B S (III)
Re: B S (III)
Would Chest, large solid iron count? That's listed as 1,000 - 5,000. A small solid iron chest is 200-500.
Actually, looking at the PHB it seems to say boxes are iron and chests are wooden. But the DMG just calls them all chests.
I got the DMG stuff from page 225.
Hope that helps.

Hmmm... says Large Iron Box, not chest. I was thinking it was bigger than a cash box and smaller than a bunk chest.

Bluehorse is 100% correct, at least as far as iron boxes go. None of my PC's ever owned one, so my knowledge was limited to scouring the manuals, OSRIC included, none of which nail down a specific number. I'm gonna put it on the DM.

Unfortunately, and without any word, Xyxax hasn't logged into the US for nearly a month now, so I think it might be safe to say that he is gone.Bluehorse wrote:I take it that Xaxyx is MIA so Glansandi is an NPC now?

The sour elven fighter turned Constable will be NPC'd indefinitely in hopes that his player eventually comes back.
Eawad is pretty much screwed already so......

If Avaala is going to lose Rollo (and yeah, he'll fight like crazy not to) I'd hate to have done that for a corpse.

Re: B S (III)
It would work a lot better if he wasn't already dead.

I apologize if you think you were mislead, but that is how things go in a fog of battle scenario sometimes. (he wasn't actually dead until he was dropped, but I doubt that makes you feel any better about it)

Re: B S (III)
Ahhhh, the fall finished him. Damn. I knew the Slow Poison spell can actually save those supposedly "Dead" by poison. But I don't think it does much for fall damage.

Br. Gilbert is suggesting getting out of the structure to assess the group's status and make some plans. Diminishing returns, etc.

Re: B S (III)
Running mid battle seems like a really bad idea. A free attack on each person disengaging from a highly venomous poisonous creature seems like a crazy plan.

Re: B S (III)
None of mine will retreat. Jaxsen wouldn't understand the concept in the current situation. (To him, this is an perfect example of a swarm attacking a larger enemy. He cannot imagine losing.)
Avaala will not just give Rollo up as long as he can see him fighting, and Rollo has no choice in the matter.

I was assuming that there was some kind of fighting withdrawal option available, but it seems the rules say the choice is stand and fight, or panic and flee.
Oh well.

Just to be clear.....
As long as the enemy is still engaged with another combatant, you can withdraw from melee without incurring an attack of opportunity.

Re: B S (III)
Sorry for not participating as much as I should, but I live near one of the big fires in California ("Ranch Fire"), and my parents live east of the huge Carr Fire in Redding. We have been rather occupied, following the fire and evacuation information. The entire western portion of Lake County is under mandatory evacuation orders.

Re: B S (III)
Unlike Redding, which is urban and has had to evacuate 38,000 people (⅓ of city), probably less than 10,000 have needed to evacuate near me (total pop. of county is ~65,000). It is still insane.
