Hedge, did Reidoth, or someone else, tell Uilon anything about Venomfang other than that she can't be trusted? Is she evil? Are the druid circles okay with her staying at Thundertree (possibly protecting the Neverwinter forest a bit)?
How knowledgeable is Uilon of chromatic dragons?

Re: Chapter 4 > Thundertree
Uilon ties Reidoth's belongings to his own shirt and backpack after Kelton says the party would appreciate his help with Kael's body. "Haeredeth, a messenger of Reidoth's circle, is in Neverwinter city. I need to inform her of what happened here." To Aslaan he says "The spiders are a...

Re: Chapter 4 > Thundertree
Uilon takes the axe, "Thank you kindly." He casts a produce flame spell, uses it to set a fallen branch on fire, and with the branch heats up his dagger. Uilon then raises the great axe with both hands and decapitates Reidoth. With his dagger he does some cauterizing to stop more of the b...

Hedge, the "pecked and scratched" in the hawk's speech was awesome.

Re: Chapter 4 > Thundertree
Uilon speaks to the hawk in Common, "Thank you Glinith. I will leave Reidoth's body for the vultures. If you need me, I will be going duskward to the sea city, and there tell Haeredeth what happened here. She may send someone to get more spiders settled here. You're unnamed now." Uilon re...

Re: Chapter 4 > Thundertree
Uilon , gets up, but continues the ritual by fluttering the fingers on his left hand and making guttural sounds. He double checks to make sure Reidoth isn't breathing, and then searches among the fallen branches for a thick piece of wood which he places beneath his mentor's neck. He also looks in t...

Uilon sits down, and starts to cast Speak with animals on himself as a ritual, in hopes of finding out what the hawk saw.

Re: Chapter 4 > Thundertree
Can Uilon see if it really was the spiders that killed Reidoth? A nature, investigation, or perception check? 1d20 (+proficiency) +modifier?

Re: OOC 1 > The Place for Chatter
Hedge: is it okay to ask the others if anyone has a specific cantrip (like during a session 0)? If that's too meta-gamey, then I'll take it even if it's a duplication. How would Quilon know an arcane cantrip? ;) [/quote] I'm thinking of Mending, but it's a cantrip for clerics and wizards as well as...

Re: Chapter 4 > Thundertree
Uilon , in shock, looks at the cleric, "He was my mentor." He turns around to walk out, but turns back, now facing the noble "My name is Uilon Calithil, and..." Uilon turns, walks out, grabs his backpack, and heads for the old smithy where Reidoth had told him the giant spiders ...

Re: Chapter 4 > Thundertree
Uilon lowers his quarterstaff when he sees the elf, but keeps his shield up. When he hears the elf, his face falls.
He looks more closely over the bodies on the floor: a large, burnt fighter, and more masked men. "How did Reidoth... Where is his body?"

Re: OOC 1 > The Place for Chatter
Aslaan He is a 6' tall young man, fighter, with unfortunate guerrilla warfare experience in his past. He wears leather armor with dark green clothing underneath. His main weapon focus is the longbow. And he has a fondness for fire as a solution to problems. Let me know if you'd like to know any oth...

Re: OOC 1 > The Place for Chatter
Hey guys. Can you describe your character OOC a bit, because I can't see your character sheets. From reading chapter 4, I know: Ioriston Erudleaf (wordoftheoracle) is an elven wizard (does he have a robe and hat that would make someone seeing him IC for the 1st time assume he's a wizard?) Aslaan Car...

Re: Chapter 4 > Thundertree
Uilon puts down his backpack, picks up his quarterstaff again, grips his shield tightly, and approaches cautiously. The tall, mahogany skinned druid, wearing the greenish-brown traveling clothes common of his class, spots the burnt furrow and hole in the roof, and the open door. He rushes in, and i...

Re: Chapter 4 > Thundertree
Uilon sees horses tied to a wagon as he approaches Thundertree from the southwest, and wonders why loggers would leave the animals so exposed. The 30-year-old human slowly walks to the horses, unties them, and says "You're free now - I'd suggest you find cover before the dragon finds you."...

Re: OOC 1
I'm learning 5e at the moment, but after I've played that a while, I'll post a "Looking for a game" thread for the Serenity RPG and message everyone with a link to it. Maybe the Proudhon will rise again.

Re: OOC 1 > The Place for Chatter
For Uilon, you can remember its pronunciation as: getting a 5th wheel for the party - "WHEE-lon". How do you pronounce "Ioriston"? Is it Sindarin for "ancient (lore) scholar": "yo-RIST-on", "y" like in "yes", "o" like in "dog...

Re: OOC 1 > The Place for Chatter
How do you pronounce "Uilon"? I never tend to worry too much about names. I just name 'em what I want. It's Sindarin, so "WHEE-lon" with the "l" like the one in "leaf" and the "o" like the one in dog. Apologies for the delay in character c...

Re: OOC 1 > The Place for Chatter
I find it best to only name my PCs with starting letters not yet used by other PCs (here A,G,I, and K) also taking into account what possible shortened nicknames will be used if it's not a simple name or a common name in English. So I'm not using the G name Gilornor (meaning "star tree" fo...

Re: OOC 1 > The Place for Chatter
Aloha. Hedge found me in a "Looking for a 5e game" thread, and invited me to join the party. I still have a lot to read (more chapter 4) and learn (free basic 5e rules), and my player's handbook will only arrive in a few days; but I'll tentatively be joining in on IC posts even before my P...
