CHAPTER 7a: Under the Gam'A Zone
Re: CHAPTER 7a: Under the Gam'A Zone
May-Jor does her best to pry up an appropriately sized floor panel. She’ll look underneath and make sure it isn’t some weird turbine throwing off electrical arcs, or a bunch of grinding gears or spinning blades or, uh, just more bugs. Assuming it’s safe to remove, she’ll clank-stomp over to the hole, pull out her trusty toolkit, and see if she can’t find a few long screws to screwdrive, or a few bits of rebar to pound in as stakes.

Blixx
Blixx will move into Jacks vehicle and watch him at the controls. Hopefully his tinkering past will give him an edge.

Re: CHAPTER 7a: Under the Gam'A Zone
...
Jack and Blixx continue to discuss the functions of the hyper pod. Blixx gained an adequate understanding of the vehicle during this initial journey, so he is trained as an operator.
May-Jor and Denslow remove floor plates in their attempt to patch the hole in the outer hull. They take one of the plates and bend it into shape so it conforms to the shell’s curvature. Denslow extends his tendrils down, into the belly of the pod and holds the floor plate while Belial collects some mechanical fasteners. The cybernetic bear uses her toolkit to punch holes and force fasteners through the floor plate and into the hull. After a few bangs and shakes, all three are convinced the patch will hold against unwanted intruders.
Kurot, Silvestri and Frekken wait in the second pod for the actions of the first pod.
Actions?

Re: CHAPTER 7a: Under the Gam'A Zone
Jack will just go where the pod is capable of driving not really caring which direction that is. "Where too taxi's gotta move somewhere my meter's still running." he jokes.

Kurot is willing to follow wherever the others want to go.
Re: CHAPTER 7a: Under the Gam'A Zone

Jack flips through the manuals and then looks at Blixx with an evil grin. “Watch this,” he says.
The former sheriff pushes a button on the control box and a blaring blast, sounding like the bellow of a giant herd-beast, emits from the vehicle. The sound rumbles and echoes through the pods and down the tunnels. May-Jor, Denslow and Belial are startled and bang body parts into immovable sections of the vehicle’s structure. None finds humor in Jack’s prank.
Frekken, in the second pod, hops up and down with a nervous twitch. “I hope everything is alright!” He exclaims. “Perhaps they are in trouble?”

Re: CHAPTER 7a: Under the Gam'A Zone
Jack signals to the other pod that all is ok and laughs "That was the horn."

Blixx, Belial, May-Jor and Denslow exit the pod and make their way into the side passage. May-Jor strikes a torch and leads the group, proceeding with caution. The corridor is 10ft in diameter and has a flat bottom 5ft wide. The floor is covered with green carpeting, soiled and decayed from millennia of aging. Holes in the carpet expose the artificial stone that the tunnel is constructed from. 6-inch diameter domes are spaced down the center of the ceiling every 3 to 4 feet.
Jack remains in the pod and moves the vehicle down the track, so the second pod can dock with the side tunnel. Silvenstri, Frekken and Kurot leave pod #2 and join their comrades in the tunnel.
OOC: If Jack wants to enter the tunnel, he will have to deploy the emergency stair from his pod and then open the emergency stair in pod #2. Once inside pod #2, he can continue into the side tunnel.
The corridor opens into an irregular room, 30ft wide by 75ft long, with a door and multiple exits. Rows of seats are arranged in groups, back to back just to the left of the entrance. The same green carpeting covers the floor in this room and shows the same pattern of aging. There are glass panels along the walls and a large glass floor section is directly in front of the tunnel exit. The room is constructed of artificial stone decorated with painted abstract geometry, most of which has flaked off onto the floors and seats. Large 20-inch domes, comparable to the hall ceiling bulges, are spaced logically on the 10ft-high ceiling.
The east wall is curved with a row of seats along its length. A large, cylindrical metal column runs from the floor to the ceiling. A door, curved and flush with the surface of the column is centered on the west side of the pillar. The west end of the room has a curved alcove with the floor raised 2ft. above the main floor. A door is set into the southwest wall and two 5ft-wide passages continue to the north.

Re: CHAPTER 7a: Under the Gam'A Zone
Silvestri glances around, wondering what this room was used for. Spying the glass section on the floor, he heads over to see if anything can be seen through it.
Re: CHAPTER 7a: Under the Gam'A Zone
...
Silvestri enters the room and examines the glass section of the floor in more detail. He can barely make out script and images under the glass, but they are obscured by dirt and debris. With the help of others, the psionist clears the grime off the glass to reveal a mysterious image. A pattern of sorts is on the other side of the glass and portions of the graphic have illegible script written next to specific areas. Some are repeated. The script appears to be ancient Ongish.

Belial knuckles over to help clean the glass. Awesome! That's a primo shoots-an-ladders board! Loads more complicated than the one I used in Sane Loo!

Jack "Looks like we have a map now." he replies if he has caught up with the others and sees the diagram Silvestri found.

Silvestri and Jack examine the door in the vertical column. The portal is curved, matching the shape of the column, but slightly recessed so it slides in a horizontal groove. There are no obvious handles, hinges or latches. The surfaces of the door and column are suitable for prying with a bar or rod to try and move the panel.
***
Blixx copies what he can of the “map” under the glass. The mothish mutant can make out some of the ancient Ongish script that hasn’t degraded past legibility.
The area marked as dqwDe^ loosely translates as “You are Here”.
***
Confused by the lines and glyphs under the glass floor, Belial knuckles back towards the main tunnel and enters the docked hyper pod. Through the view panels, the mutant baboon can see that the sun is setting due to the reduced light entering the tunnel from outside.
