General Chatter
Re: General Chatter
I am fine with leaving it as a bracelet. Not sure what the leveling means so if there is something I need to do other than record xp please let me know.
Re: General Chatter
My personal suggestion:
Since we're in the middle of a 'mission,' all treasure is part of a common pool of wealth, and supplies and gear are purchased from that pool.
Any gear purchased is considered to be party property, and individual shares are passed out after the current 'mission' of exploring hexes is done.
**** I'm not married to this idea, and I welcome any suggestions from the rest of you.

Re: General Chatter
That works fine for me.
Re: General Chatter
Sounds great.
Keep in mind we only got paid 80, not the whole 600, and keep purchasing within it. Belegroc is included in the Encumbrance thread already for capacity.

We only got 80sp right now, and are saving the bracelet.sulldawga wrote: ↑Wed Apr 26, 2023 11:14 pm We'll assume for all animals that a saddle and/or pannier is included in the overall price.
For items not listed in the rules:
Tarp is 10 sp
Cord and rope are all the same price
We'll assume "working" axes are half the price of their comparable "fighting" axes.
So a hatchet is 5 sp and a wood axe is 25 sp.
30sp - second mule (+15 available encumbrance)
20sp - two tarps (1 enc. each, as tent)
4sp - 1 Shovel (2 enc)
8sp - 2 picks (2 enc each)
4sp - 100' rope (4 enc)
That spends 66sp, leaving 14sp, and filling the new mule to 12 / 15.
If the wood axe is 25sp as half a war axe instead of "other tool" for 4sp, we can't afford it right now.
...600' of rope is 24sp and 24 encumbrance. If we buy a mule and have it carry nothing but rope, it can only carry 350' of rope. We would need two rope-mules.
...do we want to buy that many supplies right now?
Re: General Chatter
Cord is not rope, it is heavy string or leather lacing material. Used to tie down tarps and tents, rig snares, etc. Shouldn't cost anywhere near what rope does or have the encumbrance of it either.
Re: General Chatter
I don't want to get bogged down in the intricacies of cord vs light rope vs rope.
What is the specific use case(s) for cord in the game?
What is the specific use case(s) for light rope in the game?

Re: General Chatter
Only listed it as the tarps would be useless without it. It sounds like it doesn't mater from the game point so probably best to just save the coin.
Re: General Chatter
Assume the tarps come with cord to hang them up. No need to buy separately.
Re: General Chatter
I added together Rex's ask for "500 feet cord" and "100 light rope" but missed the "50 feet rope" - it should have been 650' because Sulldawga said to treat it all as "rope." Rope is 2sp and 2 Encumbrance per 50 feet, and that encumbrance for hemp rope is killer (26 encumbrance for 650 feet, and a mule only carries 15.)
It looks like we now have agreement that "cord" is a non-issue and there's no such thing as "light rope" so adding 100' of extra rope for 4 encumbrance on the second mule seems reasonable to me.
...though, I would ask if we can apply the "Three to a bundle" rule to more items on mules. For example, two picks and a shovel. Very different on a pack animal than some guys backpack.
# can be bundled in units of three for the same encumbrance, with a Main Action to break open a bundle to get at the contents
Re: General Chatter
Yes, bundling on a pack animal is ok by me.Marullus wrote: ↑Mon May 01, 2023 8:33 pm I would ask if we can apply the "Three to a bundle" rule to more items on mules. 8sp - 2 crowbars (1 enc each)
2sp - 1 Hatchet (1 enc "or small tool")
That spends 78sp, leaving 2sp.
Stowed on Fred the Mule (10/15)
- two tarps - (4)
- 1 shovel, 2 picks (2)
- 2 crowbar, 1 hatchet (2)
- 50' rope, 50' rope, 50' rope (2)
...everyone good with that and we can go?
Re: General Chatter
I'm fine with the bundling.
