Thanks so much. I'm glad the game con go on for you guys. My issue was with our DM alone, and I had never intended to blast the whole thing.

Good gaming for you!

Just a quick update to give an official welcome to Grognardsw who (assuming Sir Clarence is staying on with Andrin) will be playing Thurinor. :D

While we're on that topic, any objections to SC staying on? I'm fine with that and would prefer to treat things as water under the bridge, but now is the time to voice any opinions to the contrary...

I'm going to post in response to some of the questions that have cropped up in the current action thread (like, where are we and where are we going?). Once the technical details of switching characters are ironed out and everyone has responded with their vote of where to go/what to do next (by Friday at the latest), I'm ready to start things up again in earnest...

Thanks for your patience everyone!

Hello All! Thanks for letting me join. I've been catching up on all those action posts and it seems the key information is the poem from the woman in the woods. I take it we are the group of men referred to, and are now proceeding based on clues in the poem.

Hi Grognardsw, welcome!

Everyone has been transported to this place The original group was flown in by rocs to the top of the mountain, Thurinor and Stonjus were spirited at different points later and Swilbosh lived here. Ogirdor's objective is to get out of here and find a way back to civilization, since there has been no sign thus far indicating where in the world this place is.

Omens and songs are nice, but they don't change Ogirdor's original resolution of finding a way back.

Letting? I'd say we are lucky to have you.
So you are gonna play Thurinor while ragnbnshpr takes over the helm of our 'ship of fools'.
Vargr called us fools. Maybe we are. Stonejuice the Ironhead has certainly been called that before.

Getting off the mountain, back to some sort of civilization is the main party goal.
If the clues fall in line with the main goal, then yes, all of that is, or could be taken as, true.
Whether we actually ARE the group of men referred to? No idea.
The poem is new, and we were just now starting to disect it when the turtlepoo hit the fan.
Welcome aboard the ship.

i would request to know something more detailed as for reason. I saw nothing in vargrs play that would have set me off. His decision to abandon all his dm spots here (3 i think) was sudden, and i would ask the same of him, if he was to again state that he desired returning.
Did you feel ignored? Something else?
I've left a game here before, for selfish reason of my own probably, so I'm not one to throw rocks, but i would like to know.

Welcome to the game, Grognardsw. I agree with Stonjuz that we mainly want get out of this place, but I fear that we are tied to this place by fate and will only be able to leave after we have played our role in this prophesy.

ragnboneshopper,

I PMed you three times today, but have some doubts whether the messages have reached you. They seem to be stuck in my outbox and don't appear under "sent messages". Can you confirm?

Thanks!

I believe that they show in outbox until the recipient open them. It isnt "stuck" per se...

Sorry again for the missed communication, Sir Clarence, not sure what happened there. I see you've got my PM in return.

I believe we're ready to move on from the DM transition unless someone has a pressing issue regarding what I am going to consider water under the bridge. I think Vargr made the best decision for him, I wish him the best, still play alongside him in two other games, and that's case closed for me.

Let me also just say that as I take things forward, I'm very aware that I'm building on a foundation very well built by Vargr. I hope I can do it some justice, I don't plan to change anything specifically (other than theme music -- no plans to continue that, it's not really something I can do without a lot of effort, not my thing, but you all are welcome to post theme music if you want).

I'm sure my style will be somewhat different, and do feel free to raise any concerns with me either here or by PM. As I've told others recently, I'm a teacher by training, so I'm used to and appreciate communication/questions. At the same time, I'll take no news as good news, so no excuses for not speaking up. 8-)

One thing I wanted to touch on briefly is rate of posting. Vargr had set up a 2-day window for posting during combats, after which he reserved the right to move things forward and NPC any "silent" players. I'm not sure how much he actually did so, but unless there are objections (which I'm happy to hear) I intend to use that system and to extend it to out-of-combat as well. In combat I'll NPC anyone missing as gently as possible ( :o ) and outside combat I will just assume the silent player's character is "tagging along" and staying out of trouble as much as possible. So, I'll plan to post a major update every other day, with possibly a single post for any needed clarifications in between. Unless I've heard from everyone, at which point I may push things forward faster.

Any objections/questions/comments? If nothing further, then enough talk from me. Let the dice decide!

Sounds good to me. That being said, I will be able to post tomorrow, but then will be sketchy from Saturday till Tuesday over the Labor Day weekend. Gonna be sans electronic devices for a few days...

That's cool, Chub, and thanks for letting us know. The two days is a general guideline just so we all know what to expect and no one is surprised if I move things ahead. If for some reason half of us or more will be out of touch for a few days, we'll just call for a breather. This is supposed to be fun, not a part-time job, right? :D

For Labor Day, why don't we just call it slow going for Saturday to Monday and we'll pick it back up in earnest on Tuesday. I'll post an update now and play it by ear over the holiday.

I've got a trip in about three weeks, myself, so there will definitely be a 5-6 day slowdown starting the 18th...
