Bart, MH
Bart signals the group that there are bees straight under him, and to give him a smoke bomb. He also tries to covey tucking against the wall.
Once Bart has the bomb he'll aim for the deepest part of the pit. Then tuck against the wall, axe ready and fingers crossed.

Re: CHAPTER 5: Return to the Gam'A Zone
...
OOC: The rope is already secured to the top edge of the ladder. I will assume that Jack, Frank and Frekken are holding their positions, outside on the hill, until signaled to enter.
Bart signals to Blixx, asking for a smoke grenade. Blixx lowers into the tube and hands Bart the smoke bomb. Belial remains at his perch outside the tower.
Bart lights the grenade, tosses it into the square opening of the open hatch, and tucks against the wall waiting for the results.
The grenade goes through the hole and bounces against a surface that muffles the sound of impact. After some 10-20 seconds, the vibration of the metal deck intensifies and a buzzing sound is clearly audible.
Actions?

Re: CHAPTER 5: Return to the Gam'A Zone
OOC: Jack was securing a second rope as someone already asked to have not the original rope that came in from the outside. The last position I was listed as in is at the top of the ladder still patiently waiting to be signaled down the ladder.

OK, let's verify everyone's positions:
I'll NPC Jiminy for the time being.

Re: CHAPTER 5: Return to the Gam'A Zone
Jack still just clings to the ladder until he is signaled to continue down the ladder.
Yes that position is as far as I knew correct for Jack

Bart, MH
Bart waits, sweating, the tube is hot. He clicks, ripples appear in his vision as the hive awakes. He reports the number and direction via hand signals.

Re: CHAPTER 5: Return to the Gam'A Zone
...
Several bees burst forth from the open hatch in the metal deck below Bart. He makes an attempt to signal the bees’ intent to his comrades, but the insects are moving too fast.
OOC: If Blixx and Jack want an action against the bees while they are flying through the tube, roll your DEX or under on 1d20-2.
Bart, with his echolocation, will have to roll his DEX or below on 1d20.
If you roll a successful DEX check, you may attack the bees this round.
Frank is aiming, so he may make a normal attack against one of the bees.
A swarm of bees charges through the tilted cylinder of the ancient wind tower, making for clear sky. Smoke slowly billows out of the open hatch, but begins to subside.
OOC: Bart detected with his echolocation that the grenade tumbled down the vertical shaft, landing somewhere below his detection range of 90ft.
Belial is somewhat startled by the bees bursting out of the top of the tower
OOC: Please roll a DEX check, 1d20. Success and you may take action against the bees. Fail and you slip of the tower and take flight.
Frekken and Jiminy look up and see the swarm fly out about 50 ft. and then arc back towards the tower.

Frank Rock; veteran Human
Frank lets out an understated "Well....sh!!!!!!!!!!!!t" as he sees the swarm of bees, but maintains his aim and fires a shot at a likely target.....
OOC: Attack Roll: 1d20+1 for DEX 13: [1d20+1] = 17+1 = 18
If that hits; damage roll: 1d12: [1d12] = 2
Well...crap....

Re: CHAPTER 5: Return to the Gam'A Zone
Jack considers climbing back out but realizes such a move is blocked at the moment and tries like hell to make it down the ladder and fast he does not engage the bees.

Belial
Dex 17 attribute check [1d20] = 4
Belial lets out a bark of surprise as he hears the low drone of the bees rise to a high-pitched scream, the bees boiling out of the tube. He grips the lip of the tube with his feet, stands as tall as he can, and begins flapping his wings _hard,_ trying to throw off the bee's flight with the wind from his wings.
Cowabunga! Banzai! Yippe-ki-yay, mufugger! he yells.

Frekken squeals as he sees the massive swarm rise from the structure, nudging Jimmy. "Willyalookit'that!" he slurs as fires his longbow up t the bees.

Bart, MH
DEX check: [1d20] = 11
The bees escaping buzz send a cacophony of sound waves at Bart. As his head rings like a bell, he tucks against the wall.
"How are we going to get out of here?" he ponders to himself.
After the shock, he'll descend deeper, clicking for bees, honey, away to block the tube.
ML, Can we see how many bees have left.
Muties, How many smoke bombs do we have? Should we set one off towards the top and save one for our escape? Also, whom ever has the jars should get down there with Bart.

Re: CHAPTER 5: Return to the Gam'A Zone
...
Frank fires at the bees as they jet up through the tower. He strikes one and he is surprised to see it careen off its path and crash into the side of the tower. The 1 ½ foot mutant bee drops and tumbles down the wall near the open hatch in the metal deck.
Jack descends down the ladder, comfortable that the ladder acts as a barrier between him and the bees. He stops and waits for Bart to move out of his position.
Belial reacts to the bee swarm by flapping his wings in an attempt to change their flight path. The speed of their ascent prevents any deviation from Belial’s turbulence.
Blixx, staying safe against the ladder and the wall, slowly floats down to the deck next to Bart.
Frekken is alarmed by the swarm of six bees bursting out of the tower. He lets loose an arrow from his longbow, but shoots wide from the moving target.
Bart lowers himself against the angled, metal deck towards the open hatch. He watches the downed bee for any signs of life, and then peers into the hatch opening waiting for the smoke to subside. The hatch cover is hinged against the far wall and appears to be relatively intact, although it is covered by settled debris and grime. If it can be closed and barred, it should prevent any additional bees from escaping.
Using his echolocation, Bart detects more movement deep in the vertical shaft of the lower tower, but cannot make out definite details.
Jiminy changes his form to a flat blob and huddles against the side of the tower, hoping to avoid detection from the bees.
