Gaerys will indeed join the front rank and attack the nearest giant not already engaged by someone else.
Giantbane (vs. true giant): [1d20+3] = 13+3 = 16 Damage: [1d12x2] = 11x2 = 22+10

Re: At the Steading of the Hill Giant Chief
Gaerys agrees. That first door might also lead to a less conspicuous place to leave the giant bodies.

"Even better," grouses Wulfgard. "Mobile underground unnatural trees. Still, if the alternative is standing here worrying about them . . . I'll be waiting here when you get back."

Re: At the Steading of the Hill Giant Chief
Gaerys will take a quick moment to check traffic patterns. Is either fork more heavily traveled than the other? If so, he prefers the fork less traveled. If not, he would take the right fork and check the door therein. As for the dead giants, Gaerys figures that the time spent hiding or arranging th...

Re: At the Steading of the Hill Giant Chief
Gaerys dips back into the room and silently motions to the others to take stealth positions because something is coming. He'll hide behind the door, hoping to catch the giant by surprise and from behind. If the giant comes through the door, Gaerys will attack with Giantbane... Giantbane (vs. true gi...

Re: At the Steading of the Hill Giant Chief
Gaerys listens to hear whether anyone is responding to the giantess's screams. If so, he'll stand to one side of the door to try to catch anyone coming through it by surprise. If not, he will suggest moving on immediately to maintain the element of surprise for as long as possible (and so not to was...

Re: At the Steading of the Hill Giant Chief
Gaerys attacks with Giantbane.
Giantbane (vs. true giant): [1d20+3] = 10+3 = 13 Damage: [1d12x2] = 11x2 = 22+10
Hits AC 1 or better for 32 points (the +10 is to work around the fact that the dice roller can't do both additive and multiplicative bonuses in the same roll).

Re: At the Steading of the Hill Giant Chief
As curious as Gaerys is about that chest, perhaps the best course would be to ensure that nothing is sleeping in that huge bed and, if so, mark off the room as "not a threat" and move on.

Ah. I didn't catch from that description that some of the giants were still partying.
Gaerys is officially in favor of whatever can get him slicing giants apart.

Re: At the Steading of the Hill Giant Chief
Gaerys wonders if "distraction" is just another word for "great big alarm clock to wake everyone up." Passed-out giants are much easier to deal with than alert giants. Maybe if we start with stealth, then go to distraction once we decide to attack or they wake up? If we start wit...

Re: At the Steading of the Hill Giant Chief
I'm thinking stealth. Did Antheris's recon give any indication whether a normal human could open the doors from inside? Gaerys could try to make a stealth entrance easier by using his potion of climbing to go over the walls and open the gates to the guard station and the main compound. At which poi...
