It's entirely possible that this is an example of the right and left hands of the imperium not meeting

(OOC: Your goal, in its broadest terms, is to permanently put pirate operations here out of commission. How you do it has been left up to you. If there are pirates openly operating on Avastan then someone must be giving them logistic and operational support. The elimination of that strategic function is your mission goal. Of course, a detailed understanding of the mechanics of what's going on here would really help you to decide which people or things to break. However, 268 is always a murky arena and you Intel so far is limited...

However, you do know both that The Imperium and the Outworld Coalition may be sponsoring their proxies here. Trexalon and McClellan want you to take out the pirates. The pirates appear to be supported on Avastan by someone so maybe the Intel question is "Who's backing the pirates both strategically and locally?"

You are, of course, already in possession of the odd piece of significant information... but may well feel you need to develop more... ).

I have a bad feeling about this mission. I think we're going to have to tread very carefully. We have taken the ticket, so we're doing the job, but it seems to be directed at covert Imperial assets. Our best hope is that joertexas is right, there are conflicting Imperial-supported forces, and we can enlist one against the other. Heck, if we're really lucky the Imps have decided to replace the pirates with the farmers and take the place over...

As Tiglath has already said in the IC thread, we need to do our recon under cover, as civilians.

We also need to screen the hold with a wall of cargo containers. The ration crates should do. We've got Jess' buggy as a runabout, it's the most civvy-looking thing we've got. Though I suppose if we take the 'dozer blade off the REME raft it will pass as a works van.

You'll only need your screen of ration boxes/tent quarters to be AFV high - unless folk are going to be invited on board.

Thanks to your original "paramilitary purchases" you also have the "Technical" and the HQ bus which, if disarmed are once more the civvy vehicles they always were.
