Re: Quest #44 "The Ethereal Job"

Theo says to the heroes (that is, the group other than the avaricious gnomes), It seems that them getting the full coffer and half of the other coins and gems is a little too much. But the other terms seem tolerable enough to me.

Re: Quest #44 "The Ethereal Job"

Theo nods in agreement with Alordan's sensible comment. He looks around at his companions. Three of them are bloodied and seriously beaten up. The group needs time to heal up in peace. I also agree with your proposal, Maag.

Re: Law of the Gun OOC

Horses in gunfights This hasn't come up yet, but please note the rules on horses in gunfights. Gun skill indicates that the horse is familiar with the sound of a gunshot and probably won't panic when one is fired near it . Normally, a horse makes an Intelligence check to not panic in a gunfight. A ...

Re: Chapter IV - Comancheria (Charlie & Ezekiel)

Turn 1 The scouts won the tiebreaker roll for initiative with a 6. I won't post the roll, because you guys won. Comanches state their actions (in order from north to south (the scouts are facing west)) 1 (rifle sheathe) - Will move, galloping 2 (lance) - Will gallop 3 (no visible weapon - Will gall...

Dropping unconscious from a horse, wagon, train, saloon roof, etc. P. 59 (bronco busting) has damage effects from being thrown from a bucking horse. Dropping in an unconscious state from any height will have similar effects. Modifiers based on height from the ground at the time of the fall, velocit...

Re: Law of the Gun OOC

That reminds me, if someone is shot on a horse, particularly multiple times, I’d say a Riding skill check is needed per that skill’s description of staying in the saddle in a challenging situation. What do you think? Just bumping this for people to weigh in. The RAW doesn't address this situation, ...

Re: Law of the Gun OOC

And that reminds me of another rule I raised a time ago in the Rules Discussion thread… I was pondering an aspect of the rules that felt odd. The Speed after a Fast Draw rule seems counter-intuitive. It makes more random an attribute that should reflect the more skilled gunman. Say Matt Dillon (ren...

Theo considers stripping down to his skivvies again and putting the beautiful chainmail back in the divvy pile. But now is not the time-- just in case things get ugly with the gnome brothers.

Re: Law of the Gun OOC

I think weapon Speed only applies in a Shootout Turn. With 10 seconds of time, divided into split-second counts. That's where the Speed of the weapon comes in. Chars have to choose between Fanfire to Careful shots, and every kind of shot in between. Fastdraw skill and success rolls too. As compared ...

Combat Turn (not Shootout Turn) actions The options are: -Shoot -Move -Shoot and Move -Any other action, to be sorted out via a GM call. A Combat Turn is the longer type, at 10 seconds. A character can take one or two Careful shots, then the other side take their one or two shots. Then movement hap...

Saul, unaware that he's spoiling a bazooka shot, quickly climbs onto the hull of the tank, pulls a grenade's pin, and drops the pineapple into the hatch. He dives for the ground and lies flat.

Re: Paladin - Have Gun, Will Travel

The conductor didn't want to delay the train by taking the robbers to the sheriff in Belton. So if Paladin gets off there, the train will go on to Fort Worth without him. Let's resolve that one, then go onto Paladin's other actions in the last post. If Paladin can get a good Luck roll at a -3 penal...

I didn't know how much fun it would be to play a Pict. That's a nice thing about playing a Hyborian Age game. The characters have a pre-made cultural background.

Torix will make his way back to the party as quickly as possible while also staying cautious and observant. He'll serve as interpreter with the Picts. He'll take the dead ones' arrows and offer to buy the live ones'. Then divide the arrows among the fighters. If the fish needs to be smoked to prese...

Tiny says, Luke, you and me either don't have any claim to any reward. If that really is Sam Bass. Bass was last seen around Round Rock, and we're 40 miles north outside of Belton. But of course Sam Bass is supposed to be from Denton, which is north of Fort Worth. Maybe him and his gang were headed ...

June 18, 1873, 12:30 PM. Clear and sunny. Last quarter Moon, headed to new Moon. The noontime sun is strong enough to make the crown of a hat hot to the touch, and to make the yellow grass glare. Andreas looks for terrain features that would attract a rancher in this part of the country to site a r...
