[Wait list] Homebrew HarnWorld - Blueholme Campaign
[Wait list] Homebrew HarnWorld - Blueholme Campaign
I have decided to give running a game a shot. This will be my first time running a PBP game, but I have played in several and have 38 years experience DMing table top games.
About the Game
I am most familiar with the HarnWorld setting so I am going with a homebrewed HarnWorld. No knowledge is needed and less may be better since there are several changes to make it more D&D friendly and I like it a bit different.
The system will be Blueholme Journeymanne Rules with some house rules to make it fit the campaign a bit better. If you have played any version of D&D you will be fine, this is the simplest of versions, based on Holmes Basic.
Prospective players can expect the following:
A minimum posting rate of 3 times weekly, weekends optional.
A long-running campaign.
We will be starting with higher level characters, 2nd or 3rd level. Maybe 3rd/4th if it ends up being a small group.
I don't use XP, so we will be leveling up at milestones of my choosing. You can expect to gain levels, I think this will work better than XP for PBP and the setting.
The setting
Social interactions will matter.
This is a darker, grittier setting. With consequences for breaking the law.
More of a late dark ages feel than most D&D.
Monster's will be played to their full ability, which can result in a deadly game.
Plan to track resources (e.g. food, water, ammunition, etc...)
The initial adventure is a good intro, a murder mystery that will incorporate a Feudal town, Feudal village, wilderness and underground settings.
Feel free to express interest, ask questions, etc... Thanks for looking.

Count me in. Sounds great.
Haven’t played Blueholme Journeymanne rules, but all sorts of D&D variants for decades.

Welcome aboard NJWilliam. You can pick up a set of the rules through third level here for free. We are using the expanded rules but this really covers most of it.

Lurkers are always welcome Mr. Blueholme!Vile wrote:I'll keep an eye on this if you don't mind!

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

Lurkers are welcome of course, I have done my share. Need some players first but it is early yet.

Re: [LFP] Homebrew HarnWorld - Blueholme Campaign
Looks like we have 2. A couple more would be great but I would be fine going with 3.
Re: [LFP] Homebrew HarnWorld - Blueholme Campaign
Checked out the Blueholme "Prentice" version. Holy c**p that is a beautiful book.
I'd love to be part of this, so please add me too. I should be able to handle two games comfortably for the foreseeable future.

Re: [LFP] Homebrew HarnWorld - Blueholme Campaign
Glad to have you Alver! Looks like we are up to 3. I will give it a few more days and see if we can get to 4 (or more). I will probably request a game forum Monday and start working on getting it set up so we can start making characters.
Re: [LFP] Homebrew HarnWorld - Blueholme Campaign
The forum is up and we can still have room for up to 3 more players. Feel free to browse and see if it looks like something you might enjoy.

Re: [LFP] Homebrew HarnWorld - Blueholme Campaign
This looks really cool, I've been interested in HarnWorld for some time but never really had an excuse to really immerse myself in the setting. This seems like the perfect time though, count me in!
Re: [LFP] Homebrew HarnWorld - Blueholme Campaign
You are in! I will add you to the forum and you can start making a character when you have time. Still accepting players for anyone else interested.

Re: [LFP] Homebrew HarnWorld - Blueholme Campaign
I’d like to throw my hat in the ring if there’s room still for another player. Downloaded the Prentice rules and it’s fairly straightforward though the system leaves me with a couple of questions.
Re: [LFP] Homebrew HarnWorld - Blueholme Campaign
There is. I will add you to the game forum and you can ask whatever questions you like there. Great to have you.
Re: [LFP] Homebrew HarnWorld - Blueholme Campaign
If you have any space left in the party, I'd like to see about joining in the fun.
