Quoros binds up Cole's leg.

Bind Wounds (Healing Proficiency) [1d3] = 2

He restores 2 points of health to Cole.

(Just rolled a D3 instead of a D6/2, if that's OK.)

"Thank you," Cole tells Quoros. "That should do for now. Now help me up please."

The warrior places his hand on the dwarf's shoulder and uses him a leverage to push himself to his feet. He then bends down to pick his things back up.

"Is everyone else okay?" Castien wonders aloud. "I admit, I was a bit preoccupied with trying to keep those frogs at bay and I didn't notice whether anyone else was injured."

Determinedly, Ausus sets upon the grim task of delivering a coup de gras to each of the giant frogs, starting with the large one. Once finished, he will carefully clean, then sheathe his sword. All the while, he'll keep an eye out for any additional creatures that might choose to accost the group.

579 CY, Goodmonth 10 (10:35pm)

"I figured we'd run into some of the structures new inhabitants," Cole states. "Thanks to the magi that was short and sweet."

"I do not like magic nor do I trust it so please stay away from me with your incantations. It was an excellent job nonetheless,"
the warrior says.

"As much as I hate to do so, we are going to need a torch because the moonlight this night is not as expected. I am having trouble seeing a damn thing,"
he continues as he drops his pack from his back, lays down his sword and shield, and begins to grab a torch after sifting around inside.

"Even though this moathouses' top has long since crumbled, the walls shadows are going to make it hard for a human such as myself to see."

Retrieving what he was looking for he then moves to the dwarf and comes cheek to cheek with him, appearing to whisper something. Cole then asks the party who has a free hand for the torch.

Staring at the frog corpses strewn about the path, Quoros tugs at his beard in quiet contemplation.

"We should get these things out of here... they're such an obvious sign of our presence and... and they could attract larger predators. If we drag them into the swamp, their homes will take care of them, for sure. But, before we do that..." he pauses, unsure if he should continue. "It sure looked like that large frog could have swallowed Cole up whole! I wonder if either of the larger ones has anything interesting inside... er, inside them?"

OOC: Always, always, always cut open the belly of large defeated creatures that swallow things whole to see if they have any goodies inside. I don't think it would be in Quoros' nature to do such a thing, but... if anyone else is interested in checking it out, it's generally not a bad rule. Found a nice necklace inside a snake in the Legacy campaign doing that... And if we weren't just an hour walk from Hommlet, I'd be up for some frog legs, too, but it's unnecessary here.

Cole hands the torch to Castien.

"Make no mistake, I did not say magi were useless....," he pauses.

"I just do not trust magic itself."
Cole grins at Castien then becomes serious and gives him a nod.

Overhearing Quoros, Cole responds. "Do as you must but make haste. We need to get inside quickly."

OOC - I was thinking the same Ethan...sounds like a job for a thief anyway!

IC - Gandrel will slit the stomachs of the two big frogs to see if there is anything of interest.

Castien accepts the torch from Cole, returning his nod.

While Gandrel dissects the larger frogs, Castien, perhaps stubbornly, pressing for an answer to his original question. "So, Cole, what exactly is our objective here?"

Prologue 0.2 (Adventuring)
579 CY, Goodmonth 10 (10:40pm)

Gandrel sifts through the bile and half digested remains in both large frogs stomachs. Inside one of them he finds a small purple gem.

"I like the persistence,"
Cole shoots back at the mage. "I am looking for signs of something that may have passed this way. Beyond that, I need to see that I can trust you all before revealing much more"

Quoros nods at Ausus' suggestion and adds, "Let's do it quickly."

He assists Ausus with transporting frogs to the water's edge and heaving them in. He will suggest slinging them low across the water to reduce noise and make it appear more like something moving into the water than a loud, hard slap.

Noting the find, Quoros nudges Gandrel (avoiding the filth of frog guts on his hands and forearms) and grunts, "Aye, what did I tell you, lad? Och, to think of what wonderful things these scoundrels might have eht over the years. It brings a tear to your eye, doesn't it?"

Prologue 0.2 (Adventuring)
579 CY, Goodmonth 10 (10:45pm)

Wiping his blade in the moat, Cole looks over to the party. "Let's move please," he orders as he begins to slowly approach the moathouse.

Same M/O or is it going to change?

Also, here is how torches for my campaigns work: A torch burns for 1 hour, clearly illuminating a 20-foot radius and providing shadowy illumination out to a 40-foot radius. If a torch is used in combat, treat it as a one-handed improvised weapon that deals bludgeoning damage equal to that of a gauntlet of its size, plus 1 point of fire damage.

Castien, carrying a torch in one hand and his staff in the other falls into his place behind Ausus in the pre-determined, single-file marching order. "Let's hope those frogs are the worst we'll encounter today." he thinks to himself.

Gandrel accompanies Quoros and Aus to the pond to wash his hands and arms.

Once everyone is forming up, he rubs his hands vigorously on his cloak to dry them:

"Cole I think it might be wise for me to approach alone and use my infravision to see if there is anything waiting for us across the bridge"
