Following today's Partial Survey, I can confirm that there is some work to be undertaken, and when I complete the inspection tomorrow will be able to confirm the extent of that work. The administrators here have noted that the vessel's space-worthiness certification has expired. Should you wish us to do so, we can extend the survey to the point where such a certificate could be issued. This would attract the standard fee of Cr20,000 (including registration of the certificate) but we would not then charge additionally for today's work.
I would note that, given the state of the hull, the certificate would initially be subject to a schedule of mandated improvements, but this would allow you to operate legally for 28 days while those improvements were being arranged and undertaken.

Reven Stiilpahth Right, I can do that before i head north. Do I need a release for or anything?" Reven takes whatever authorization he needs, then goes to retrieve the air raft and bring it to the ship. Once that's done, he heads out for the North Pole Space Port; checking the local info kiosk on where that exactly is.ateno wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 2:07 pm”Do you have time to get my air raft”cybersavant wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 7:04 am Reven Stiilpahth if you need me to do something else tonight."[/i][/dialog]

Re: Chapter Six: All the shareholders together?
Reven

It takes a good hour to find the hanger where the bright green air-car is stored and procure it's release. And then you have to talk traffic control into allowing it to be moved to dock 13-13 as airspace over the port is controlled - You have to file a flight-plan for their records.
The flight itself is easy, the car is quite plush and the AI fairly bright. Entry to the dock sees the gates opened (everyone aboard feels the gravity temporarily drop) and then you have to wait while the hanger is evacuated, door opened, and then (after you land) closed and re-pressurised.
And then you have to trudge back to the port to find the place that you are looking for. The 400 cubic km of port is a massive place. The flight has made you realise this. It was nearly 20km from Pranit's air-car garage to the bay 13-13. And 8 years means a lot will have changed as the port has expanded and altered over that time.
Finding the exact spot is going to be very hard (No definite image to show anyone, you dont' know the layout) - unless you can come up with a good plan to localise the spot - which should make the task easier. Also which skills are you intending to apply and what help will you seek?

Re: Chapter Six: All the shareholders together?
Reven
Reven spends some hours walking the huge volume that is the North Pole Starport, eventually finding himself somewhat lost, tired and demoralised. It takes him a further hour to get back to bay 13-13. Some parts looked familiar and others just plain wrong.
As he is trudging back up the tunnel to the ship, he notices that the adjacent bay - 13-12 - is busy with a tanker standing by and a bus loading passengers. For some reason, the bus is displaying the flag of New Heaven in the front window.

Walks up to the Captain.
"Hey Boss, I might need a med day tomorrow. I forgot about my shoulder and was to busy when I was scanning. I'll be available by comm."
Pranit will go to a local pharmacy. "Got any healing nanobots?
Pranit buys some pain reliever, cooling pads and heating pads and a couple sleep aids, checking with a pharmacist to see if there are any warnings involving the WideAwake pill he took this am with what he wants.
He heads back, takes the pain reliever, wraps his affected ares with cold and tells Queen that he is off duty and begins watching that
series he never got a chance to before.
Pranit

Re: Chapter Six: All the shareholders together?
Reven
What is curious is that the vessel is a pilgrim ship (The Redemption) - usually travelling full of mid-class pilgrims to the New Heaven shrines...The number of passengers disembarking are far to few for that to have been profitable...and the pilgrim trade is usually families not 20-30 year olds with crew-cuts. (Broker Roll+EDU: 2d6=12+0+3-->15!). These have to be a New Heaven Religious Outreach team or Government (not a lot of difference).

Indrani returns to the work of readying the ship for human habitation, and storing everything she can from the supplies they piled into the cargo hold. She works until dinner time, and then she stops to make a meal for whomever is still aboard.BackworldTraveller wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 8:31 pm

Re: Chapter Six: All the shareholders together?
The crew deck is looking tidy by the time she finishes.
Clean might need a plasma torch (or sandblaster).
But the crew could run for 4 weeks without starving or drying out.
The wall panels are at least giving some decoration, but several are non-functional - or star-cracked where they have had things thrown at them at some point in the past.
The Passenger desk is in dire need of stripping to the bulkheads. The galley storage units are at least stainless and have cleaned up enough to store stuff...now that the fridge has been bleached, twice. The library seems to have survived the occupation relatively unscathed but needs a proper dust and the chairs have seen better days - they didn't take the deep-freeze well.

Captain, You have been cleaning in silence for the last hours. Is that your normal preference?

Reven Stiilpahth watches the passengers disembark for a bit, then enters the Queen's bay to crash for the night after telling whoever is aboard about pilgrims next door. In the morning he resumes with helping restore the ship.

Queen & Indrani
I will note your preference. What would you like to talk about?
Pottering about on the bridge, Indrani finds a box from the recent crates delivery containing 18 short-range comms headsets: Good for 100m (ish). There is a charger too - it allows 6 at a time to recharge.

Queen
Captain Celisse would talk about sealife. Do you like sealife?
Many new species have been found since I was turned off.
Indrani can see that this is going to be more of reading from library sources than a conversation. The queen may have human level logic, but personality is more geek than the finest geek and empathy is close to nil.
It also explains some of the paper books in the library.
