Fourthmonth, Twentysecondday
Rhea's Ford
It is in fact faster for Goshawk to travel south, through Rhea's Ford, then to Junction, than the other way around. Traveling by himself he makes good time; the air is noticeably warmer than it was, two weeks ago, when the adventurers first came to Bastion and he felt the icy hand of death around his heart.
Goshawk reaches Rhea's Ford by early evening. It is too late to do anything in the evening except eat a meal and relax, but on the morrow he will have plenty of opportunity to meet with Tolniel Fer, the factor they have hired to represent them in Rhea's Ford.

Rhea's Ford
First thing Goshawk goes to visit Tolniel Fer, who has some news for him. "Reker Nus has finished identifying the items you gave him," he says, "and charged a sum of 1500
alcedes. I took the liberty of paying him out of your group funds, and have the items here, if you are interested."
The items are as follows:
*The strange lantern that Notai had sold is called a
glamourbox. Forged by the Ancient Ones in days of old, it had the power to record an image and project it, as an illusion. However, in order to function it requires a source of magical energy made specifically for such items. The Ancient Ones would collect magical energy in storage containers no larger than a human hand and use those to power their devices. Such technology is lost to the modern era, but it is said that on occasion these power cells can be found in ruins, still containing a charge.
*The mask of the mummy will, if worn, grant the wearer extra vitality for a short period of time. Over the years, however, it had been tainted by undeath and necromantic energy, and has the potential of taking a toll upon the wearer if used to frequently.
*The spear is enchanted with a modest dweomer. Once per day, when thrown, the command word
kthimi can be spoken, and the spear will magically return to the hand of the wielder.

Kimrid
The adventurers rise in the morning, intent on visiting with the priests of Mnencir before heading out. They are shown into the same waiting room as before, and 'ere too long Hallnir, the Herald of Mnencir, enters the room. "I have heard you have business with me," he says, upon entering.
