Inchin: Endgame
Re: Inchin: Endgame
Prerna keys her comm. "Colonel, we're facing three Ine Givar troopers from Urvash's group. We need to hit them all at once to take them out. I'm working my way east on the upper deck to flank them."

Freya knows lifts access it but don't stop there.BackworldTraveller wrote: ↑Fri Mar 26, 2021 8:50 pm So how do you get onto that balcony?...because if that is a weapons pit, it's vulnerable from above.
However, the most direct is the stair cases up (already found by Prerna to be either side of the snack bar / showers).
This involves being shot at on the east stairs!
Maybe some even more folk don't want you up there?
Why would that be?

Jakob
Jakob hears Liv talking to him "Hey, Marine, wake up!"
He does - it's quiet but not silent. Tech hums quietly and his arm hurts. A firefight close by and the smell of antiseptic.

Re: Inchin: Endgame
Jakob smiled, "Hey Beau..."
His head began to clear. Sounds of battle, far away. Moans of pain and despair, close at hand. The pain of healing in his arm.
"Help me sit up," he said. As Liv helped him upright, he looked at the MedKit's readout. "Must have double pumped the med injector. Mouth tastes funny, always does."
He quickly scanned the room, he was one of the fortunates. "Who..."
"No one," Liv whispered. "Except me and the MedKit."
Jakob looked around again, and then shut down the MedKit with his left hand. "It's done what it can, they need it more. Grab that blue spray can there, antiseptic. Spray my cut and then use that staple gun to hold the skin together. That'll give the nanites the best chance of success."
Comm on. "Colonel Cross, Lieutenant Domici. Sorry for the delay, sir. I'm in sick bay and coming back on line. There's no medic here, sir, lots of wounded. Orders?"

Jakob
Liv kisses him and states "Hmmm, tastes just fine. Oh, and that was for not dying but don't think for a minute that you're off the hook for nearly dying". She taps a display on the Medkit "It wouldn't dose you with clotting agents or protein repair factors because you were already running SuSAG factory grade pharms and trauma meds when I slapped my 'kit on you. Ms East was duty medic before me and, in fairness, is actually very qualified in the role but should I be worried about the favouritism?"
She carries straight on with "We didn't loose anyone and your squad fought hard and well - you should be proud of them. Let Beau tell you the tale. Skip's squad took the initial brunt of it but if we hadn't engaged early the whole unit would have suffered. Maybe Prerna and Erica had the same dream as me? The initial brief is that the Guard were caught cold and are now combat ineffective as a unit".
She adds "The really good news is that there's what is looking a lot like a spaceborne task force insystem and, after their strike mission, this place is wide open". She sighs frustratedly "We had no inkling of this at all! There is what seems to be blatant Sword World involvement here - but I just can't see their angle".

Frank
"It's good to hear you lieutenant. I think we're going to need your help in medbay, there are stretchered guards due to arrive any time. Ensign, what is your assessment on Jakob's fitness for combat duty?"
"Three? Hold on major, stay put until we work out how to hit them right.
Frank, pulls up the feed from the battle computer, noting the enemy locations and marking up LOS's and considering options...

Re: Inchin: Endgame
Agony. Blood, Antiseptic. Gunfire. Jakob grinned.
"On it, sir." Jakob did a hasty body count as he handed Liv the comm, and then gave her a rough and cynical estimate of 'seriously wounded' and 'may be able to return to the line'. "Pass that along. I'm good for this, and could get back into armor if needed. Let him know we'll secure this area and establish a fall back position."
Jakob grabbed a weapon (OOC: assuming one was handy) and did a quick scout of the hallway and nearby rooms. With the lesser injured (OOC: assuming they exist) he organized a team to put anything useful as a barrier in place to slow down attackers and provide a warning. That started, he knew how much space he had to work with and how well his unit could defend sickbay.
Back into the room itself, he did a rapid 'open every drawer and door' to mentally catalog what medical supplies were available. The TL 15 MedKit would make a perfect bioscanner.
"Okay, to work." He looked at Liv, and smiled warmly. "We make a great team. Let's get that one on the table first. Our priorities are to stop death, and then to return the combat effectives to the line. No sense healing someone if we lose the fight and all get killed afterwards."
Jakob put on medical gloves and went to work. "Favoritism? The four of us were running around naked and killing things before everyone else engaged. If there wasn't a rumor about us having some weird tribal family thing happening, there certainly is now. With the wedding and the killing, it's an interesting family. I wonder if Erica needs someone to give her away? Frank would probably do so for Prerna, if she needed someone."
"Hmmm..." He dabbed blood out of the wound and went liberal with the internal antiseptic. "If either of them objects, just remind them that men like to do that for women. Builds the family bond, and lets any trouble-makers know just how risky messing with the newlyweds can be."
Gentle suturing. He paused, and then looked up at Liv. "That goes for you, too. If your family is close by, I'd love to meet them. If not, well, I can find you a few hundred Domici who would be honored to serve you."
Back to the needle. "Too many angles to compute. Too many factions, and they control the flow of battle. The Marine response is heavy counter-attack; take control of the battle space and throw the enemy off their secure thought processes. Once scared, they drop all the confusing stuff and focus on just what's important to them. That's when you get the good intel."
Medical Priorities:
1. Stop Death
2. Return combat effectives to the line.
General Medical [2d6+3]=10+3=13
Secure and Organize Sickbay (Tactics) [2d6+4]=10+4=14
Comfort and Inspire the wounded (Leader) [2d6+4]=11+4=15

Updated Map
Legend (based on calculated enemy positions):
A LMG
D Grenadier
E Laser Support Wpn???
Black 7 swimming/wading northwards
KIA (less visible in white) is the dead LAG gunner
The grey "cloud" is just that - caused by the detonation of a smoke grenade (possibly a pair) the smoke is "hot" and opaque to your IR sights.
Hopefully this will help planning!

Please ignore P E B to the south who crept on from an earlier incarnation of the map.

Re: Inchin: Endgame
By now you'll have been able to get about halfway up/north the eastern balcony (denoted by the dotted lines on the map). Once behind the (reassuringly expensive) parapet you can perform a "crouching run" unsighted from the lower floor.
For reference there's a tree below the word spa on that part of the map - you're there!

But, of course, you are actually above it on the balcony!

Re: Inchin: Endgame
Prerna
Prerna lights up the three gunners on the team's tactical map, and designates the grenadier "G" for Easy. She tags the happy happy laser gunner "Z" for herself. She also puts up a "do not engage" target where the Baron is in the northwest corridor, with a marker showing him moving south.
"Priority targets," she announces. "The Baron is being taken prisoner, he has two guards; that's the do not engage target. Easy and I are engaging two of the three targets in the pool area."
She takes a breath, and pops up just enough to target the happy happy laser gunner with an aimed burst from her ACR. Then, she gets the hell down and moves further north.

Frank sends the tactical feed to Jakob, flagging it for his immediate attention
Officers channel: "Domici, we have the need for speed and you are the closest. Can you get first squad to the NE doorway and assist the Major taking out that gatling laser, tell Nuts to bring his PGMP. Watch out for the grenadier and don't get yourself killed. Southern units, be ready to take on targets of opportunity once the laser is no longer an issue."
He'll mark the NE doorway with a big red X

Jakob glanced at Liv. "Roger that Colonel, gearing up and heading out. Will alert you when we're in place."
He had gotten into his uniform earlier, Liv kept muttering something about too many staring women in the AO. Weapons abounded, and the squad was already checking mags and charging weapons. Not much else to do.
He used his elbow to mute the comm and looked at the blond haired goddess on his table. Liberal dose of antibotics, two last stitches done fast. "You're a hell of a woman, Vitt. Grab a weapon and guard the civvies. I'll max out the MedKit, you and Liv should be able to take care of things. Don't screw up my handiwork, either."
Jakob quickly wiped Vitt's abdominal blood from his hands to the cloth apron, and then tapped the MedKit into overdrive. An "I know" kiss with Liv and then Nuts handed him an ACR. Jakob readied the rifle, loaded the grenade launcher as they trotted north, and felt mags and hand grenades bouncing in his pockets.
Back on the comm. "Nice map. They have a dead zone behind the main waterfall. Recommend First Squad comes through the door with greandes on D, PGMP on A, and some lunatic sprinting to the waterfall for cover. That puts one of ours near the baron. Said lunatic hopes his team mates can tell him from the bad guys. That work for you, sir?"

Freya
The "F" team, make their way up to the roundabout shrubs and settle in - not going any closer in case Frank feel's the Pilot is too at risk. She takes the opportunity to (carefully) scan the Spa area looking for the exposed barrel and (possibly) some head or appendage at the stock-end.
And waits for the "Go" announcement. Even if there isn't a direct shot at a person, a round through the sight, receiver or recoil mechanism might save someone from harm.

"I think it's our only option Lieutenant. Sargent-Major are you happy looking after the lads here, while Major Ghoshal and I slip around one door north and take out Spa guy? That's if you're up for a trip Major? I'll need your help unlocking the doors."

Freya
As soon as the "Go" is given, Freya takes her shot. (Gun, Hand, Finger, Head all seem possible but not having sight down the gunsight I'm not exactly sure)
Misc: [2d6]=7 + GM's DMs
n.b. +INT+Skill is another +4. No idea what bonus I get from aiming for ever. Nor for cover, range, etc.

Can I please have a roll to Hit from Frank?
Can I please have a roll to Hit from Kit?
This is on the outflanked A so the choice is either one snap shot at -2 or a (pre primed) grenade toss (roll under your Dex on 2d6).
