"Have you seen other creatures like us, or their nests, in the direction that the sun sleeps?" he gestures to the west, roughly where we plan to travel

Hawk

"Oh, two-legs! Yes, there is a nest of two-legs in that direction, about a half-day's hunt. I do not usually fly that far, because there is little game near their nest, and they once tried to shoot me with flying branches."

"That is certainly wise, some two-legs are not friends to the animals and birds. Is it a big nest? More than the number of us here?"

He looks to Feargus and shrugs. "He did some magic thing a few moments ago. Don't know what it was for. Probably asking the tree which way is west."

The hawk tilts its head the other. "More, I think. But only two-legs. None of the four-legs that let you sit on their backs."

"Hunting is always bad when two-legs are around. Speaking of which . . ." The hawk fixes Newton with one of its beady eyes.

"I get it. One last, quick, question and then I'll hunt your meal. Are there any dangerous creatures we should be wary of around here?"

Newton heads over to the others "The hawk says there is nest of two-legs about half a days flight from here. More than us, no horses but they have bows. Now I have to catch it some breakfast"

Newton goes off hunting for a rabbit or similar creature for the hawk.

Nods and looks at Gardo. "I guess he talks to animals now." He looks back to Newton and says, "Can you just convince your hunting quarry to surrender itself now that you can talk to them?...might make things easier. Or maybe it makes it harder. If some giant yelled to me to surrender and prepare to be breakfast, I'd make myself scarce."

"This village though, assuming the villagers are Lawful they may have some information for us."

"We should be cautious. Two-legs doesn't necessarily mean humans, could be humanoids. Creatures tend not to discriminate between the two like we do, from their point of view we are all two-legs."

It's a matter of ten minutes or so for Newton to find and bring down a plump squirrel. The hawk looks disdainfully at Newton but quickly swoops down, grasps the squirrel in its talons, and flies up to its perch, where it begins to quickly devour the animal.

"Excellent work! Whether friend or foe, we are forewarned." Ardath saddled up, finished his prayers from up on the warhorse, and made sure his gear was in place for the trip. "Lead on!"

He leads the group off to the west.
