You can make your own rolls for that if you like. Here is a macro you can copy: CLW [1d8]

Let me know if you are having any issues with using the dice roller.

The giant human starts to think that it might be a good idea to bring this guy along when they go up against Bing and his gang of pirate thugs.

Monocar gets the idea that this guy should come along with them to get Cap'n Bing and the Pirates. Hey! Maybe you should come with us to crash Bing! I mean to fight the pirates. The pirate that have our fiends. Their slaves now. Our friends, not the pirates.
They pirate have our friends, the slaves. there are more slaves apparently... they aren't our friends, I cannot vouche for them, but I think we should free them too... You're a priest of Paylor? Isn't he a sun god like Pholtus? I have been playing to Pholtus like Scarecen taught me. He raised me from the dead some time back and I wanted to learn how to say thank you, so I do the fancy dance with him on the beach. I do a lot of talking to Pholtus but I don't hear a lot of anything back, in fact it gets pretty quiet. Does your god talk a lot, cause you don't seem to. Now that I think of it, Scarecen doesn't either. Is that a god and godly people thing? You don't talk much? Same things happens when I talk to Pholtus, so i just assume he likes to listen. My grandma used to listen to me all the time and just smile. She didn't say much either, but her and my brother did all kinds of this...
he makes a bunch of hand gestures in the air. Anyway, wanna come along?

The druid drags his exhausted body up the ladder into the Treehouse. "Hello Randall! It's good to see you again! It's possibly even good to taste your grog. Let me find out"

Randall seems genuinely glad to see the rough looking druid drag his sorry ass back up into his humble tavern again.

"Yesa! Great ta see ya still roun ear, Wesly the Crusher!" He smiles a sly grin and gets the half-elf his full mug of thick grog.

"I been working on some nick name for mi fren. You like?" The barkeep looks around at the others to see what they think.

"I taught ya might be a goner out der! Mos time folk go out dat long.....dey don't cum back!"

Monocar continues chatting with Talaris, filling the clerics head with his incessant Monogibberish. Talaris expresses his interest in joining up with the huge fighters group.

When Monocar offers to pay for the druid, Randall tries to make a joke.

"Look like someone doing pretty good fi demselves out ear. I see dat killing pirate is good an profitable, eh?"

Wes

"Hmm...I'm not sure I like that nickname Randall. I have a feeling it will lead to me being disliked immensely by vast numbers of people...and my adventures will be an endless repetition on the idea of me somehow saving the day despite being surrounded by much more experienced and better trained colleagues..."

Wes turns to Monocar. "Thank you my friend. I wish I could come with you all, but I have been called to other things. Please be very careful. Those pirates are much stronger than Chauncey thinks. If things go awry, don't push a bad position."!

Gwen wanders over to the Treehouse but does not enter.
OGRE MAGE wrote:...There is a rickety ladder that leads up through an opening next to the tree's trunk. ... There is a short makeshift fence that runs around the entire tree. It doesn't seem to serve much of a purpose as it is only about three feet high. There is no door or gate in the fence.
OOC: Confused that one is expected to climb over a three foot fence to enter the tavern. Anti-short-ism?

Gwen walks around the area and studies the tree from different angles. She looks annoyed that the treehouse blocks the view of the tree.

OCC: Looking for general impression of the tree's health.

Wes

From his vantage point up in the Treehouse, Wes sees Gwen approaching across the sand and waits for her to appear in the bar. When she doesn't, he leans over the edge and calls down to her. "Ah! There you are Gwen!. Are you coming up? We can discuss our plans to go hunting together".

Gwen takes a long look at the huge beach tree from several angles to determine its health.

From the trunk, it seems like a big, strong, and beautiful tree. The higher she looks up into the branches, she sees a different story. The branches and leaves of the upper portion of the tree look ok, but they seem to have a bit of a tired, almost dark or decayed look to them. She cant tell what it is exactly, but something is definitely not right in the eyes of the concerned elf lass. The large dilapidated structure built directly into it certainly isn't helping the health of the tree at all. This whole place looks more like it was built by orcs.

The fence with no gate is a bit weird, but so are a lot of other things around town. A thin wisp of grey smoke exits the very top of the structure through an unpleasant looking crooked chimney.

Gwen is frowning when she hears Wes.

"Master Wes! Good timing! Oh, yes, we should discuss the hunt."

"However, I noticed something about the tree," she points above the treehouse, "that requires your expertise. But you should judge for yourself."

While Gwen waits for Wes to descend from the treehouse, she looks around at the landscape for something. She shakes her head and murmurs, "That's useless. Need to narrow the search."

Glansandi Storeyja
OGRE MAGE wrote:Climbing up the ladder to get inside, the duo sees a few people already there. The small elf girl that Glansandi met earlier is there, speaking with the rough looking half-elf druid introduced to him earlier. There are two others there as well. Neither of the towns guards have seen either of them before.

Randall smiles as you enter.

"Yesa! Yesa! Wha can mi do fi ya gents! Jinks? Eats? Ow bout boat?"
Pausing briefly, Glansandi needs to focus momentarily in order to understand what Randall has said to him. So as not to seem overly rude, he glances around the tavern first, eyeing the two unknown figures in particular, trying to assess their overall demeanor.

"Greetings, Randall," he says to the tavern keeper. "My name is Glansandi Storeyja. Mr. Nehru has seen fit to recently appoint me as town constable, and has charged me with overseeing Beachtown's defenses and security. Jombo here is our first recruit. I thought it appropriate to introduce myself to you and make known my intentions. And to get ourselves a solid meal," he adds, "as we've a long day ahead of us, I suspect."

Wes

Wes climbs down to observe the tree at Gwen's urging. Now that it's pointed out to him, he's shocked by the tree's appearance. "Hmm...that really isn't good at all". Wes walks around the tree, trying to recognize if it's any ailment he has seen before.

One idea does occur to him. "Gwen, there is a trapdoor that leads up above the bar. I'd assumed it led to Randall's living space. But when I got here this morning, he was sleeping on the floor behind the bar. So what is up there? I think we need to go and find out".

"We're fortunate that our newly-appointed constable has just arrived. Perhaps he would care to investigate this strange blight too".

Randall listens to the elf talk, nodding his head but not quite catching on.

"Mi neva erd a no town councilble? Was dat?"

He looks at Jombo with a familiar smirk. "Mi no who Jombo is dough. Wagwan Jombo? Ya good?" Jombo nods, bumps the tavern keepers fist with his, but otherwise remains silent.

He looks back to Glansandi. "Randall know da im-por-trance of good security! Mi also know da value of a good meal! Sit down Glan-san-di! You brekfass will be rite up mi boss!"

Randall goes behind the bar and dishes out 2 steaming bowls of his jungle stew and pours 2 mugs of his infamous Treehouse grog.

As the Constable and Jombo look around the place, they notice that the building looks rather haphazardly put together. It seems sturdy enough, but the construction is poor and the materials used seem to be scavenged from old planks, driftwood, and whatever other flotsam that could be found washed ashore. The main room of the bar is built entirely around the massive trunk of the tree that grows up through the center of the floor and disappears into the wooden ceiling.

The other pair of diners appear to be more of the fledgling adventurers that seem to be ubiquitous around Beachtown. Both of the men are young humans and they both appear to be fresh off the last ship.

Wes departs to go down to speak with Gwen.
