The team of busters roll up to the Cemetery in short order. There is not a dedicated parking area, but thankfully the cemetery seems to be pretty dead. They had no reason to worry about parking the Ecto-1 on one of the paths or just off to the side as needed. From here they could see they were at the top of a large hill that dropped off a bit steeply ahead to the west, and below there was a baseball and football field with even more graves off to the southeast. It appeared that the oldest of graves were here around the crest of the hill and they tended to get "newer" as they near the busy road below.

Joker

Yes, a good start.
Joker lights the cheroot he's been chewing on. He flips on the PKE meter he collected from Ecto-1 and begins taking readings, recording his findings on his phone. He fiddles with the adjustments on the PKE, getting the most accurate readings he can. He begins going West to East along the road they've parked on, and then will turn based on what he gets.

Red walks up to the guys looking at their phones Hey, nice upgrades! We were still using ole reliable Spengler tech.
So what's the story here?

I"ll tag along with Joker for a bit, and also scan with a PKE from Ecto-1.

So Joker, what's the story with this cemetery?

Joker
Hello Red. I do not know the whole story- of course- but we have had a number of jobs pop out, and they plot out to a very rough circle around this cemetery. Additionally, I got strong secondary readings from one of those jobs that pointed in this direction. There may be some sort of Etheric power source here- or perhaps a crossing of Ley lines.
Even during this short speech, Joker interrupts himself a few times to note readings. He's being OCD-level thorough.

Joker gets some clear readings and it is easy enough given recent research to adjust your readings and all the phones sync up. There are some grave areas giving off more readings than others, in fact there are a great majority that, other than the ambient energy, show no other readings at all. You can see a hot spot or two are to your south along the hilltop, and a couple more towards the southeast down the hill a bit, as well as a couple more or less to the east by northeast of your position.

Jason sets out following his PKE meter readings, looking at the graves and their dates while sweeping for valences and trying to chat with the newbie. Yeah the gear is half the reason to get into this job, we have the best toys.

Joker
Joker will get his own set of notes about the hotspots- including names, date of death, and precise readings.
*Are all the graves similar? Or are there notable differences in the readings?
*Are the family names the same or similar?
*Do the death dates correlate in any way?

Smarts roll: +2 BP [7d6] = 17 ghost [1d6] = 3

Oh I was actually a fan first, I saw a ghost as a kid and threw everything I could into finding out about it and came across the 'busters. So I made it my goal to sign up asap, then well i like school and labs so I didn't get out in the field for a while. How about you? he chats friendly while fiddling with equiptment.

Based off this I will assume you are both heading to the north West quadrant of the cemetery. Putting NE was my mistake.

Jason, Mac, and Red head to the NW Quadrant where it seems to be a bit quieter, but there are some strong readings from two spots.

Hotspot 1 for NW Quadrant.

DEATH 26 May 1869 (aged 30)

This one gives off a broad range of readings. Nothing that seems "Active" but an energy center nonetheless. Despite all this, there is nothing indicating a haunting so much as a presence of energy that radiates from this point.

Hotspot 2 for NW Quadrant.

BIRTH 1849
DEATH 2 Aug 1915 (aged 65–66)

This one, curiously, is not like the first one. It certainly is active and though it radiates no more energy than the first grave, it seems to be anchored to the grave but certain wanders about the general area as if moving around by a tether. It moves about in a random radius, as well as up and down, sometimes centering under the ground or over your heads, but never more than 10 or 12 feet at most in a sphere.

Joker heads south to the SW Quadrant and quickly finds two graves very near one another that are giving off strong readings.

The second seems much more established but the first is no less potent. The move around the exact location erratically. They interact regularly and seem much more kinetic than the readings he is seeing from the hotspots the others are studying. There is also a defined presence of ectoplasm. Upon closer inspection, Joker even notes that it is not moss on the gravestones... but a thin layer of ectoplasm oozing from the stones.

Of these two, they are. Both have the last name Harris. Both seem to be giving off a lot of energy and certainly overwhelm even the ambient readings in the immediate area.

Joker wrote: *Are the family names the same or similar?
Most certainly.

Nothing you can decern from the information you have.

Joker
Joker takes detailed notes on all of the active graves. He'll collect a sample of the ectoplasm from each grave (he'll probably need to go back to Ecto-1 to get sample jars), carefully identifying them. He'll also text the others to keep them up to speed with what he's found.

Once he finishes this, he'll move on. His intent is to canvass the whole cemetery.

Jason takes some more readings at Christopher's grave but there is nothing really out of the ordinary other that what he already saw. It does seem to come closer... in fact, it is right in front of him! It seems to hover and bob there for a moment... make a full circle around him and then settle directly in the spot where the stone is.

Joker is able to collect samples from the Harris stones. It is black and smells absolutely foul.

Moving to the next SE Quadrant, he will see the next two graves. They certainly give off strong reading, but nothing that seemed directly active other than making themselves known, not unlike the one that Jason and Red are looking at right now.

This impressive stone radiated a very strong signal. It is very anchored and gets more intense as Joker nears.

This one too is more anchored than usual but does move directly to Joker when in range and almost seemed to lead him to a broken stone where it settles into. It is a very low frequency, a very slow pulse from it. Joker gets an eerie feeling. Almost like a sadness settles over him.

If you fail, this is what you trip on!
Either way you will notice another grave, no activity here.

Joker
Joker takes copious notes about the broken stone, and takes a few photos to go along.

Joker is a man of Science- he believes only what he can see, hear, or measure. Until his first mission with the 'Busters, he was convinced that 'ghosts' are just a purely physics-based phenomenon, one that hasn't been fully researched for understanding yet. He's still not really sure... So what he does next feels insane, but still right.
He takes a knee in front of the broken stone, and says:Anladığımı düşünüyorum. Yardım etmek için elimizden geleni yapacağız.
I think I understand. We will do whatever we can to help.
He stands, blushing, and brushes the debris from the knee of his jeans.
Have we completed the canvass? If so, we should return to the Firehouse so I can analyze our data.
