Daisy
Daisy looks a bit flushed and excited after getting across. She composes herself quickly, and stands politely with her mace in-hand, but held at her side, rather than readied. She smiles, trying to be cute and disarming.

I guess the undead cat's got Maag's tongue.
Activation Station II, Cold And Dark
The Basement
"I see." The enticing voice stops momentarily, likely awaiting everyone's arrival to the dangerous side of the void.
Once everyone has either jumped or been tossed across the evil blackness in the floor, the voice from beyond the wall of darkness starts up again.
"Well Wake, I suppose you could address me as Sire. My Lord. Your Majesty. I might even settle for Your Highness, if you prefer. But I have always enjoyed, Your Excellence."
You hear the man inhale slowly and loudly, as if he is sucking in all of the air from the room.
"Never mind that nasty pool. I have a question for you before I reveal myself. But first, why don't you all step a little closer while we talk?"
If any of the group moves in, the voice inquires.
"You no doubt came from beyond the upper door, yes? How is it that you were able to pass that portal? What I am asking is......how did it open?"
The more the voice speaks, the more enthralled you become by its buttery tone.

The Princess
Something's not right about this guy. Clearly not human, she thinks, more confident, more arrogant. An arrogance that only comes from many years of dominance, which she knows from her own experience.
The Princess keeps her mouth shut, recognizing the power and trying to determine its exact nature. She stays just west of the nasty pool, ready to turn and jump back over the void. And now that she thinks about it, would make for a relatively decent jail door.

Re: Activation Station II, The Cold Basement
Okay, now I think something is actually going on. I wrote a couple of sentences for Maag yesterday and saved them. Came back later, loaded the draft, added a couple more and saved it again. Just tried to load it now and my most recent draft is Feb 3rd
.
Maag
Maag moves to the wall on his left, away from the pit and the pool. "Yeah, sorry about dat fing wiv der silent stuff, yer... Excellentcy". He stumbles over the word, though it's impossible to tell if it's a pronunciation problem or just Maag being Maag. "Dat was all down to me. Last time I woz in a place dat woz dis cold, an 'orrible screamin' dead fing attacked me".
Maag scratches the back of his head with his left hand and places his right fist in the small of his back as he stretches. "Just watchin' out for more of der same. Well, I mean I say dat it was dead but really it was undead, yer know what I mean?" Maag jerks the thumb behind his back in the direction of the voice and hopes somebody in the group notices.
"Der upper door? Yer mean der first one? Well, we woz walkin' on der beach, der woz a bright flash an' we woz outside a door wiv a puzzle about carryin' water. I let der pointy-'eads get on wiv it. I am not der sort of bloke dat does a lot of countin' and fings". Maag tries simultaneously buy time and present himself as being too stupid to pay attention to.

Activation Station II, Cold And Dark
The Basement
Once everyone is across the evil black void, the consensus seems to suggest not going inside the room any further. Feanol doesn't notice anything unusual about the walls or floor in the area she can see, but the black curtain concealing the voice remains intact.
You think you hear the sounds of chains clinking or moving around, but the noise is so feint, you can barely make it out as the seductive voice replies to Maag.
"Apology accepted. Now. Puzzles? A beach? My word. And that creature you met sounds incredibly dreadful, sir. Luckily, as you can all easily tell, I am quite alive. I was actually referring to the door at the top of those steps beyond the black, but please do explain what you mean by first door."
After Wake makes his comment, the voice seems to become a bit more agitated. "I will show myself once I am convinced your kind will be able to comprehend my perfection and ultimate beauty, sir. Do you speak for this group? If so, I might suggest you showing someone of my status and power a bit more respect."
"Now! All of you! Please do as I requested and step a little closer so I can better see you."
Can I get everyone to add a d20 roll with your next actions, please? I'm sure its nothing.

The Princess

The formality and arrogance of the voice remind her of home and she stiffens her spine and steps forward. She walks around the pool to the south and stops at the halfway point.
"Your Excellence. Please forgive my companions for their manners, the island is entirely lacking in refinement schools. I am Princess Bonalure Summerstars." She bows as she introduces herself. "May I inquire about your situation, your Excellence?"

Wake
Wake feels he is close enough, but will wait for this being that thinks it is all important to attack - since Wake believes that is what is going to happen next once everyone is in the area of effect.

Yrias is starting to get fed up with so much arrogance and secrecy. He casts Light at the general direction of the voice and to hell with the consequences.

Activation Station II, Cold And Dark
The Basement
In this frigid and half dark pool room, most of the party members ignore their polite command to step in closer. Feanol moves forward and tries to look beyond the magical darkness, but sees only more darkness. Maag bravely moves forward too, as slowly as you have ever seen the thief move before.
Luckily, the Princess takes control here, stepping forward to address this unseen voice with the respect she might show one of her parents. You can almost hear the voice suddenly smiling with glee through the darkness. "An island? Fascinating. And I am greeted by a Princess no less. My goodness, this is such a treat."
You hear the snap of fingers and the dark veil instantly vanishes, allowing all of you a good look at the rest of the room and the person behind the voice you seem so afraid of.
Standing at least 8 feet tall, this man appears almost too perfect to be a normal human, and his blingy golden chained attire is a bit over the top, especially in this cold, damp room. He smiles down at the beautiful elven princess, looking her up and down as one might look over a good steak. "Of course my dear Princess, I would be happy to....."
Unfortunately, once he recognizes that Yrias is currently verbalizing a spell, the imposing figure seems to get a little angry with the man. He stares deeply into the eyes of his overly aggressive visitor without saying another word. Then Yrias starts walking forward as well, apparently no longer able to control himself. He takes a few steps forward and appears about to walk directly into the pool of water under the floor.
The rest of the group notices a large ornamental golden throne directly behind this figure, sitting atop a raised dais about 2 feet off the stone floor. Behind this throne, etched into the stone back wall of this small room, is a circular diagram identical to the one found upstairs with the three headed giant, and also in the basement of the ruined temple searched earlier. Straddling this diagram are an identical pair of fixed wall sconces that appear to be empty clawed hands that might cup something spherical. Despite most of the room being clean and unadorned, a strange patch of some pungent brown substance is noticed sitting on the floor in the northeast corner. Wake's light coin shines brightly, sitting on the floor very close to this brown anomaly, making it difficult to ascertain its function from a distance.
