You see that the statue has many fine cracks in it, but it is movie at a fair pace, but the Ax is not part of the statue, it is a finely made two handed battle ax with being held by the statue. One end is red from the fresh blood. It is very odd, no real noise as it heads to you.

Everyone roll for Initiative, the statue did NOT surprise you. If you are doing a attack, go ahead and roll for to hit and damage.

Still somewhat shocked to see the statue moving to attack her companion, Beya is slow to react after shouting out a warning.....belatedly realizing she's still got her throwing dagger in her hand, she hurls it at the Battle-Axe's haft in an attempt to break or deflect the weapon...

Iniative: [1d6] = 1
OOC: Does the individual Dex bonus to Initiative apply here? If so; the final total is a 3 (Dex 18" +2 bonus)

"Attack" at +3 due to DEX 18: [1d20+3] = 14+3 = 17

OOC: If this kind of called-shot is a no-go, please just consider it an attack roll instead...possible damage will be listed below.

Damage: [1d4] = 4

Husker pulls out his Shortbow and moves back as far as he can while still being able to attack [1d20+1] = 4+1 = 5 and his arrow breaks as it hits the statue.

THAC0 19
Damage[1d8+1] = 7+1 = 8

Before Beya's shout of warning has died on her lips Sjorvuld draws his sword, moves to close with the animated statue and strikes with a speed born of supernatural terror. The blade striking the statue even before it can finish raising its own Great-axe. (I hope)

The Wylder stands ready to fight, but looking to his fellows for support.

Then, reacting almost mechanically he tosses the ax on his right hand against the hulking stone automaton.

Initiative: [1d6] = 5

To hit with thrown hand axe (close range): [1d20+1] = 16+1 = 17, damage: [1d6+3] = 2+3 = 5


OCC: I don't know how far Coenbeorht is from the statue. If over 10ft distant subtract 1 from the attack roll; more than 20ft subtract 2.

OOC: Actually, using BECMI rules if you're 1-10 feet away you add 1, if you're 11-20 feet you don't add or subtract anything; and if you're 21-30 feet away you subtract one.

As soon as Delazar posts or sunday i will run the first round. Due to the ax being two handed, There not much chance of the Ax wielding stone beast from winning Initiative.

The blows fall on the Statue, most of them have no effect, The blades seem to have little effect, however one of Sjorvuld hits on the flat side of the sword as if it was a club or mace, and the cracks seem to grow on the statue.

The statue swings at Sjorvuld and hits, doing 4 points of damage.

EPILOGUE: As Husker sat at his desk, putting quill to parchment, he wrote in a side note "I recall running out of the room knowing that I had no blunt weapons, though I didn't know for sure they were needed, and remember thinking 'I could use some rocks, but I think I'll leave this baddie to the fighters' and smirking at the thought of running away." before once again resuming his remembering of his early life.

Sjorvuld takes the two handed blow on his shield arm and feels deep bruises rise from the strength if it. Dropping the sword and quickly drawing the club that he had used to prod the fallen adventurer earlier, he strikes again.

Initiative has already been rolled and it was a 6.

Roll to Hit [1d20+1] = 4+1 = 5
THAC0 = 19

Complete Miss no need to roll damage

Having seen the lack of effect her hurled dagger had on the 'living' statue; Beya glanced down on the ground and decided to fight stone with stone....

Picking up a fist-sized hunk of rock, she hurled it with all of her might at the axe-wielding statue...


Attack with Thrown Stone: 1d20+3 for DEX 18: [1d20+3] = 17+3 = 20

Damage: (OOC, I don't know what to use here....d3?): [1d3] = 1

The barbarian sees the lack of effect of his thrown ax, hears Husker's warning and understands.

He picks up a rock from the ground and lobs it at the stone-thing, trusting his halfling instincts to help in attaining a solid hit.

To hit with thrown rock (Thac0 17): [1d20] = 20

Throw Rock Damage [1d3+3] = 2+3 = 5


occ: damn! that was pretty solid. :)

Felgoriun has nothing useful apparently, so he grabs a rock and hurls it.

I think thac0 is 18. 19 plus 1 adjustment. Correct if not.

Roll5494 was 18.

BTW folks, My local internet provider (Skyline telephone) has had a major outage. should be up and running later today, as i have to leave work to get it fixed as something isn't right in the DSL line.

The stones rain on the statue, It is well cracked, It aims at Sjorvuld again, and swings.


And misses.

(DM is heard saying "dang lucky PCs...")

The statue seems to be in dire condition.

After dodging the rocks sailing from behind him Sjorvuld lashes out at the statue's side and strikes home. Only a glancing blow but still doing damage.

Roll To Hit
[1d20+1] = 18+1 = 19
THAC0 =19

Damage
[1d4+1] = 1+1 = 2

He spits out, "Die monster! Die!"

Felgorian Belrain felt pretty smug about his incredible rock throwing ability, hitting the statue on his first attempt. So, he decided he could easily do it again.

Wrong. [1d20] = 12

He must have picked up a right-handed rock, he decided. What else could it be?
