Sorry to hear about your daughter. Hoping the test results come out false. No worries about lagging behind, I've been swamped at work and being really busy with house projects I haven't had much time to log in.

good news it is not COVID, oddly enough she went to her pediatrician and they said it is some respiratory virus that normally they only see in the winter but a rash of kids have come down with in this month. RVP virus apparently. Correcting myself RSV Virus apparently easy enough to goof up the acronym.

I cannot say what they are Zeromancer. But they are not gelatinous cubes I can say that much. :)

@DM Alright. Does the water appear to me moving/flowing or otherwise coming from anywhere? Is it also damp, or just wet?

it does not appear to be flowing or moving more or less it looks to be a fairly still pool of liquid.

@Bluetongue Don't mind the snide remark, just trying to keep Uther's personality in line with his lousy Charisma score. ;)

No no, I want to see if the fire has an effect on it. Uther prepared flaming sphere. He could roll it around and evaporate whatever that is on the floor, then clear out a pathway down the hall before the spell expired.

I've got a strange work week going on I was not in my office today, I was working in the SU building helping my boss. Tomorrow I'll be at another school working with a colleague helping him out. Not sure where I will be next week yet. But my lack of posting during and after work might continue a bit.

Alright, fire it is.

Let's see what the torch does, if it seems to have an effect, then Uther will unleash fiery fury.

Also, don't worry about being slow, the wife and I here are in the middle of moving. We're going to be busy through the weekend.

As a DM I always worry when i slow a game down. I've lost players on this forum before due to game slowness. So unfortunately that is one of my burdens to bear.

How deep is the gelatinous/water source? Would a dwarf be able to walk through it? I don't think there is anything evil or a trap... Unless it's a trap.

I'm willing to use Flaming Sphere and try to evaporate the fluid.

I mentioned this in a prior post the liquid is 6-8 inches deep. Thus the rock sinking out of sight. Oddly I will add so far nothing you have tried has changed the look of the wet it still reflects like it is a wet floor it did not reflect the stone as it was above it and dropped into it, it also did not reflect the flame. I know I am probably being too fickle but nobody asked if they looked at it do they see their reflection the answer is nope.

If it is an ooze, the stone probably just plopped in it like sinking in mud.

Try throwing some rations on, a bit of beef jerky. If that dissolves then you have an idea what it might do to exposed flesh.

That is definitely a good idea. I just don't know how to tackle this situation. I've always seen memes online about ooze, but if it is ooze, I don't know what we should do.

Well ok so this is in that family and the specifics about it merely indicate that it only does damage or harm to a specific type of material; stone, and flesh it doesn't indicate it would do anything to at all.
