that Vermont tries so hard to act like California. Like this not allowing car dealers to sell new gasoline cars only electrics. Hows, that going to work out when we can't even keep the power on in this state? Guess we'll be using the electric cars to power the state half the time. Any who just blowing off steam. Politics, fun!

Re: Q&A & Other things OCC continued...
That is a Cold Hard Fact. Not just the mayors, Governor is the problem along with all the Florida returnees. I have two in my neighborhood that moved to florida from Connecticut and didn't like the government there so moved half way back to NC. But they vote the same way as they did in Florida. Can't fix stupid. That is why I am starting to go off grid. (Not Really.) Just taking up new hobbies that guarantee I am good when it all goes to hell in a hand basket.hedgeknight wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2023 3:05 pm I can't speak for the entire state of NC, but our county's infrastructure has gone to shit.

Just wait until all those electric cars start blowing up. Will be a jolly good time.

Fine choices in hobbies, I made my first batch of black powder back in high school. One of the things that got me interested in chemistry,

I always wanted to learn metalsmithing, mostly just to be able to make my own knives, like they do on forged in fire.

Metalsmithing would be cool. I know some of the theory but have never done any.
