Something tells me we will die here.

We've been warned.

Yup. It won't even be the first time for Drest.

Bloody, Sleepy Time, Night

...It is there, out in that hallway, where he spots the pair of confused looking priests he saw in the kitchen earlier. They watch the battle with their heads cocked to the side with great interest. When the first slave goes down, both of these orange robed figures begin casting spells.
For the rest of the party - What do you think is the deal with these guys? I don't know if they are behind whatever is going on here or just a sideshow but they've got my attention.

OM - bravo on creating some interesting hooks here!

Maybe they're going to animate the bodies, or steal their souls!

Or just eat us. Either way we need to deal with them sooner than later. I would just like to be able to handle a hit from a dagger first.

Hmm, it's maybe too late for that.

Depends if Akhilleus flees into the desert or returns to see who's been eaten first.

It isn't looking good but I am trying to stay optimistic. Just hoping we can make new characters if we die here at this point.

Of course.

Both stones are still in place, orbiting the fighters head.

Has anyone figured out what the other stone does yet?

Nope on the other stone. I could look it up but I try and avoid doing those sort of things. The Con stone wouldn't give Drest any more hp. It changes his Con from 14 to 15 and that is the same hit point adjustment. So he would get a +1 to save vs poison (always very helpful, particularly for a scout) and better tests and survival, all good of course.

I know that each or rather certain ones might boost a character ability, +1 Con or Wisdom etc or boost experience or health (healing/regeneration). Not sure I have never had a character use one sufficiently.

One must help you sleep at least?
In her heavily sleeping state, the bleeding woman doesn't even seem to notice the atrocity.

I think it's quite the contrary. It helps you avoid the nasty effects of somniferous fumes :P

I know what they do, just not sure which one we have and haven't been trying to figure it out. It is getting interesting now.

I did what I could, guys.
It feels like we have been struck by really brutal rolls!

My average roll with the Drice Roller is about 6. I've been very lucky in this game with this character, but it looks I've abused my luck.

I've already thought about quitting the boards several times only because of the Dice Roller, to be honest. But all the other things make me stay.

The dice have been brutal. But then again I am playing a character with a 3 Chr in a game where we rolled 4d6 drop the lowest die, if that tells you how the roller has treated me. I just live with it everything else is too good to worry about the rolls.

The gas which poisoned us must be working different to just a 'Sleep' effect type of gas. Putting you out really in a comatose or paralysed state, especially if you can start slicing a victim and they don't wake up.

So once we have five out of six afflicted, it really just becomes game over for a single fighter against spell users and cannibal slaves. We have all ran this scenario, ambushing others and using advantage and skills to win a fight.

Pragmatically, I think we just lose this one graciously. I have archived Valkrina the Bard anyway as I don't think she will recover from bleeding out. She can join a heavenly choir somewhere.

On a lighter note, that gives me opportunity to create another character class if we carry on as a new group of shipwrecked travellers or try my hand at GM'ing a new campaign. (See my Spire: LfP post).

Should we be finished, I will be happy to start a new character. That said, Akhilleus is still swinging and I'm still hoping to explore Cyril's tenuous grip on sanity, worshipping Azathoth!
