Sagthistle sighs. "Yes, yes, we agree to your convoluted terms so you can keep your hide and serve yourself."

Angus, disappointed that the bodies do not appear to have anything of interest, watches the conversation from his position on the floor-wall-ceiling. He wonders what an arrow's trajectory would be in this place.

Watts, completely baffled and bewildered by both the conversation and peculiar layout of the room, chooses to remain silent where he is and hopes to be able to escape this room soon.

"My luminous hide is not at risk" replies Torgos with little emotion. "Now - there are two rooms leading north from the room where Blue Robe and his small companion murdered my master's idiot child. One has a black floor with tiles. You may move across this quickly, but do not tarry nor look into the moving tiles themselves. You will sink. The jade eyes in the tiles have some value, but they may also entrance you. In the other room, stick to the black stripe. The remainder of the floor imparts debilitating emotion upon those who make contact with it. This information should serve you well."

With that, he heads down the stairs purposefully, towards the knot, turning towards the door from which the party came. His snake monstrosity is draped around his neck and the armored stoat follows him.

Angus ponders missile fire. His feet are firmly rooted to the ground, and based on his observations so far, he expects a bow shot from his position would follow an expected path.

Angus breathes a sigh of relief when the moon-man leaves and resolves not to talk to the strange creature if he can avoid it. He takes another quick look at the bodies and their weapons. If the weapons do not seem exceptional, he'll climb back up the rope to the stairs.

"So, Chet, are we headed to the black tile room? I guess that would be continuing to go places you haven't died before rather than haven't died yet..."

"Well, that depends" replies Chet. "The moon guy knows what he's talking about. I'll tell you, I saw some crow men run right through the room with a sinking floor. Whatever you do, don't confuse the rooms. I stepped on the white, and I relived the scene of my parents being murdered. I ran away scared."

"I can't bear to see that again. I think we should go to the room with the sinking floor first. But stick some wax in your ears. To get to the sinking floor, we need to cross this baby that is being cradled by something and it is in some strange suit that I've never seen. This baby's shrieks may petrify you...or something worse."

Angus takes another look at the bodies. Perhaps the human's fine clothing would be worth something if not for the blood stains and the rip in the back. Disappointed, he ascends the rope quickly.

Yenny suggests the black floor room. Chet agrees, but suggests plugging ears before proceeding to the next room.

If anyone has candles, it will take one minute to produce enough wax from a candle to plug one's ears. Of course multiple candles may be lit at once.

Actions?

Yenny has candles and starts softening the wax and passing around earplugs. "should've thought of this
earlier. Could've avoided some of Arnulf's jokes."

Arnulf's fingers are firmly in his ears.

"What?" His voice is raised as he looks at Yenny. "Sorry, I didn't hear that. I'm cleaning the wax out of my ears so that they are clean for putting the wax into my ears!"

Because plugging a PC's ears renders a disadvantage (especially because the room ahead was dark last time Chet explored it), I'll wait until tomorrow evening before giving an update. I won't assume an action of plugging ears.

Thanks.

"If we all go in deaf, it'd be easier for something to sneak up on us," says Angus. "Maybe one or two of us should go waxless."

Sagthistle frowns, then nods. "I'll be fine," she says, straightening her shield and drawing her sword.

Torgos strides off, exiting the strange spherical room.

The party congregates around the door heading to the "baby" room. Yenny lights a candle, and forms the melted wax into plugs for all but Angus, Sagthistle and Watts. Carefully, Chet opens the door.

A dark room is revealed. The soft sound of a lullaby being sung is heard by those with open ears - it sounds as if it's coming from the direction Chet and Tempus encountered it in their last foray (ahead and to the right). Yenny's candle throws light 20' into the room, which nobody yet has entered. It illuminates only a grey smooth stone floor in all directions. Condensation is seen on the inside of the door, and drops are on the floor ahead. It is a bit warmer and damper in the darkness beyond.
