The Red Moon Inn (OOC)
Re: The Red Moon Inn (OOC)
Nice work on escaping Gialloneri!!! You still get to take your turn as well, the escape roll was still part of Tentacles turn.
Also Spanningtree , Bianca still had a surprise round which means she gets to take a regular round.

Re: The Red Moon Inn (OOC)
Damage on a knife is 1d6 + Str bonus - 2 (for knife), maybe?
It's hard to explain puns to kleptomaniacs because they always take things literally.
Re: The Red Moon Inn (OOC)
I was planning on not using the weapon modifiers optional rule just to keep things more simple but if everyone would prefer the variety we could use them.
Normally all weapons would just be 1d6+Strength Bonus
But if we're using weapon modifiers a dagger would instead be 1d6+SB-2

If that rule is optional, let's keep it simple, shall we?

Re: The Red Moon Inn (OOC)
Are you still using the bonuses for 2 handed weapons?
All things are possible through Magic.
Re: The Red Moon Inn (OOC)
I wouldn't mind using the optional rules if I get a chance to upgrade my dagger soonish, but if we ignore them it's fine too. I'm not really combat-focused so it impacts me less than others.

Re: The Red Moon Inn (OOC)
If we don't use the optional rules the 2 handed weapon skills are useless since that is the bonuses for the big weapons.
2 Handed sword 1d6 +2
2 handed axe 1d6+2
Flail 1d6 +2

Re: The Red Moon Inn (OOC)
FWIW I vote for the optional weapon rules as well. I honestly didn't even realize they were optional, so never not played 1e without daggers doing SB-2, for example.
Re: The Red Moon Inn (OOC)
Looks like we've come to a consensus! I'll post this in the House Rules thread as well but just so everybody can see it here as well.

* Spears and halberds receive a +10 I bonus during the first round of combat and during subsequent rounds if the user is winning. If their opponent is mounted, they receive a +20 I bonus during the first round of combat and subsequent rounds if winning.
** Against aerial combatants only.
*** The lance is only fully effective when mounted and charging. In all other circumstances, the butt end of the lance is used with the same effect as a Hand Weapon.

Hey folks I just wanted to let you know that the Bovine beastman is dead, sorry if I had buried the fact.
Right now the remaining mutants that are flee are Harry and Eyestalks, go ahead and readjust your targets but keep those rolls since they were successful.
Also Faanku go ahead and roll to hit one more time to see if you can roll for extra damage. If you do hit you'll roll 1d6 and add that to your 9 damage, if it comes up 6 again you can keep rolling and adding until you roll under 6.

Nice, added to my post.
How common are beastmen/mutant attacks like this anyway? Would it be something to talk about for travellers like ourselves, or just another weekday?

Re: The Red Moon Inn (OOC)
New post is up! I wanted to leave you with a somewhere to go so you don't feel like you're going to be endlessly trudging along but don't feel the need to move along to fast if you want to roleplay out the after of the battle and how you're characters are handling being attack by the children of chaos.
Awesome work with combat as well! We had some whiffs but some really solid hits and Eva's amazing save as well! I'll be holding off assigning xp until the end of the adventure as well, just incase you were wondering.
As for the question about Mutant/Beastmen attacks.
Beastmen/Mutant attacks would be considered uncommon compared to the dangers of suffering a bandit attack for example, but they are always considered a possibility. They're the subject of many folktales and horror stories and are thought to always be lurking in the forests, an attack by them would probably be significant to most of you.
Those of you from urban backgrounds would be much more surprised to have actually encountered the beastmen while Nicolas probably has had an experience or two whether directly or maybe having come upon evidence of the presence during his time as a hunter.

Re: The Red Moon Inn (OOC)
Apologies for being remiss in replying, I had email notification set up for this and I haven't received one in 2 weeks! However, I know I also should be checking more regularly irrespective, so apologies once again.
Re: The Red Moon Inn (OOC)
No worries! The site has been wonky for me lately as well (some of my posts are getting eaten I think!)

Re: The Red Moon Inn (OOC)
Same here. This game hasn't been a problem but another game on this thread I am in has been very sporadic with notifications. Someone suggested to remove the subscription and then add it back. That seemed to work for a time for me.
Re: The Red Moon Inn (OOC)
Hey folks sorry for the longer than expected update, I'm in the middle of moving so i might be unavailable for the rest of the week but I'll try to stay updated and provide updates through my phone if when I can!
