He will bring a half-dozen flying needles.

In a briefcase he will have a pair of fusion pistols, four each smoke, prism, and teargas grenades along with a respirator.

The navy man takes the paper and looks impressed. "I see. I'll need to authenticate the electronic version your associate sent me. And no matter what you think, I will need to see ID from someone."

He now (loudly) asides to Aster "Lady Treegarden, exactly 'ow long does it take for delaying the entry of the bearer of an Imperial Warrant signed by the Crown Princess to actually become "treasonous obstruction"?"

"The wheels of officialdom grind slowly," she said. "As long as they are working in good faith, let's just let things ride. Here is my identification."

She presents her ID to the man, and he examines it closely and then passes it to the ducal guard while he calls it in.

"We'll see," Ciencia said. "I can't wait to hear her reasoning. As for the admiral, Aster has told me of some of his doings. He will be detained and questioned most closely. The late baron got Navy plans from somewhere, and this man is in charge of the Navy shipyard. Too coincidental for my taste. I smell something fishy, and I want to know who did what and why. If you can deduce that with your awesome powers of the mind, please do without turning things into an interrogation. That's Aster's job."

The Navy man takes a few minutes to get some kind of confirmation. Then he hands the papers back. "I can't claim to understand this, but the papers are authentic. I'll pass you through to argue with the duchess and admiral. Nothing but words, mind, or we will have to intervene. I'm sure that whatever is wrong can be settled without more than raised words and harsh language. Don't make me and my people have to do something we'd all regret."

He gestures and the guards split apart to allow you access. Some of them and the Imperial Guard follow you in. The room on this other side seems to be a formal dining room with exquisitely carved furniture. Seated at one end of the long table are two women and a man. The man is in a Naval uniform and one of the women is dressed in very fine clothing. The last one is dressed well but seems more down to earth.

The duchess looks over and frowns. "What is the meaning of this interruption? Get out."

Aster gives Walt a withering look. "Are you actively trying to start an incident? What is with you and Garvin? Always looking to start a fight even in situations where talking is more productive. I'd get ball gags for you, but Garvin likes that sort of thing and would misbehave until I used it."

She shakes her head and turns her back on you. "I am Aster Treegarden, Roving Director for the Omicron Division. I have on my person transfer of ownership paperwork for this starport, only it is to this group and not Duchess Muktheswara and Admiral Noster. Our paperwork." She extended the paper.

The starport administrator rose and comes around to collect it while the other two jump to their feet and start shouting.

Walt can see from her surface thoughts that she has no idea what is happening.

She reads the paper quickly and both her eyebrows rise. She hands the papers back to Aster and turns to the other two. "This seems to be in order, Your Grace, Admiral. It is dated the same day as the transfer paperwork as you brought but is in the hand of the Grand Princess and invokes her father's will via her warrant. I'm certain there has been some kind of misunderstanding and that this can all be cleared up without threats or violence." She spares Walt a glance at the last. "If Her Highness is on the way here, I suggest we all stand down and wait for her to sort it all out."

Admiral Noster looks like he wants to faint or throw up. The duchess looks beyond furious.
