Akhilleus
"Aye. Let's not mark the graves. Let's see what's in this room then. I'll go first. Does any of you know his way around traps and things like that? Drest? Before we open the door." He unsheathes his sword for the remaining of the exploration.

Re: Tracks In The Desert
I'm imagining Drest showing our characters his CV

Re: Tracks In The Desert
For some reason I don't see Drest (the party spokesman any time we want to start a brawl) as doing that.

Re: Tracks In The Desert
Let’s take this one area at a time so you can act accordingly in each spot.
The Ruined Warlords Palace
The Aftermath, Mid Morning
Leaving no markers on the graves of their fallen brother and sister in arms, the group decides to look around. Starting with the door across the hallway, Drest finds no indication of traps upon it. He pushes it in to find another room that was likely an armory at one time, but has been taken over as sleeping quarters. 4 musty pallets are lined up along the outside wall, with rotting weapon racks of rusted iron scraps and moldy tatters of cloth banners filling the rest of the floor space.
Action?
Xenos AC:6 5/12 1st:2/2
Akhilleus AC:4 19/32 (2 Ioun stones)
Drest AC:7 7/16
Cyril AC:8 5/5 1st:2/3

Xenos
"Let's check the racks and the beds, particularly the beds, but be careful about it. We either stick together or split into pairs, a warrior in each pair."

Akhilleus
The warrior heeds the sorcerer's words and starts first looking in detail, then touching, then overturning the pallets, depending on what the finds. Even looking behind the banners and shaking them in case anyone has kept something behind them.
"I'm thinking..." He says while searching. "If those amulets change a man's appearance, maybe we could use them to explore further below, that whoever is waiting for us in the basement think we are those foul priests."

Re: Tracks In The Desert
Cyril pokes through the refuse with his quarterstaff. Listening to Akhilleus, Cyril takes out one of the amulets. "I was thinking along the same lines and would be willing to test this on myself. I was not certain if we were strong enough to go downstairs...and it would be safer to experiment in a place of safety."
If there are no objections or immediate desires to return to town, Cyril will put on one of the amulets.

Drest
Drest will search around, looking for any secret compartments/doors the builders might have left.

Re: Tracks In The Desert
Xenos assists in the search, particularly with larger items such as the pallets

Re: Tracks In The Desert
The Ruined Warlords Palace
The Aftermath, Mid Morning
The first room is searched thoroughly but no secrets or valuables are located. The racks contain nothing but rusted metal and the banners are beyond any hope of value.
Before they move to the next area, Cyril dons one of the amulets the dead snake-men were wearing.........................but nothing happens.
The idea of using them to explore the area below the steps is broached and subsequently encouraged, but Cyril still looks exactly the same.
Moving to the next door, (13) the scent of dirt and fungus is still prominent inside this repurposed sleeping area. Pushing the door in reveals 2 recliners draped with blankets, and a few other small pieces of rotting furniture. Like elsewhere, the arrow slits in the outer wall have been mortared shut to prevent blowing sand from entering, and the rubble from the second floor has blocked a stairway leading down completely.
The southern wall depicts a hand painted mural shewing a frightening scene of slaughter and plunder in Xambaala, with many of the slave caste putting down their former masters to eventually take over the city. The artwork is crude at best, and clearly a recent addition to this room.
Actions?
Xenos AC:6 5/12 1st:2/2
Akhilleus AC:4 19/32 (2 Ioun stones)
Drest AC:7 7/16
Cyril AC:8 5/5 1st:2/3

Re: Tracks In The Desert
Akhilleus too but keeps his distance where many of the funghi are. Actually, he won't touch at all any areas covered by them.
Re: Tracks In The Desert
Drest
Excellent point.
Drest will also avoid the fungi.

Xenos waits on guard at the door while the others search the room.

Cyril
"Well there goes my grand dreams of wearing one of these amulets to make myself appear more handsome." He leaves it on and continues poking among the refuse with his quarterstaff.
"I do wonder what we will learn of that mirror. Who is carrying it by the way?"

Would he like to try anything while wearing it?
It's hard for me to tell what characters are thinking.

Squeeze it with your hand, think of something or say something along the lines of "Transform yourself".

The Ruined Warlords Palace
The Aftermath, Mid Morning
There is no actual fungi in the room, it only smells like fungi. (yes, that's a hint)
Nothing of value is found inside this room either, confounding the intrepid treasure hunters once again.
Asking the whereabouts of the small pane of glass they found earlier, Cyril concentrates on looking like one of the snake-men they fought, the ones who's heads are now prominently displayed inside the macabre kitchen with the stairway leading down.
His friends gasp audibly when they look upon their priest again, his appearance suddenly looking quite a bit different.
Actions?
That leaves two areas left to explore. Any preference to either 7 or 6?
Xenos AC:6 5/12 1st:2/2
Akhilleus AC:4 19/32 (2 Ioun stones)
Drest AC:7 7/16
