Ah, thank you!
Re: What would you like to play/run? (Interest Catch-all)
If we can get a few people to try it out, I'd love to play it. I've always enjoyed the wonky vibe, but I have to admit I have difficulty wrapping my head around how the game works in a group setting, since I've only ever played solo modules. The only thing I can think of is that each player controls 3 or 4 PCs simultaneously; all of the modules I've looked at would be slaughterfests in the first room if the party had any fewer than a dozen characters.kensanata wrote:Interested in Tunnels & Trolls ever since I since I had heard of URUTSK. https://thegrandtapestry.blogspot.ch/

For the pirate fans, Cakebread and Walton's "Pirates & Dragons" is worth checking out. Think Pirates of the Caribbean meets Ray Harryhausen. Not too hard to strip out the more fantastic elements and run it as a straight pirate game if desired.
Available in both a d100 system and a streamlined OneDice version. I love the game. I could probably be persuaded to run the OneDice version as a game here.

I would be willing to try a one shot game with you, Starbeard. If Tunnels and Trolls is free, then that is my preference.
At some point I'd love to give Mouse Guard a shot. I love the comic and torch bearer, so it seems like it's like it.

Has anyone played, or is there interest in Maze Rats? It's available on RPGNow for PWYW if anyone wants to take a peek at the game, it's rules lite but deadly in the old school fashion.

I'd be very interested in a game a Maze Rats! Is this the same Matt Jackson I was discussing this with on G+?

I love "rules lite" and "old school" (okay, and "deadly"), so I looked into this a bit. It's pretty intriguing.mattjackson wrote:Has anyone played, or is there interest in Maze Rats? Re: What would you like to play/run? (Interest Catch-all)
Just musings here. I have no immediate intentions of doing any of this. Just some things I am thinking about that sound like fun to me.
*A Thundarr/Mutant Future game using the supplement at The Savage AfterWorld
*I have A Go Fer Yer Gun western game I've been thinking about. It would be set in the turn of the century Appalachian Mountains. Characters would be hired by a coal mining company to bring to justice a coal miner bent on destroying the mines. I am thinking about using the Friday Night Firefight rules (from Cyberpunk) for combat, bolting that on to GFYG somehow...
*A straight up Barbarians of Lemuria game
*A Dogs of War modern action game set in the 70s... A kind of Boys From Brazil/Marathon Man adventure. Characters would be pursuing Nazi war criminals.

Someone started a GFYG game about a year ago. It was fun for the short while it lasted and I would love to try it again. I love the idea of an Appalachian setting.Griffith wrote:*I have A Go Fer Yer Gun western game I've been thinking about. It would be set in the turn of the century Appalachian Mountains. Thanks.Rusty Tincanne wrote: I love the idea of an Appalachian setting.
I've been thinking about this one for awhile. I haven't put anything down on paper yet. The basic storyline is this particular coal mine is in dangerous condition, miners have been killed and the company has done nothing to improve safety. Local law enforcement is on the mining company's payroll and strong-arm any miners that balk about conditions. So a secret society of rebellious miners have formed and are sabotaging the mines. The mining company hires the PCs to apprehend the rebellious miners and "bring them to justice". PCs won't know at first that they're working for a corrupt mining company, but after only a little investigating it will become clear.
Possible encounters would include:
*masked rebel miners and their leader
*strike-breaker ruffians
*bribed deputies
*corrupt mine owners, their lackeys, and other hired guns
*yankee-hating civil-war vet oldsters that think the PCs are yankees
*crazy preacher and his followers, they handle snakes and drink poison
Out in the woods/mountains
*grizzly bears
*bobcats
*rattlesnakes
*moonshiners
*feuding mountain men
Other dangers
*collapsing mine shafts
*exploding stills
*rebel’s shed full of explosives; dynamite and nitroglycerine
Locations:
*train station
*wooded mountains, caves, ponds, creeks, cliffs, waterfalls, stripmines, and such
*coal mine
*moonshiners camp
*mountain men houses/sheds
*village “Butcher Holler”
*courthouse, sheriff’s office, and jail
“boarding house
*church
*company store
*coal mining company/offices
*the company owner’s home

So we're a poor man's Pinkerton squad thugging for the bossman? Dang. That goes against the very essence of my being!
I'd still be down for it, though. If you ever start an interest thread and I don't jump at it, send me a PM, please!
Oh. Don't forget bands of Cherokee that avoided the big round up and Trail of Tears.

So tempted to reboot one of my old games, Labyrinth Lord Advanced or Stars Without Number.
Other than that, Maze of the Blue Medusa seems intriguing ...
I was thinking of 5E, but MAZE RATS of the Blue Medusa sounds good too...
