OOC Discussion and Table Talk II
Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk II
Muahahaha. Interesting thought.
At any rate, do you really want to try that just to bring back an NPC?

Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk II
Sorry I haven't been my "typical self" the last week had some news that my grandmother passed away on the 12th (via text message @ 6am) my head hasn't entirely been right but she was 96 and lived a good long life. So at any rate that is my explaining my lack of posting enthusiasm as of late.

Wow- sorry I missed this earlier, Ed. It doesn't get any easier, even if they've lived a long full life. Be well, dude.

I'm sorry to hear that, Ed. That's completely understandable. Don't feel like you need to come back for us. If you need to take more time, go ahead.

Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk II
Thank you Bob & Scott.
I'm back "kind of" the service was yesterday and it was a good service. I got to see some relatives I haven't seen in a while and today I will be helping them with stuff from my Grandmothers home. She was a very organized lady has a list of who gets what and had her own funeral service planed all out in a bunch of hand written pages (not at all surprising to me) So I'm back just will be a little busy again today.

Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk II
Yeah, that's the one bright side of funerals: you get to see people you haven't seen since forever.
Ouch. Looks like one of the Raise Dead spells is getting used after all.

Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk II
Technically this is not the first time Odilo has died I believe he was killed off in another game on here (not the ToH game) where i attempted his Resurrection as a "younger" version before he became "strange" and the soul sucked into a gem is sort of death like i guess. So now in a new "husk" he truly is killed. Or perhaps he is trapped in "hell" who knows only the DM can decide that.

Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk II
Well, now. There's a question. What happens to a PCs soul if he's killed in an outer plane? Does it go where it normally would, or is it diverted?
Hm.
Hm.

Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk II
Please make good use of anything Odilo had on him. But whatever you do please don't raise him as a zombie.

Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk II
To me, I take this as meaning the spells work as normal unless another soul ends up inhabiting the body. I didn't see anything else that limited the spells in another way.Manual of the Planes wrote:Spells that involve a body uninhabited by a spirit (raise dead, resurrect, and the spell magic jar) create an oportunity for native spirits. These sentient spirits have a 1% chance per day per depth of layer of inhabiting the vacated body. An individual who perished on the third layer of Hades has a 3% chance per day of his body being occupied before it is raised, while on the 100th layer of the Abyss the body is definitely occupied if vacant for even one day. This usurping being is never a unique creature. The usurper will not release the body willingly; it must be exorcised. Such behavior occurs primarily in the lower planes and Chaos planes, as forces that are neither evil nor chaotic would not consider the occupation of the body of another.
Spells that reincarnate lost individuals use the encounter tables for the plane occupied. Reincarnated individuals are of the prevailing alignment of the plane.
