After reading through the Deadlands players section. I am thinking of playing just some regular cowboy dude, perhaps with a duelling gunslinger or tricky huckster style.

Does that fit in with the storyline and 'posse'?

You're first up, so you get to claim the gunslinger of the posse of you wish. ;) I am pondering a few concepts so am happy to let others declare first.

Go ahead and create. More guns might not be a bad thing.

I would say playing a 'Harrowed' character might not work. Of course you could become Harrowed later .... but I can work the adventure to fit most generic types.

I am currently scripting the storyline and plot. We will begin enroute from the mid-West town of Denver, heading north into the fringes of Sioux Nations borderlands and the town of Laramie, Wyoming.

Not sure yet, I will look it over soon and try and come up with a concept.

The sheets so far look fine. Pics are great. Ah! Someone took at Westwood original! Can't think where Flanagan seems familiar.

I am fielding a couple of pm's and will add to the background scenes while others devise characters.

Patience with everyone. I appreciate some players work in medical areas and may post slower than normal at this time. No worries.

My first draft is up. I have an idea for her background but it will have to wait till I can sleep on it.

Okay. We have perhaps a couple of other players so that is great. Post in your character intro a reason why your player is heading north to Cheyenne from Denver and onto to the frontier town of Laramie.

I think Wina is ready.

Should I add Outsider a second time since the independent Native tribes would also consider her an Outsider? It would be an extra Hindrance since I am not dropping Loyal.

Do any of us know each other yet?

Actually sometimes when I load the charter sheets firum I often get a '307 redirect ' message a blank white page where the sheet should be. Don't know why?
Could players pm me a copy of their sheets or let me know the sheet 1234 number.

It might make some sense if she had connection with the Sioux Nations in some way. Just keep the Outsider (minor) Hindrance as a single one. The Sioux Nations are a collective of numerous tribes so belonging to a lesser known one would not neccessary by a problem.

I have her backstory stuck in my head so I will just stick with it. Maybe the Sioux will be indifferent. I am not concerned either way.

As you start on a train, keep your cash. You can get horses later.

Welcome All! Looking forward to some rip-roaring fun in the Weird West. I'll most likely be rolling up a huckster type in the next day or two.

Thanks! Do you know if the Deadlands Reloaded (downloaded, but not read yet) varies much from the (somewhat) original Player's book? I actually have that one in hard copy and it's what I'm most familiar with.

Deadlands Reloaded is a total rewrite using the Savage Worlds base rules. (You actually need the Savage Worlds book and the Deadlands Reloaded book to make a character.) So, I expect it doffers greatly, but I am not familiar enough with the old game to say.

Thanks, I'm skimming through it now, and yes, a total rewrite. I recognize the feel & flavor, but the mechanics are a bit different.

I believe the main difference from 'classic' to 'Reloaded' comes in the combat. The so called 'Way of the Brave' which streamlines the combat and makes it much more deadly, especially in melee hand-to-hand. Another good twist to Savage Worlds is that keeping lower die type skills or traits may mean you miss more often but you have a greater chance of 'Aceing' abd thus increasing damage through raises.

I am currently checking out various online random card generators to see if I can get one whose macro or deals can be linked to the game for some transparency in duels and spells.
