Re: World Building Discussion
FYI, I was talking to Wyzard about running a 1-1 game for me at some point down the road and he offered to do it now. I'm still totally down with playing your game; they'll be two different things. I'll be playing a magic-user without any henches in his. Just wanted to let you know.
I'm going to keep working on PCs here, now.

None of my business but thanks regardless for the heads up.thirdkingdom wrote:FYI, I was talking to Wyzard about running a 1-1 game for me at some point down the road and he offered to do it now. Since you mention it, though, what ruleset are you using?

Re: World Building Discussion
Okay, I think the last thing I need from you is a determination of what spells my second tier magic-user henchmen. Also, I'll need hit points for *all* my characters. Would you like me to do this while I create my characters?
Re: World Building Discussion
Arfid [9d8+9] = 44+9 = 53
Pa Tado [8d8+16] = 30+16 = 46
Banmo Sanrac [8d6] = 35
Nangifo [7d4+7] = 17+7 = 24
Pastan O [8d4] = 22
Let me know when the lower level guys are all done and I'll roll them up. EDIT: I mean I need to know if you're keeping any of those I rolled out, or if you're going with all 11s.

Re: World Building Discussion
Are you keeping the rolls for the one guy who got 17 INT?
For the other four guys, 2/2/1 spell repertoire.
Burning Hands, Magic Rope
Alter Self, ESP
Fireball
Magic Mouth, Wall of Smoke
Deathless Minion, Detect Invisible
Infravision
Protection from Evil, Light
Continual Light, Summon Hero
Command Person
Detect Magic, Silent Step
Knock, Detect Evil
Fireball
Lots of Fireballs!
For the last guy, the ones in parentheses are the ones he'd get if you keep the 17 INT
Burning Hands, Jump, (Read Languages, Sharpness)
Deathless Minion, Detect Secret Doors, (Web, Levitate)
Water Breathing, (Hold Person, Dismember)

Re: World Building Discussion
Did you decide if you wanted an existing stronghold in Skyrim or not?
Upside is a base of operations, downside is I'd take most of your money away.

I'm thinking not. I'd like to find my own base, I think. But give me a few days before I make my final decision.sulldawga wrote:Did you decide if you wanted an existing stronghold in Skyrim or not?

What are your thoughts on masterwork items?
Re: World Building Discussion
Do you want the simple version with no local flavor or the slightly more complicated version with local flavor?thirdkingdom wrote:What are your thoughts on masterwork items?

Re: World Building Discussion
Sorry, man, I've been slammed with work the past few weeks (and I've been working on the house this weekend as a Mother's Day present for the wifey). I'll see what I can do to get stuff wrapped up. If I can't pick up the pace significantly it may be worth getting another player involved.
Re: World Building Discussion
I appreciate how difficult (or at least time consuming) it is to create tens of characters. So I don't want to rush you.
The decision to bring in another player is yours alone. This was intended to be a solo game for you so I'm following your lead.
Would it make sense to begin, and you can continue to make your team as we go along? I promise not to spring a couple platoons of screaming Nord barbarians on you until you've got your lieutenants worked out.
What sort of maps would you like to see? Hex details, or just major towns and roads, or something else? I might as well work on that.
I just finished reading Julius Caesar's Commentaries on the Gallic War so I've got logistics on my mind. Pretty much every time he moves his army, he makes a note about arranging for grain supplies first. Would it be helpful if I gave you an idea of what a supply train would look like for your troops, or do you want to figure that out on your own?

Yeah, it's mostly the daunting task of finishing up the sub-henches right off the bat. I would still prefer to do it solo, so it might make sense to just jump in and let me set a goal of a sub-hench a day, or something. If you don't mind posting an example of the supply train that would be great.
Re: World Building Discussion
Went to the Sox game last night and I have Town Meeting tonight. Will try to carve some time out at lunch today but might have to wait until Wednesday night for the supply train example.

Hey, I know I went dark for a week but I did finally make a new post a couple days ago. Checking to see if you're still interested in this one.

Sorry about that. I've been neck deep in logistics for the game I'm running. I'll try and see if I can't extricate myself.sulldawga wrote:Hey, I know I went dark for a week but I did finally make a new post a couple days ago. Checking to see if you're still interested in this one.
