Map: Before
Ferris opens the door.
New Room Description:
The chill in this room is almost as heavy as is the dust. Four wooden chairs surround a carved mahogany table. Overlooking the scene are more than a half dozen pairs of glass eyes, winking hack from the numerous stuffed hoar, deer, and other animal heads on the south and east walls. A stuffed brown hear is frozen in a snarling charge; it stands in the southeast corner. A skeleton with four arms holds guard in front of the door on the west wall. Twin pinpricks of blue light dance in its dark eye sockets. It holds a sword, a hand axe, a mace, and another sword in its hands.

Ferris
"oh $!@#. I might be needing that potion!" The gnome exclaims as he steps into the room.
to be fair if I have opened the door to view stuff he would have taken a step forward.
So I immediately cast 'Darkness' upon myself and roll tumbling across the room to the direction of the table in the middle. Hoping the sudden absence of all light makes me more difficult to be hit by the skeletons impending attacks.

Yagul
Can Yagul see anything once the Darkness spell is cast? Did he see the skeleton before the spell was cast?

Monty
The Paladin, upon spying the skeleton, unstraps her quarterstaff, and moves to face the undead thing head on!
Unsure about how using it two handed works and two attacks.
As well, like Rex, do we still see the skeleton due to the darkness?
In case we can not see it due to darkness Monty will use her detect evil power to guide everyone to approximate area it is.

Re: Part 1: Fighters Academy (IC Section 1)
sorry I did not move any PC tokens on the map Ferris would be just inside the door, Yagul was the closest to the door at the time it was opened so yes he would see into the room though most likely if nobody else moved forward nobody but Ferris would see the Skeleton other than perhaps Yagul it would be up to them to relay this information. As for how 2-handed attacks work RTFM (not in a rude manner, Read the Friendly Manual aka PHB ) Darkness was cast directly on Ferris if I read that correctly so the darkness moves with the gnome. So yes you can see through it.

Monty
She does not have Two Handed Weapon slot for a 1/4 staff type so she will just whack at the Skellie once
Attack with the Quarterstaff [1d6] = 5
Definitely a miss!

Yagul
"Skeleton, to your left as you pass through the door."
Yahul moves on the skeleton and attacks.
Scimitar [1d20+2] = 18+2 = 20 to hit [1d8+5] = 3+5 = 8 damage
Scimitar [1d20+2] = 12+2 = 14 to hit [1d8+5] = 4+5 = 9 damage
If he ends up fighting in the darkness, he has the blind fighting NWP so he is -2 instead of -4.

Re: Part 1: Fighters Academy (IC Section 1)
McTavish tries to turn but for some reason or another the crazy four armed skeleton does not move the turn appears to have had no effect. please note this may or may not be based on the turn roll but could in fact mean the creature is not what it appears to be.

OOC- It definitely is not what it appears to be. It has a pair of Goggles where it's junk should be.

Re: Part 1: Fighters Academy (IC Section 1)
Battle with a 4 armed Skeleton R0
Initiative NPCs [1d10] = 2 PCs [1d10] = 3 the skeleton goes first!
4 Armed Skeleton AC2; THAC0 14; # of Attks 4; dmg 1d8, 1d6, 1d8, 1d6.
NPC/Monster
4 Armed Skeleton attacks Yagul as that was the first being into the room it could locate, hitting for 10 dmg! as 3 of 4 swords strike him.
----------------------------------------------
PCs
Ferris cast darkness on himself and makes a dexterous move to the table the skeleton couldn't even keep up with the movement.
McTavish tries casting turn undead but the creature is unaffected.
Monty moves in to fight the 4 Armed Skeleton head on but misses it.
Shade moves out of the way to let the others into the room.
Uther moves into a position that he can cast magic missile at the creature.
Yagul attacks the 4 Armed Skeleton hitting for 8 dmg!
Quick Summary: Ferris casts darkness on himself and moved into room dexterously maneuvering behind the table, Yagul & Monty move in and attack it Yagul being the only one to hit it, after taking some hits himself.

Yagul
Continues to press his attacks.
Scimitar [1d20+2] = 17+2 = 19 to hit [1d8+5] = 2+5 = 7 damage
Scimitar [1d20+2] = 15+2 = 17 to hit [1d8+5] = 2+5 = 7 damage
Scimitar [1d20+2] = 17+2 = 19 to hit [1d8+5] = 8+5 = 13 damage
Scimitar [1d20+2] = 13+2 = 15 to hit [1d8+5] = 2+5 = 7 damage
Yagul needs a 16 to hit AC 2, so he hits 3 out of 4 times for 27 HP damage.

Monty is using her staff as slashing dmg is considerably less than it is instead of a bludgeoning. Though I've been rolling like shyte lolRex wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 12:27 am Yagul

I figure my pluses with the scimitar make up for the half damage from slashing weapons.

On hands and knees he crawls under the table, surrounded by darkness. He fiddles through some pouches and loads his pick bow contraption. When he is certain the noise of battle, sword upon sword and booted feet are still away from him, he will.dismiss the darkness spell of able.
