Re: Session 5: Beliard
Alas the scoundrel that he is Dorobo decides he's done all he can for this lot and decides to run after all.

Re: Session 5: Beliard
Dorobo's inside twist in upon themselves, fear and guilt mixing in equal parts. Fight or flight. He's not sure his actions would make a difference either way, his friends look to be at death's door. About 40 yards away now and using a tree for partial cover, he surveys his surroundings for any sign ...

Re: OOC I
I'm assuming Dorobo loses at least a round of attack opportunity to run, find cover and reassess what is happening in the battle. After the next update I will post//make any plausible attack rolls and/or declare his fast-footed exit from the frey... We seem, as this battle might indicates, really sh...

Re: Session 5: Beliard
Dorobo will run to a safe distance and seek cover. If there is an opportunity to send arrows into the battle he will. If any more of the party fall (and if he also realizes that the elves are not real and they are all about to get their asses handed to them)...he will run for good.

Re: OOC I
Well if you are saying that by the rules it is impossible to run before being engaged then It is what it is. The leader gets two attacks on him and the second one is coop de grace it seems.

Re: Session 5: Beliard
Dorobo runs How is he fleeing? Chapter 9: Combat > Movement in Combat > Retreat [/b] Retreat To get out of a combat, characters can make a careful withdrawal or they can simply flee. Withdrawing : When making a withdrawal, a character carefully backs away from his opponent (who can choose to follow...

Re: OOC I
No joke, Dorobo is running. He has not the fortitude to toe to toe with a baddie of that nature. NOt trying to screw the party, just RPing a level 1 theif of questionable moral fiber.

Re: OOC I
Because of dexterity my effective thac0 with a bow is 17. 14 hit's ac 3. Then please include that modifier in your roll. In fact, It's probably a good idea for everyone to make macros for the weapons they use the most. How I understand it, your THAC0 is 20. Period. It doesn't adjust down. You subtr...

Re: OOC I
The two shots I took for the last round (not the ones I just rolled) the first was good to hit an AC 3 I believe...but that's a miss so I take it the leader is well armored. Can we see what kind of armor he is wearing? Your first roll was a 14. All 1st-level characters in 2e have a THAC0 of 20, so ...

Re: OOC I
Honestly Dave I have no idea I made the character a long time ago picked the spells and that was on his sheet from way back then and was approved upon creation so if my selecting it was a fluke then i can fix it. Dust Devil was the only 2nd level spell he took and what you have here says 1 2nd leve...

Re: Session 5: Beliard
Dorobo, just about ready to shite himself and completely not really understanding what the hell is going on, ducks a little beside the stump as he readies another arrow then shouts at the orcs, "Last chance to run off you pickled horse asses, you are about to be pin cushions!" Then turns t...

Re: Session 5: Beliard
"Runaway already!" Dorobo shouts at his foe(s). If the orc in front of him is still melee close (after turning around) he'll continue melee. If there was enough time to retrieve his bow and there is still distance between him and the foe he will have drawn an arrow and upon seeing that his...

Re: OOC I
I think Dorobo and some others thinks the elves behind them is reals LOL..... I'm also thinking that we should have been told this might happen and in any case we should open fire as these orcses is running...but I think most of us will RP not knowing WTF is happening and holding our blows until the...

Re: Session 5: Beliard
As the orc infront of him turns to run dorobo takes a clumsy hack at it's backside
[1d20] = 4
Then sheaths his decidedly unbloodied sword and scurries over to retrieve his bow and draws an arrow to levy at the enemy just in case they change their mind about withdrawing.

Re: OOC I
This is starting to feel like that scene in the movie version of The Fellowship of the Ring where Boromir bites it. Hopefully the phantasmal troops will work, because I don't like our odds in a straight up fight. Sorry for Roderick getting us into this. He'll learn an important lesson from this, if...
