If it happens, this would not be my first adventure by a long shot, but it would be my first PBP attempt. I'm not sure if that would cause trouble for the DM or players, but I want to be upfront about my lack of experience.

Thanks for consideration. Cheers.
As OM stated, thanks for the honesty and welcome to Unseen Servant.

Of course there are still openings in the game and you are more than welcome to join.

But the same line works in the dice rolling sandbox. Guess I'll wait and try later?
FYI: This is a known issue. Basically, this message comes up when a roll is too long for the dice roller to record in the database (I think). Test rolls work okay because they aren't recorded in the database. The problem can usually be fixed by rolling fewer dice or making the dice roll text shorter.

Most notably: it's impossible to roll all six stats at once in the Unseen Servant dice roller (other than by using the "roll stats" function). Rolling stats three at a time usually works, though.

It's in each class description. :D

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

So between the four base classes, the world's my oyster. I may go fighter for survivability. Has anyone else picked class? Are we using weapon specialization?

I'm running a fighter with trident double specialization (if it's allowed)...

OSRIC doesn't include weapon specialization in its ruleset, as I recall. Which doesn't mean our DM doesn't have a house rule for it.

Weapon Specialization is an optional rule in OSRIC:
OSRIC Fighter Class Description wrote:Weapon Specialisation (optional): With the permission of the GM, weapon specialisation may be selected during character generation. If weapon specialisation is not selected during character generation, it remains forever unavailable to the character, barring some magical or divine intervention.

If weapon specialisation is in play, fighters may take a second proficiency in the same weapon as the first, granting them one extra attack every 2 rounds with the weapon (hence 3/2 attacks with a melee weapon at 1st level, 2/1 at 7th and 5/2 at 13th), +1 to hit and +2 damage owing to their skill. Specialisation costs one profi ciency “slot” for melee weapons and crossbows, and two “slots” for missile weapons other than crossbows.
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

Don't worry about the XP total at this time. I may be bumping everyone up to 3rd level depending on the total number of players we end up going with. The module is rated for 2-4 levels with 6-8 players.

Yes, weapon specialization is available to fighters.

Yes! It's been a real busy day today so I haven't had the chance to do anything with it. Hopefully I will be able to do some work tonight.

That would be a correct assumption.

Hello,

I almost always run fighters but I'd like to try a cleric this time unless anyone else has their heart set on that class.

Of course. Plenty of room of another player.

To all, the forum is now open and everyone should have permission to post. Let me know if there are any problems.

Once Hotgoblin posts a character we will begin the game. As we have 6 characters, please upgrade your characters to 4800 XP.
