Re: OOC
Are any non-weapon proficiencies in play?
Are the weapon modifiers against armor class types going to be used?
Are weapons from Oriental Adventures available to non-OA classes (right now I'm thinking about the tetsubo)?

Though punches against heavy armor I usually apply a minus.

On Chaos, Law and the Cosmic Balance
This information is not needed to play the adventure, but for those interested in knowing more... Law and Chaos are the dominant metaphysical forces in constant struggle, but they are kept in check by the Cosmic Balance, an even more powerful force for neutrality. There are many planes of existence in the Multiverse. In some the Lords of Chaos are strong, in others weak. In some, they do not exist at all. Variations exist in the allegiance of intelligent races to Law or Chaos. More information on this mythos can be found here.
That said, the usual pantheons of deities (e.g. from Deities & Demigods) do exist in their respective areas of this vast plane. They fall under Law, Chaos or Balance by their alignments, even if they do not involve themselves in squabbles of supremacy on earthly or unearthly planes.

Re: OOC
In the marching order, Idwillen is walking frequently. His Pony Friend is sturdy, but he is a lot of weight for her. She mostly is a pack beast. Fortunately his long legs and good health enable him to keep pace ...
He most likely is in the rear, trusting his size and spear to dissuade danger. It would be good to have a stronger combatant next ahead.
Also - I was hoping for a bit more out of the Druid Knowledge special ability. Specific'ly: would any of these plants have snagged and eaten the body? Which ones would be best to ask what happened? Which ones are edible?

Re: OOC
Poltux is willing to lead or bring up the rear, he suspects perhaps that the party may be better with a ranger up front.
Ianin would prefer to stay toward the middle of the group in the marching order.
Would the second rank be able to fire/hurl missiles over or through the front rank?

Re: OOC
Feel free to incorporate specific character thoughts/goals in what you're doing in the Action post. The druid has been observing plant life through the swamp journey. Carnivorous plants were seen in the distance, not near the body. There is a chance the body could have been poisoned by a plant. The best plants to ask would be those near the body. You've seen few edible plants.Eulalios wrote:...would any of these plants have snagged and eaten the body? Which ones would be best to ask what happened? Which ones are edible?
Thanks for the marching order preference. How is this?
1. Andover the Ranger
2. Poltux the Fighter
3. Flint the Illusionist
4. Shen the Monk
5. Ianin the Magic User
6. Honnilee the Thief
7. Bjorn the Cleric
8. Idwillen the Druid
Second rank may or may not be able to fire/cast past first rank depending on the size of the corridor or room.
Double File:
Poltux - Andover
Shen - Flint
Ianin - Honnilee
Bjorn - Idwillen
Re: OOC
I'd propose this alternate order:
1. Andover the Ranger
2. Poltux the Fighter
3. Shen the Monk
4. Bjorn the Cleric
5. Ianin the Magic User
6. Flint the Illusionist
7. Honnilee the Thief
8. Idwillen the Druid
Double file:
Poltux - Andover
Shen - Bjorn
Ianin - Flint
Honnilee - Idwillen
That puts Bjorn, who has no ranged attacks (but a low AC and adequate HP), closer to the front ranks. The first two ranks are all fighters, the remaining casters are toward the middle, and the thief is toward the back where he can more easily escape notice in melee to sneak around the battle.

Re: OOC
jdluna will now be playing Zhym's dwarf cleric Bjorn. Thanks Zhym for offering him up to make room for another player!
Re: OOC
Either is fine with me. The Illusionist being close to the Monk would actually be beneficial to both.
Looks good to me. She still has friends on all sides, that's what she was looking for.the thief is toward the back where he can more easily escape notice in melee to sneak around the battle.

Re: OOC
Unless anyone objects, we'll go with this marching order. Unless it's noted otherwise, the party will be assumed in this order in corridors, thinner paths, etc. Outdoors, you'll be in double file. I'll put this list in the 'HP / XP / GP / Marching Order' thread. Thanks.
