Quest #21 "Island Hopping"
Re: Quest #21 "Island Hopping"
Maag
Maag looks around the area, trying to see if there is a trail leading away from the statue. He remembers seeing a possible structure further inland and looks especially hard for anything leading in that direction.

Re: Quest #21 "Island Hopping"
Alordan studies the statue for any possible way to move it (concealed entrance, etc).
Re: Quest #21 "Island Hopping"
Gramble joins Alordan pushing on the statue to see if it moves.
Re: Quest #21 "Island Hopping"
Saracen will get out his bow and knock and arrow, watching the perimeter for anything approaching whilst the others search for clues.
Greys Campaign.
Re: Quest #21 "Island Hopping"
Sir Crestbrook.
As the two fighter types attempt to move the statue Sir Crestbrook moves around the statue, takes out his sword and shield and takes a guarding position 5 feet behind the statute looking towards the center of the island.
Lerrick
Lerrick finds the largest tree close to her and gracefully climbs it with ease, getting to a spot wear she can better look at the surrounding around the statue.

Wots Wiv Der Island?
Freeday, 12th of Goodmonth
Early Morning, Warm, Misty, Buggy
Maag looks around for any discernible trail leading away from the tall statue. He doesn’t see anything of the sort, but he does definitely spot the rocky outcropping further inland, towards the center of the island.
Lerrick hops up into a nearby tree and climbs it in mere seconds, astonishing most of the others with her amazing ability. She also spots the larger rocky formation near the center of the island, but sees little else through the thick foliage.
Saracen and Crestbrook keep guard as Gramble and Alordan poke and prod at the ancient statue, trying to manipulate or move it in any way. After some time, they find that this bull headed man statue is indeed, just a statue.

Maag gestures with his 10' pole towards the outcrop. "Looks like dat is der way ter go. Keep yer eyes an' ears open. Der's sumfin big around 'ere, an' I reckon it knows we're 'ere."
He waits a moment or two for the others to voice their opinions then, assuming no objections, Maag leads off towards the rocky outcropping. He clutches 'arry the Bastard Sword in one hand, and uses the pole in the other to poke and prod his way through the vegetation in front.

The paladin moves behind Maag with shield and sword in hand ready to attack
Lerrick
The cleric stays in the tree until the last member of the group prepares to follow the path led by Maag She does this to warn Maag of anything coming towards the party that she could see from above ground that the rest of the party can't see. If nothing, she quickly descends the tree and slips in front of the last member of the group.

Saracen looks for any tracks, or trails off from the statue. When Maag moves off the holy champion of light follows, arrow and bow ready. He keeps his eyes open for signs of passage of bigger creatures or humanoid creatures as he goes.
The fighter/cleric also looks out for signs of edible plantlife, like coconuts and fruit trees etc.

Welcome To Minotaur Island
Freeday, 12th of Goodmonth
Early Morning, Warm, Misty, Buggy
Saracen doesn't spot any tracks along the ground, but Alordan does. The tracks are cloven hoofed, possibly made by cattle, but there is no discernible trail. Any tracks the ranger finds appear randomly and without much purpose. As if the one making them was simply wandering around out here. Several of the tracks seem to lead inland.
Maag points his long pole towards the rocky uprising through the thick foliage and begins cautiously making his way there. Saeacen looks around at the diverse trees and plants, noticing that there are plenty of edibles growing in this little jungle. Mango trees are abundant here, as are coconuts, bananas, and a few other tropical fruits.
Lerrick slides back down her tree and follows the others on the ground again as the group heads inland. After getting a little closer to the rocky area, they spot another stone monolith smothered in vines and other green foliage. A short way ahead of that one, towards the rocky area, they spot yet another vine covered statue. Other than the stone curiosities, the party doesn't see or hear anything else particularly odd or dangerous out here.

Re: Quest #21 "Island Hopping"
Alordan will stow some fruit in his pack to help show to the townsfolk that value this island can provide. He will cautiously clear away the vines and growth around the next statue should it appear safe to do so. He'll again check the statue for other clues or concealments.
Re: Quest #21 "Island Hopping"
Saracen sidles up next to the ranger. Do you think we could take some kind of cuttings of some of these fruit trees back to grow in Beachtown? With Wes’ magic they might be blooming in no time hmm? The ugly half-orc shrugs, not really understanding a lot about such things.
I wonder if there is some cattle on the island, or just minotaurs. Did the tracks have two or four hoofs could you tell?
He keeps his eyes and ears open as the others decide what to do for the best, bow ready. Arrow knocked

The paladin shows a hint of disappointment that there was nothing to attack. While the others are clearing the vegetation from the second statue he scans the area for any trouble
Lerrick
Lerrick takes a couple pieces of fruit and stores them in her pack as well, then finds another tree to climb. Once she spots one she climbs it and then scans the area.

Welcome To Minotaur Island
Freeday, 12th of Goodmonth
Early Morning, Warm, Misty, Buggy
The tracks Alordan finds are too few and too old to tell how many legs made them initially.
Fruits are packed away for later as the group cautiously proceeds to the next statue. Once the vines and branches are cleared away from this one, another large humanoid with a bulls head is found. This one carries his huge double bladed ax in one hand and appears to be looking over its shoulder. This statue is searched also, and again nothing special is found. It appears to be just another old and pitted stone statue.
Chancing a trip to the next monolith, the same thing is found, a minotaur statue covered in the natural vegetation of the island. Once cleaned off, this beast appears to be sitting or squatting somewhat, being that it is much shorter than the others. Again nothing of any interest is found on it. Lerrick climbs up again and can now see the circular ring of upheaved natural stone that covers most of the central portion of the island. The rocky area ahead of the group contains even more of the strange statues. There also appears to be much less vegetation growing in that area. A dark spot against the grey background along her line of sight might indicate a cave of some sort.

Maag tries to recall if any of these statues were sitting on a base or pedestal. "Dese statues are pretty likelike", he points out. "Der statues I remember from back 'one were always standin' on top of sumfin'. Who'd make a bunch of statues and just put dem out 'ere like dey was in der middle of doin sumfin' when dey were suddenly made into a statue"?

Re: Quest #21 "Island Hopping"
Saracen nods to his blooodkin. They seem to evenly spaced out to be some kind of flesh turned to stone don’t you think? But it bares caution. We might be dealing with a creature that can turn flesh to stone as well or instead of minotaurs perhaps. And cats. But the cats seems to stay only upon the beach. Cats know danger I would guess. Shall we head to that possible cave the climbing priestess clocked?
He maintains his vigilance and readiness with his now.

The cleric climbs down the tree and moves to the others. I see several more statues in the center of the island. I could be wrong, but I think there is an entrance to a cave.
Sir Crestbrook
The paladin looks towards the cleric with great interest at the mention of a cave entrance. He instinctively grips the handle of his sword tightly.
