Roscoe smiled. "I'm always happy to help and would welcome your approach, as I do want to know more about being human, but I think I'm missing something. And thank you for your opinion of me. I'm also unsure what Garvin and Madam Treegareden's dinner has to do with this conversation."

Well, this was meant as a private conversation between Garvin and Jaelah while they were walking back, but she will soldier on as it is.

He then smiles "You can call me compromised an' do bear that in mind for future jobs if you like but I think she's actually "good people". If she wanted to be an arse she could easily 'ave got warrants of search an' seizure for the Lost an' Found an' turned us all inside out. She could then 'ave then binned us up forever, tidied up an' got 'er ship back or otherwise 'ave 'ad enough on all of us to blackmail us into doin' whatever she wanted. She didn't. But, since I'm answering anyway, I think you're stretching on what he could be capable of. He'd never hurt anyone that didn't hurt his friends first. Metz told you he was loyal. Oh, he is. Where he erred is thinking that the short game was the best course of action. He heard you when you smacked him down. Have that talk and he'll pay attention.

Garvin suggests "If punt images of 'em around the starport vehicle hire places we might get lucky - especially if we flash some creds about. If anybody asks we say we're Bounty Hunters. It might be worth droppin' the odd clue that this pair are not only murderers but are involved in meat smugglin' - apparently that sends the locals off it!"

He goes on "If we can tie 'em to a vehicle we 'ave both an audit trail and a physical one to follow. Receipts or a flight plan might lead us to where they did their business".

This is where it went wonky (as ever on the turn of a thread page) because Roscoe simply wasn't there.

Then there was the section in mixed company when everyone's eating a meal / debriefing: viewtopic.php?p=719436#p719436

The above were posted out of chronological order which didn't help! Which I think was me working back through the thread and responding as I went...
