Grey: I think that last post should be in a different game thread! :)

Everybody: Okay; next post is up....action is heating up and I do believe that everybody except Grey is wounded.....there are a total of 9 opponents still firing; 2 in crossfire positions; 3 Stormtroopers across from Terra & Grey and 4 Stormtroopers across from Lord and Caius.

Angelic: Are you still with us amigo? I noticed you haven't posted in awhile. I had your character jump out to save Blissex mostly for two reasons....as the Healer of the group; you're going to be needed in the future! :)....and because I wasn't sure if you were still here. Please post soon or I'll have to look for another player to take over the role.

Hopefully everyone is still enjoying the game and let's keep it moving!

My apologies, my friend. I usually rely on my e-mail to keep me posted on new posts. Lately, however, I had not received anything new so I assumed it probably slowed down to a crawl. My mistake. I shall review the latest entries and get Borsk back in gear. Thanks for taking care of him in my accidental absence.

angelic: No worries amigo!

Everyone: I will make the next post tomorrow; but before I do I just want to note that anyone glancing over the edge will see La'Reth (with Blissex in his arms) gently floating down the shaft....picture the underwater descent of someone who just jumped off a diving board...i.e. slow enough to be able to land safely but definitely going down...if this makes sense. So....YES; anyone jumping over the side can be reasonably assured of a safe descent to the bottom of the shaft.

Also...due to the nature of the moment; everyone has 1 Force Point (even those who have spent 1 previously); this gives a boost of +3D to all skills and attributes for 1 round. No pressure to spend it; you'll be able to keep it if you don't....I just thought it might help! :)

Okay; next post up as promised.....barring any change to the last post by any changes Vargr might want me to make regarding Lord's actions; the only one currently still on the platform is Greystarr. La'Reth (and Blissex) are now at the bottom of the shaft; Terra, Lord and Caius are still in descent.

If anyone has any questions/concerns; please let me know....Jedi Skyler: don't worry; I know the situation looks a little bleak at the moment....but unless you guys all throw me for a complete loop; I think you'll be okay in the very near term! :)

It's alright, I suppose...lol

I at least got a post in there, even with Terra's practically unconscious self. ;)

Okey-dokey; next post is up...beginning of a new Episode! At this point; La'Reth and Grey Starr are the only ones able to undertake any and all actions with no penalties; everybody else is at -1D; though Terra and Blissex aren't truly wounded; they're just suffering the effects of being healed from such severe injuries with no real rest.

It is up to you guys if you'd like to make more Healing rolls for Caius and Lord; there are 6 remaining Medpacs.

It's starting to look like I might have to try and find somebody to take over the Lord roll.....or "write him out" of the story.....that's a shame...

Anybody got any questions/concerns?

Does Caius now have 2 force points, or can he have at most one?

Yes; characters can have more than 1 Force Point at a time.....I don't remember if Caius ever used one or not....so; I'll say that you have 2 Force Points.

Everybody else has 1 except La'Reth; who just used his for all the Healing....so he's currently at 0.

Next post coming soon (tonight/tomorrow).....also; I'm getting the impression that some of you may own or have read through/played through this adventure before and that's cool if you have....just note I will have some minor changes; though nothing major. Then again....maybe I'm way off and I'm just imaging things....:)

Okay....so I'm down to two of the originals (Angelic and NJ give yourselves a round of applause and I sincerely thank you both!); and it's become clear that Vargr has left these boards. So...what do we do about Mattel? Should I offer him to another player a la Terra? Bump him off a la Zeke? I really DON'T want to run him as an NPC and I think adding another new PC at this stage would be a bit too much....doing it once with Greystarr works; I think....doing it again is stretching things too far. What do you guys think?

Yay for the new post coming!

And I personally have not run this adventure before. ;)

Don't know if I really have enough clout to speak up yet, since I've only been on board for a short time. Yeah, it sucks to be missing a player.

If you want to keep the game rolling, but don't wanna NPC the character, and if there are no objections, I'm willing to take the character on until you find another player. I'm on a few other boards where I can advertise for another player, if that's the consensus. I certainly don't wanna seem like I'm power gaming or trying to take over; I'd just like to help keep things rolling along.

By all means, this is a group decision, so talk amongst yourselves. Just know I'm willing to help out. 8-)

I've no issues with Jedi Skyler taking the character over.

UPDATE: On a completely unrelated note, max_vale, how do you adjudictate the Telekinesis power? Is it done differently than in the 1st edition book, pages 78-79?

Sorry for the delay people; and as no one else has objected; Jedi Skyler will for now run the character of 'Lord' Mattel as well as Terra. Next post coming up momentarily.

Angelic: Here is the text for the "TK" power as I rule it; if you like; I can e-mail or PM you my document with how I rule all of the Force Powers. For the most part; they are pretty consistent with the book with the major difference being that in my rules; all Force Powers fall under only 1 Force Skill. TK; for example is an Alter only Power; Affect Mind is also only an Alter power in my rules vs. it falling under several of the Force Skills per the book

My house rules for the TK Power:

Telekinesis: This Power is used by the Jedi to move things with their minds. If used successfully the object(s) are levitated and moved as the user desires. The user can continue to move the object(s) as long as they keep this Power “Up”. It is possible to use levitated objects to attack others, though this should only be done in accordance with the Jedi Code and violating the code while using this Power can lead to Darkside Points. If the Jedi fails in the roll, the object(s) may shudder a little, but they will not move. The Difficulty Number depends upon the size of the object: 5 for items 1 kilogram or less in weight (2D damage if used to attack), 10 for objects 1-10 kilograms (4D), 15 for 11-100 kilograms (6D), 20 for 101 kilograms to 1 metric ton (8D), 30 for objects 1-20 tons (10D). Note: the damage may be different if the object being used for attack is a melee weapon or sharp object. If a weapon (such as a Lightsaber locked on) then the damage is as weapon, with a base Strength of 2D if applicable. If the object is a sharp implement, damage is as per GM guidance. All objects must be close by (within 30 meters) and if the Jedi wants to use TK on multiple objects, each object counts as 1 action being used, and if the Jedi wishes to make an attack with a TK’d object, then it is one use to levitate the object and a separate one to make an attack. The target may attempt to Dodge or Parry the attack if applicable. (Think of Luke using his Lightsaber to slice some of the objects Darth Vader hurls at him during their fight on Cloud City.) The Difficulty number for the attack is the same Difficulty number used for levitating the object of that size + 5 for each range category starting with Short; i.e. +5 for Short Range, +10 for Medium range, etc. There is no Point Blank or Extreme Range, and the maximum distance and object may be hurled is 30 meters. Range is determined as 10/20/30. TK can also be used to levitate oneself at a rate of 1 meter per round (Difficulty: 10), or to slow oneself while falling to mitigate injuries. The Difficulty number for this usage of TK is determined by how far the fall is: 5 meters or less: Difficulty 5, 10 meters: Difficulty 10, 20 meters: Difficulty 15, 30 meters: Difficulty 20, 30+ meters: Difficulty 30.

Example 1: Maxmith wants to levitate two objects that weigh 5 kilograms each. This would require two skill rolls, lowering his Alter Dice from 3D+2 to 2D+2, and he would have to roll higher than a 10 for each object.

Example 2: Danjac the Dark Jedi wishes to levitate a 10 kilogram stone and hurl it via TK at a pesky Rebel Soldier at short range (7 meters) standing in his way. This counts as 2 skill uses and so would lower Danjac’s Alter Skill from 6D+1 to 5D+1, and he would have to first roll higher than a 10 to levitate the stone in the first action, and then roll higher than a 15 to hit the soldier with it in the second action as the 10 kilogram stone requires a 10 to levitate and another +5 for the short range. If he is successful, the soldier will take 4D in damage.

Thanks for letting take on the new character. Would you please PM a copy of his stats to me? I make a habit of maintaining my own copy of all my character sheets on my computer; makes it infinitely easier for me to properly rp someone when I can see their strengths and weaknesses...and infinitely easier to add in some comic relief when they're trying to do something in which they have no skill...lol

I'll wait to make a post with Lord until I have the sheet to peruse. Max, if you'd like to include any notes about his personality and how he's been run up til now, I'll do my best to keep some continuity with the character. Unless, of course, he's been a pompous ass whom the rest of the party would just as soon see in a permanent bacta bath, in which case we'll have to look at some *ahem* reeducation...hehehe

Yikes! How soon will the horde of droids be upon us? They are advancing quickly. In what manner? Like a stampede? If the latter, then I am curious if Borsk can see any MSE droids in the group.

*Grey takes up rear guard and lets the others deal with the machine... even though he has his doubts about it. But a protocol droid wouldn't make a great assassin he supposes*
Yeah...unless it's a MODIFIED protocol droid...my very first PbP game had a guy running a heavily modified protocol droid; it had a modified blaster arm put on in place of one of its regular arms, as its creation had been commissioned by some rich public figure or other. The funny thing is that a certain key phrase triggered a subroutine that made the droid switch to a secondary personality set that allowed it to utilize the arm against civilians; it was a completely separate personality, and when the key phrase was given that changed it back to its primary protocol droid persona, it had no memory of having done anything in the secondary personality. Made for some fun and INTERESTING roleplay!
