This shit ain't joking around! Still quite sore and running a low fever, but able to get a few things done.
Now...onward!

First off, Hedgeknight, glad you are on the upward swing again. Was really worried for you.

Second, halfway through the first week of school and starting to feel like I am getting a handle (loosely) on this group of kiddos. This year is going to be a challenge!

Third, (dang this is getting to be a list...) my father in law is getting a kidney this weekend, so that is actually more good news! Just stressful for my wife and kids, of course. I am fully confident he will outlive me, so I am not worried in the least

Finally, I have to be honest, I have been pretty absent for about 4 weeks now, maybe more if I am being honest with myself. Can I get the short version of what is going on right now so that I can make a meaningful post in the next day or so?

I feel the same way, Blue.
August has sucked shit for me and my family, but my son is in his assigned dorm room in college, and I am getting a little better every day. Last week was a rough work week (our school year begins tomorrow), just exhausted every day. My wife is on the mend, but still has to quarantine another three days.
Even though this week is the first week of school, I'm going to try and get a couple of posts in as you guys are now on in the final "chapter" of this module. I haven't checked the IC thread yet, so to answer your question, your group arrived in Barduk at the end of another Orc attack, to find out that Jetero was killed by a Drow assassin. Under interrogation, the Drow told of the old Cragson Mines where Iuz is using as a staging ground for infiltration into Furyondy. He's moving supplies and troops into this area, and luckily you've caught his intentions early, even though you do not know how many troops he has already moved here.
You left Barduk and Fort Critwall the next morning, with fresh supplies and four extra hands > two soldiers, a Dwarf smith, and his young helper. You have arrived at the bottom of the hill leading up to the mines. There are buildings on top (should be a map in there somewhere) and Muldgarr and Montego did some reconnaissance and found a back door cave entrance.
Now the decision is which approach to make.

Kids have lost their minds. At least, the ones at the middle school level have. Just some of the stupid shit they pull...and they could give a rat's ass whether they get in trouble or not. Every year I say these are some of the worst behaved kids I've ever seen...it's like I'm shocked from year to year. Can't wait to get out.

Hey folks > sorry for almost a week between posts; was trying to give everyone time to post actions.
However, from this point on, I'm going to post every 3 days or so (if not sooner). Not trying to push this toward a frantic end, but my goal is to be done by October 31.
Why, you ask?
Because, I am going to observe "No Net November" and pretty much stay unplugged and off the internet when not at work.
I'm doing this for me and my sanity and...damn it...just to see if I can do it!

So...let's crank this shit wagon into high gear and cleanse these freaking mines of the servants of Iuz!!

If you are moving back to the entrance tunnel, give me an approximate place you plan to make a stand. And who's in front?
Or...are you going to flee the cavern and perhaps set up an ambush outside in the woods?

Montego will man the front ranks with any others willing.

I suggest retreating to the three way intersection, tossing a few hay bales into the tunnel as obstacles, and setting up a position there where we can attack them from 2 sides.

If they beat us back, then we can all retreat out of the tunnel and try to use the cave mouth as another chokepoint.

I can post that as dialog IC, if you prefer.
