Re: Chp. 9 - Keep on Keeping On
Wrenly puts away his monkey skull. "Ah, well." he says, "Are we finished here? Remember, we must be at the temple at dinnertime for those who need healing."
Re: Chp. 9 - Keep on Keeping On
Asherrion smiles and says, Well, let me get my gold out... he feels his waist and the smile turns to anger, HEY, some thief picked me! Those good for nothing... I'll be back Madam, once I've recovered my gold. Blasted thieves, I need to find my gold! He looks about as if perhaps the thief is in this room, and then looks to the door.

In Antwon's Alchemy Abode...
Antwon nods in agreement to Wulfhart and gives the northern fighter the Potion of Strength. The fat drow elf with a lisp writes out a receipt for Porphyry's brain and Wulfhart's codpiece, noting his possession of them for magical investigation.
Wrenly the Brown gives reminder of their appointment with the cleric Aquar Ionian for healing. Together the adventurers leave the potion shop. It is mid-afternoon.
Strolling down the street toward the temple, they spy Groyn the dwarf loitering about outside the Jolly Hobbit brothel.
The Jolly Hobbit...
The Madame looks expectantly at Asherrion. "Obviously you didn't loose your gold in here with me. Feel free to return if you find it." She escorts the gray elf-alien out the front door.
Out back, Fingal rummages through the trash. Though he holds hope for finding town tax returns of the thieves guild, or the minutes from their latest meeting, Fingal doesn't find any incriminating evidence of a guild operating within. There is an unusual amount of ash within the barrels. Swilbosh politely declines the offer of barrel-fresh chicken bone legs and pigs feet.
Fingal looks for concealed doors other than the back door, but fimds none. He hears only muffled talk of what he thinks are cooks in what may be a kitchen beyond.

"What's 'shaking,' Groyn? We just sold Porphyry's urine for a healthy profit. It was unique in my experience." says Wrenly. "Are Fingal and Swilbosh knocking around here anywhere? We should head to the temple soon." He keeps an eye out for any theaters or puppet shows, noting anything he finds for later.
Re: Chp. 9 - Keep on Keeping On
Porphyry appears discomfited by Wulfhart's gratitude, and awkwardly stammers, "Th-think nothing of it. I... erm..."AleBelly wrote:"Thank you, goat man" says Wulfhart.
Changing the subject: "If you lot are headed to the Temple, I'll go arrange our rooms. I have, through wit and perseverance, haggled the locals into providing us with lodging for a week's time for 30 silver. Plenty of time to rest and recoup. Does that sound amenable? Shall I book rooms for us?"

Fingal gives up on the dumpster diving. He goes back around to the front of the place, trying to round up the group.
I see no sign of a hidden entrance. Maybe it's inside?

"Yes, although we should secure our valuables well. And let it be known to those thieving hobbits that they will come to a gruesome end if they dare try to pilfer any more of our possessions" replies Wulfhart.Pulpatoon wrote: Changing the subject: "If you lot are headed to the Temple, I'll go arrange our rooms. The adventurers chat about lodgings, agree to stay the night and float the possibility of leaving the Borderlands (where people just die and loose stuff.) Greener pastures may await elsewhere in the Realms. Porphyry the satyr goes to get the rooms and the others make their way to the temple for healing.
Aquar Ionian, sailor-priest of Procan, greets them. "You survived!" he booms good-naturedly, opening his arms wide. "Now who needs the healing touch of mighty Procan?"

Re: Chp. 9 - Keep on Keeping On
Groyn walks up to the mighty priest sailor. Aquar I offer a section of me braid for some healing... he grabs his battle-axe and slices a section of braid off and hands it to Aquar.
Re: Chp. 9 - Keep on Keeping On
Asherrion emerges from the Jolly Rogerer. He joins the others and relays, The madam there was going to allow me to use the wine cellar for my activities, so I doubt that's where the thieves' guild entrance is. However, I'm pretty sure it's somewhere below this establishment.
We can try a raid for a ring, or we can spend the night, or take off, as Swilbosh mentions. I'm for leaving. This town needn't a guild, everyone here is a thief.

Swilbosh also approaches the priest for healing. He doesn't speak.

"Yes, yes! Those who need healing step up, please, so the good Brother Aquar may see to you," says Wrenly, somewhat astounded that this transaction hasn't resulted in some sort of scam or fraud. His faith in humanity restored (perhaps foolishly) he will, as soon as every party member is taken care of, gladly hand over the remaining spells on the clerical scroll to the priest. "I must say I was a bit alarmed when you bifurcated the scroll earlier, Brother Aquar, but you have proven to be a man of your word - seemingly a rare thing in these parts."

Aquar Ionian stands in turn over Groyn the dwarf, Swilbosh the lizardman, and Fingal the human thief.
"I bring upon you the healing powers of mighty Procan!" the cleric bellows, perhaps with more show than necessary. He babbles for some time but finally delivers the goods.
Groyn, Swilbosh, Fingal heals [1d8] = 5, [1d8] = 2, [1d8] = 7

Wulfhart snaps out of his stupor. "My good Aquar, please provide me another dose of your healing."

Aquar frowns. "I've expended my healing powers for the day, my big friend."
Re: Chp. 9 - Keep on Keeping On
Porphyry would like to take advantage of this brief respite in town to shop for a sling and bullets. If possible, he will also try to buy or commission a dozen or so silver bullets.

"Brother Aquar, you have fulfilled your word," says Wrenly, producing the remains of the clerical scroll and handing it over with an uneccessary flourish. "It has been a pleasure doing business with you, sir." He beams at the others, hands on hips, quite proud of himself. "Shall we check out the shore? Souvenir shopping? Grab a bite?"
