Mac will hold where he is at as the others look around, he is ready to move to aid whoever needs help.

Joker
Was there a problem outside? Joker is clearly oblivious to what happened to the others.
Yes, we should be methodical. I suspect our target is upstairs, but I do not want to miss anything. He heads for the unmapped room in the SW of the house

Lionel will advance into the hall, stopping at the first door to listen for any sounds from the other side before opening it.

Investigation #5 turned job: The Haunting of 601 North E Street Out front
September 10, 2018, 12:26 pm
Unnaturally Cold Inside - Getting a little windy outside
Joker Moves through the house into the large sunlit Living Room. There is an exterior door to the right, and Jason stand in front of a large ornate fireplace. The room itself is large but empty. The carpeted floor looks new. There is another door in the southeast corner, other than that, there is a high ceiling and what were likely nice light fixtures circa 1940.
Joker Begins to get some pings on his PKE, and Jason is getting something on his phone as well.
Roy follows Joker and Jason into the room and turns left into the hall. He stands in front of the split staircase, one half going down to the basement that Mac mentioned exploring earlier, and the other half heading up to the second floor. It looks like the staircase goes on further still.
Mac hangs back to assist where needed, he gets nothing other than the eerie feeling coming from the dining area.
Lionel Moved further into the house, standing in front of the first door he sees to his right. When he opens the door, he sees this:
Roll me a Hard Cool. If you make >20 you are free to act as you choose.
Failure means you lose a turn somehow, I will let you narrate that how you choose, if you pass go ahead and roll what you would like to do and I will post a reply accordingly.
Some actions will have higher difficulties than others, but I don't want to make a huge list and leave you feeling like it is multiple choice.

Roy was going to continue into the livingroom but for some reason he turned and went to the hallway so he decides to keep going that way and follows a round about route to circle back towards the living room through the room left unchecked.

My mistake, Ed. Did you originally want to go through the door on the south side of the living room?GreyWolfVT wrote: ↑Tue Jan 12, 2021 1:21 am Roy was going to continue into the livingroom but for some reason he turned and went to the hallway so he decides to keep going that way and follows a round about route to circle back towards the living room through the room left unchecked.

-If you still want to go down the route past Lionel, you will of course see him puking in the hall.
-Want to change your post for that or I can write an amendment to my above post to place you in the south room.
Just let me know

Joker
Joker continues taking readings and notes, watching the data for anything interesting as he does.
(brains) [4d6] = 14 ghost [1d6] = 4
Once this room is recorded, he'll head east, to the remaining un-explored room.

You've got that eerie feeling.September 10, 2018, 12:35 pm
Unnaturally Cold Inside - Getting a little windy outside
Mac Is feeling much more himself and dares another look into the Dining Room. It is still oozing ectoplasm from what looked like a rotten ceiling. Now that he is calm and gets a good look, he can certainly tell it seems to be coming from the ceiling and oozing downward. It reminds him of looking at a room that has a water leak for a long while, it runs down the walls and drips from the ceiling, pooling on top of the dining table and floor. Again, if Mac removes the goggles, everything seems physically fine, but outside of the physical spectrum, there is some deep rot here.
Roy pokes his head into the hall and then walks deeper into the house until he is in the back room. It doesn't take long to figure out that this is a large guest room. There is a door leading east to the patio he saw earlier when exploring around the carport, a door to the north which is open that leads into the hallway. A closet and two large windows on the south wall. It is very well lit, even in the cloudy conditions since it faces southward and offers a good view of the back yard.
Joker, while using his Analog PKE gets some pings and directs him over to where Jason is getting a reading from the fireplace. This energy is more in tune with what they were reading outside with the containment field than it is with the other energies moving around within the house itself.
The Fireplace is simply-build but ornate. It looks about as old as the house itself. It is Joker's PKE that seems to pull more towards the corner. And due to combined rolls... The two busters see a seam in the side of the fireplace:
Fireplace:
Lionel sees something he wishes he hadn't! It is one of those things that veteran busters tell students in the academy that is unavoidable and will likely haunt your nightmares and waking hours the rest of your like. As he sees the specter of a hanging woman in the closet rip her face off and screams, it sends Lionel in a deep bowl vomit of fear. He is unable to get away from the whaling image of the gruesome scene. He is frozen in place losing his stomach right there in the hallway.
Everyone would be able to hear this, both the unearthly scream as well as Lionel's retching.

Joker nods, as if the readings were exactly what he expected. We may have found the core of the troubles here... He looks at the seam and the surrounding area.
Jason, you are probably better with mechanical things than I. Joker steps back, keeping close watch on the data flowing across the screen on his PKE.

Roy takes some readings if he can and checks the closet or whatever the door in the guest room hides (bottom left of the map in the guest room I am assuming a closet?)

Not leaking so much and emitting energy. You do see that the area around the top seems to be less a crack and more of a seam in the wood. Checking it, you see that it is loose.Taaz wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 5:14 pm Yeah its like its leaking... He keeps looking at the side,
I dont think this is enough to get much, but hes trying to see if hes right and it is leaking.

Correct. Roy opens the closes door and seems like just another empty closet with a few hangers left by the last occupants.GreyWolfVT wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 5:35 pm Roy takes some readings if he can and checks the closet or whatever the door in the guest room hides (bottom left of the map in the guest room I am assuming a closet?)

When they try it, the panel opens and slides out. Old pain crumbles and there is a thick blanket of cobwebs. The PKE reading raises just slightly. You have found a hidden drawer amid a cloud of old dust.
